Cottage vacation rentals in Ormesby

This was a very cosy cottage in a great location. We chose Pickering as it was very central to all the places we wanted to see in North Yorkshire (Moors, Coast), everything was within a short drive (from 10 to 35 mins), so the location is perfect, with so much to see around the area. The cottage itself is very quaint and cosy and has everything you need. We used the hot tub a few times and this was a nice treat. The host, Tim, was extrememely helpful and helped us with parking information etc. We would definitely recommend this place. It is great for visiting the North Yorkshire moors, some pretty village nearby (Thornton Le Dale, Hutton le Hole, Helmsley) also Eden Camp, Ampleforth Abbey, Nunnington Hall, Ryedale Folk museum, as well as Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay on the coast. We stopped in York on the way up but thought we could have easily stayed here longer and done a couple of day trips to York.

Really cosy place, awesome decor and a huge bed. Would love to visit in winter to make use of the fireplaces (the weather was too good this weekend!) Hot tub was great and pizza oven fantastic. Thanks for having us!

We had such a wonderful stay at The Byre! The cottage was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly equipped — the hosts had truly thought of everything. It was also incredibly dog friendly. Our dog was made to feel so welcome with a thoughtful basket of essentials, and we really appreciated the lovely welcome tray waiting for us too. Thank you for such a relaxing and memorable stay — we’ll definitely be returning soon!

3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

We had a lovely weekend the games room is a perfect touch. A very well equipped cottage. the books and wide selection of board games is a lovely touch. Hot tub is a really good size. The hosts are welcoming and on hand. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We have just returned from a wonderful trip. The house was exactly as described, fully equipped, very friendly neighbours and loved the hot tub. Found some nice walks from the house and easy driving to the many delightful beaches and towns in the area. The local pub is a 10 minute walk with friendly staff, lovely beer garden and pub classics type menu. Would highly recommend this little gem. Thanks Dawn 😁

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walking the surrounding area from the house was great and very near to a pub and tearoom which both served great food. The hot tub was an added bonus!

Wonderful place with the comfiest bed ever. Such Wonderful views. watching the swallows. Everything we needed for a couple of nights. Would have loved some milk in the fridge but not too far to local farm shop to stock up.

We absolutely loved our short but sweet stay which was perfectly located for the wedding at Danby Castle. The Airbnb is spotless, spacious and has the most breathtaking views. And in addition to that Ann was very kind, responsive and accommodating to any additional needs we had. Thank you for allowing us to stay here and we hope to return to soak in the area a bit more next time!

Hill top cottage was amazing it was everything and more, the cottage had everything you needed for your stay. absolutely spotless well maintained, the views were amazing so peaceful, we really felt at home. we didn't want to leave.

what a beautiful cottage. Decorated perfectly, cozy and quaint. we walked every day from the cottage. It's perfectly placed. The sun room was perfect to chill in on a summers evening. Comfortable bed which is always needed after long days I the sun

Lovely cottage, super clean, lovely to get a little pack of cleaning cloths, oven gloves and tea towels. Very easy instructions and quick responses. So private and very peaceful. BEAUTIFUL garden, so lovely to walk around early in the morning with the dog. Extremely safe. Everything you need in this little gem.

The house is peaceful and beautiful but a tad expensive. Great position on Sinnington’s walking trail. However, unless one manages the upstairs roof skylight blinds the bedroom got quite hot and even when you did it was still very warm. Probably needs a way to let fresh air in. Also we thought the host could have made personal contact with us - we tried several times to no avail however, the hosts email comms were always quick and freely gave great advice. We were proactively well supplied with helpful walking information which we were very grateful. This sounds a bit negative but overall we enjoyed staying there. Suggest a whats app number would be good for overseas travellers who usually only have that means available to make immediate contact possible.

I had a lovely time staying at Stanley Cottage. It is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Everything was as described and the location is brilliant for exploring the moors, very convenient for pubs and the cafe in Osmotherley and also very peaceful. Would definitely like to stay there again.

Had a lovely stay at Rachael’s , just what was needed , took our little dog which was great , he had his first day at the seaside just 35 mins to the coast Clean and tidy , everything you could need although we ate out you could cook a meal , 2 minutes walk to shops , pubs and cafes , and the church on the door step is stunning . A very comfortable Huge bed too Bonus as we left Monday is market day lots of lovely fresh foods to bring home

What a lovely place! We decided last minute to go away for the long weekend and looking at Francesca's cottage we felt it was just right, so I got InTouch and Francesca got back to us very quickly and that was that! couldn't have been easier, fantastic host! Saltwater cottage was absolutely fantastic! In the perfect spot near the harbour, it’s literally steps away from the best spot to watch the sun going down over the beautiful cliffs surrounding a Staithes. The cottage was squeaky clean and had everything we needed for a fab stay. Bed was super comfy and cosy shower was perfect and living room lovely to sit with a glass of wine. We ate in the Cod & Lobster and the Royal George both were great. Lovely cliff walk to Runswick Bay is also recommended. Staithes is a really stunning village and we’ll definitely be back to stay at Saltwater cottage!

As always, we had a wonderful stay at the Granary. Duncan and Adrian are the best hosts, and there is nowhere more idyllic and beautiful than lovely Levisham. Thanks again for having us- we will be back!

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful barn before a family wedding. Wendy was kind enough to allow the bride and her entourage to get ready in the spacious living area, offering up her garden for photographs. Nothing was too much trouble and a few issues were dealt with swiftly. Highly recommended for a peaceful, countryside stay in glorious surroundings.

The cottage was perfect for our weekend doing a bike event. It was clean and tidy. We liked the fact we could get the cars off the road.

Great accommodation with all amenities you could require. Walking distance from bars and restaurants, with easy parking Friendly and proactive service. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return In future.

Bridge Cottage was perfect! Lovely style comfortable, clean and quiet in a great location , close too the high street and the many shops, restaurants and bars. Just what we needed.

Wow. What a beautiful place to spend the Easter weekend. Sarah’s place is a home from home. It has everything you need to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the surrounding area. Milk, eggs (chocolate too!) were here when we arrived, a lovely touch. The house was sparkling clean and bigger than the photos show. The pub across the road is ideal for a drink and top notch pub grub. York is 30 minutes to the park and ride (definitely do this to save on expensive parking), but the beauty is the walks around the area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for being a great host!
