The place belongs to Ulysses and so much to say that this man is amazing! It is warm, welcoming, caring, helpful, etc. A real plus when visiting this remote area. Its small village hidden in the mountain is a haven of peace that is worth a look. Meals are a treat and in the evening it looks like a village party. From start to finish, we felt confident and at the house in this place cut off from the rest of the island. A place to stay absolutely. Thank you again.

The rooms are simple but everything important is there and everything was super clean. The location is a dream with wonderful views over the river to the national park. The river crossing is a little adventure on the small bridge and we were very happy that our hosts carried the suitcases. Food was great, so was Mojito. Little secret tip.

Very beautiful area. Comfortable and quiet. Wifi connection was not great.. however being that this is near a mountain range that is to be expected. Ulysses was extremely helpful with organizing a hike to the comandancia de la plata.

The place is actually not a typical Casa particular, but a real eco resort. You will stay in your own bungalow on the property of the host family, of which there are several. Amenities are simple but functional. The air conditioning is a bit nonsense because the room is largely open (safely protected by fly screens), so you would have to cool the entire Sierra Maestra if you throw it on, which you don't have to, because in the altitude even in the altitude, the night temperature was completely OK with us in the hot summer. Ceiling fans also provide a refreshing breeze. So everything is fine. The location is spectacular. In the middle of the Sierra Maestra, right at the entrance to the national park, on the other side of the river. You can't get any closer to nature. A small path leads from the Casa to a holiday camp and then to some small cottages with lots of pets, so if you like, you can enjoy a large dose of rural Cuba with a small walk. In the Casa itself, on the other hand, you have the feeling of nature in the forest. Particularly beautiful is the restaurant belonging to the Casa, which also serves as living room. Here you can sit outside, the bar is open to guests at night, there is beer and cocktails, and of course breakfast and dinner, both at very fair prices in very good quality (but no choice - there is just a dish, on the first evening it was wonderful suckling pig with us, on the second juicy chicken). The friendly staff organize all the desired excursions and also arrange this with the national park staff (you can't do anything without a guide), which is very convenient. The mandatory tour to Comandancia La Plata, where Castro spilled out before the Revolution, is easy to arrange, even horseback rides. If you come by car: you can easily and safely park on the other side of the river, the friendly helpers drag your suitcases over the river. Extremely recommended!

The place is stunning, its some cabins in a complex by a river overlooking the jungle on the outskirts of the village of Santo Dominigo. The host offers transport in their truck bus from Bayamo for 60 euros (he met me at the bus stop and drove me streight to the air bnb over some very steep roads). They also offer a great walking tour of a nearby mountain which has a mix of jungle and farmed areas which has very beautiful scenery. There's also tours of Poco Tourquino and La Comanchia on offer from eco tours.

Absolute recommendation! Perfect for nature lovers and adventurous travelers. It's super relaxing to enjoy the beautiful scenery! Ulises and his family were always very helpful, reliable and accommodating, he took care of a transport for us to his place and back and a trip to Comandancia La Plata. The dinner was very tasty! We would definitely come back!
