Barn vacation rentals in Portugal

Literally everything was great - very clean accommodation, all amenities available, the incredibly beautiful guesthouse that constantly gave the impression that we were in a wonderland. Nienke always responded quickly to all our messages and was there when we needed her. We are very grateful to her for all the recommendations and help. We really felt like we stayed at our friends' house. If it were possible to give more than 5 stars to this place, I would gladly do so. We would love to come back here again!

Dave and Wendy were great hosts! Always attentive to our needs and those of children. They gave information on everything that was needed for our fantastic stay. They greeted us with a treat for the snack plus seasonal fruits and vegetables grown on their property. They left us completely at ease, both inside and outside, we felt at home! The dimensions of the accommodation are better than the photos on the site reveal to us. Everything being great, it's impossible to characterize the friendliness and humanism of the couple Wendy and Dave. In contact with local people we understand how this couple of citizens is cherished and respected! Finally, even your Belgian shepherd dog is impressive with affection, always gentle and well laid out, as well as your black cat, full of character, who only asks for a few bites by placing himself on his belly! Based on respect and welcome, I could almost say we were friends. We will be back for sure!!

The house was clean, the garden was nice and the location was really good. We also appreciated being able to check in a bit earlier. Some things could be improved. The garden furniture and barbecue were rusty, and a lot of the kitchen stuff wasn’t very clean. The bed was quite hard and small if you are taller than 1.75. With a bit more care it could be a much more comfortable stay. Overall it was an okay stay and we enjoyed the surroundings.

The pictures can only give an idea how special this place is. The house was clean, well equipped and the pool is awesome. The house is in a tiny valley in the middle of a Banana plant together with just a few more houses. This makes it very quiet and gives you a lot of privacy. We had a fantastic time. Bring good binoculars. If you follow the whale watching boats, you will be able to see the whales. On the street: Yes -it is steep and scarry. But you can get used to it. Our recommendation is to rent a small car with reasonable horse power engine. The challenging aspect of the street leading to the house is managing opposite traffic, requiring one vehicle to reverse either up or down the steep and narrow road. During a week-long stay, this situation did not occur, and the likelihood is very low. A suggestion for the landlord would be to install signaling to indicate when a car is on the road or to consider implementing lights similar to those in place at construction sites.

Thanks to Laurent and Céline for hosting us. Laurent was a very responsive host and provided us with great recommendations for activities for our stay. The house met our expectations and met all our needs. The accommodation is clean and well-equipped, ideally located in the village of Foz. Shops, restaurants and the beach are nearby. The value for money is great. A real favorite, we recommend this listing!

Where do I even start? Everything about this place was magical and amazing! For the first three days of our stay we didn’t even go anywhere. We woke up slow and enjoyed the grounds. The most amazing Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in truly provided a much needed break which invites you to slow down from the busyness of life and get in touch with nature. Each morning we made a delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients from our host. Walked the property and greeted the animals, taking in the view and beautiful gardens and flowers. My 8 year old loved cutting fresh herbs and lettuces to make a salad each night that would go with dinner. The home felt like a rustic castle and we loved all the space we had and feeling spread out. The hobbit bar was a treat! We booked massages and I enjoyed mine outside which was lovely. This place is such a gem and we are so grateful for the experience! We will definitely be back again.

We had a wonderful stay! The authentic, centrally located cottage was perfect for exploring nearby villages, relaxing at river beaches, and savoring delicious Portuguese cuisine. Jane, our Airbnb host, gave us excellent local tips that enriched our experience. The cottage is tucked away on the village's edge, down a country road. It's easy to reach lively villages and stunning towns, but a car is essential. Overall, it's an ideal spot for a relaxing and authentic Portuguese getaway!

Loved my stay and enjoyed the nature and quiet. Everything you needed was available. It’s close to the beach and a supermarket is close so you don’t need a car if you want a chill location.

We loved the stay, the house was beautiful and cozy. There was plenty of firewood to keep us warm in the living room. The kitchen was modern. I only have 2 things to point out: - It had all the necessary amenities except a mop to wash the dishes. - the oven top was not well washed (we left it cleaner than we found it) Finally, I leave the suggestion to the host that the outdoor space has immense potential and could be better used, for example with a swimming pool, especially in the warmer months.

They were so nice and welcoming and I felt very comfortable there. They had the clearest instructions I've ever seen with a very cute and welcoming Video explaining and showing everything. It was very beautiful and the location is great!

Such a relaxing place for us to call home for a few nights during our busy Portugal travels. The view is beautiful and Steve and Liesa’s home has everything you need. There are plenty of sights to see within a one hour drive. Everything is just as described and Steve and Liesa are kind, helpful hosts. Hopefully we will be back for another stay.

Nice accommodation, lovely place with plenty of outdoor space. The kitchen was well equipped, there was olive oil to use. The only downside was that the mosquito net in the room was really tiny. Because of this, it does not fit properly around the bed. That was not comfortable because there are a lot of mosquitoes!

In a tastefully renovated farmhouse, we had a quiet stay, the garden is very nice and the pool welcoming The hosts are very available and extremely kind! We came for a wedding. We were 4 adults. 2 staying in the main house with a large bedroom upstairs and the other 2 in a beautiful outbuilding right next door also tastefully renovated It's quiet, amid vineyards … very relaxing!

We had a great time staying in Castelo de Paiva. The house was perfect for us as we went there for a creative escape. The property is very inspiring. Whenever we needed help with something the issue was solved immediately. We had a lot of fun at the pool and barbecuing. The home is close to town but also perfectly isolated. Thanks so much for everything!

Rich & SAM were great hosts who went the extra mile that made our stay special including providing warm fresh bread, home made cakes and scones, delicious! They also provided fresh farm eggs, milk freshly squeezed orange juice and a lot more…… We didn’t have the best of weather during our stay but we were warm and cozy and additional wood pellets were provided just as we were running low without having to ask. If you like walking it is an ideal location to trek the countryside but within a 10-15 minute drive of a number of good eateries. If you choose to eat in the kitchen has all the essentials and weather permitting you can dine on the terrace looking out on rolling hills and distant farms. We had a great 4 days and are looking forward to our return.

Originally we were planning to go to Boom festival and were looking to rent a house nearby. It turned out that the house was much better than the festival. The property is authentic and beautiful. The house is full of history and every detail is so special. We really enjoyed our time inside and outside on the patio by the swimming pool. The kids were absolutely happy there! The kitchen is so well equipped. The living room area is stunning. The bedrooms are super comfy and the air conditioner did its job providing a refreshing coolness. Highly recommend to everyone! It's a beautiful clean house in a private and quiet location. The listing is accurate. It is centrally located walking distance from the Lagoa das Furnas, the host provides a a cleaning service every 2 days and there is a wonderful restaurant in the complex run by hosts. The kids played outside and had we visited during a warmer period we would have used the pool; instead we used the fireplace.

Very cute, quiet place! The right place to relax, for example at the associated communal pool. If you want to take care of yourself, you should be well on foot or have a car with you (the mini supermarket around the corner is unfortunately permanently closed, next mini supermarket about 25 min walk). The neighbors are very friendly!

Beautiful tranquil little converted farmhouse. All the amenities you need, lovely pool and very friendly dog. It is walkable to supermarket and local bars or a cab to Guimarães is very cheap. Our host was very friendly and helpful throughout.

Cocoon apartment and pleasant place, the pool is a real delight, close to many sites not to be missed in Portugal, Joao and Teka are very considerate and attentive hosts, I highly recommend this stay was one of the best we have done. Thank you to them
