Quinta da Xandica, located just outside of Valença do Douro village, was a fantastic, and unique experience. It’s rare these days to find an Airbnb hosted by a “real” (boots on the ground) host who is not only there to share local knowledge and accommodates your needs, but literally who also welcomes you in to the ACTUAL family home. It reminded me of a traditional bed and breakfast, in all of the best ways. (Including a lovely breakfast in a dining room!!!) The Quinta was home to Matilde”s great grandfather, and is shared today with her grandmother and father (three generations). It’s a working farm, and an all around charming, beautiful place. Even during our unseasonably rainy visit, the grounds and area was stunning. Practically speaking, the bed was comfortable & the water hot. Dinner made by Matilde was a reasonably priced and delicious with estate wine. We also thoroughly interaction with other guests, the chipped dog, “Bill”, and access to the surrounding area. A treasure!

We loved staying at Marta's place. She was always there when you needed something or had a question and was always friendly. The room and kitchen are actually really hard to order as described, but the pictures look a little different than in reality. You can also make a little cornflakes or bread for breakfast in the kitchen, but in downtown Porto you can of course have a little better brunch. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable and can't criticize anything about the apartment. Three successful days for us.

Wonderfully generous and hospitable hosts. The stay at his home was more than pleasant. The surroundings are very peaceful and everything is taken care of in detail. They treated us to a delicious breakfast. We'll be back for sure!

Very nice owners who make you feel welcome. We enjoyed the swinningpool and garden. Breakfast was well taken care off. It's in a quiet envirement, but with the car you can go to Ponte de Lima, Braga or Porto. We enjoyed our time here!

It is a Lovely place in the middle of nowhere (that nowhere you have to take literally), great views on the mountains. The hosts were very caring and with a lot of knowledge of what to see or visite. Great place to really relax.

I had a lovely weekend at this beautiful manor house. The place is surrounded by nature and perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It’s peaceful, full of charm, and has such a calming atmosphere. The owners are incredibly kind and made me feel right at home, warm, caring, and super welcoming. Truly a special place. I’d definitely love to come back!

What a wonderful and cozy place! I only stayed for one night but immediately felt at home thanks to Diogo and his mom, “Big Mama.” They are both such warm and friendly people, and Diogo went above and beyond to provide local recommendations, advice, and even walked me to a shop to print some papers I needed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nelly and Gerard were wonderful hosts! Their place was exactly as pictured, and the location was perfect for exploring both Aveiro and Costa Nova. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We especially loved the garden and swimming pool. I would highly recommend staying here!

Really enjoyed the hostel and would stay again. It was focused around the surfing in the morning which was great, Marco is a great teacher and you get plenty of time on the waves. Raquel is a lovely host and the food is excellent, there's a bit of a lack of local things to do and places to eat within walking distance but the nearest city isn't too far if you want to explore in the afternoons/evenings. Would totally reccomend the hostel to anyone wanting to learn how to surf, many thanks : )

Very beautiful space and architecture well integrated into the landscape. Be careful with the details and a very comfortable bed. All safety and disinfection equipment prepared and easy to access. The employees, Bruna and Isabel, very friendly and available, always attentive. Communication with Vânia also went very well and I appreciate your attention. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location and very peaceful! Our hosts thought of every detail to make us comfortable and gave great restaurant recommendations. The morning breakfast was spectacular and everything was delicious and homemade! The perfect retreat, only wish we could’ve stayed longer!

You'll love Quinta Trindade. The surroundings are peaceful with amazing views, and the house was remodeled with impecable taste and attention to detail. The cleaning standards are excellent, breakfast was delicious and Pierrick was really friendly, helpful and communicative: it felt like home from the very start. Wether you wish to go for a hike around the area or just relax and enjoy Quinta Trindade's amazing outdoor areas and common spaces, you're in for a treat. 100% recommended, will definitely be coming back!

Casas da Li is a very cozy space, in a mountain village, at 500m altitude and so with fabulous views. Of course, the road is difficult by the curves, but with a good pavement. It's worth it for the contact with nature and the unique views. The facilities are very good, as are the breakfast. It was a good experience.

Len and Isabelle are natural hosts. From the moment we arrived to departure, the pair made us to feel welcomed and at home. Their location is a true BnB and I found myself in peace during the stay. If it was the roosters crowing in the distance or my imagination chasing the thought of who built the home in the 1700's, I truly enjoyed this stay.

Wonderful house! We felt right at home, hosts made us breakfast every day, and gave us excellent recommendations for local food and activities. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Tondela and looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay.

Very large house with everything you need. There were 14 of us and we occupied 7 bedrooms each with a bathroom. The refrigerator failed and Tiago replaced it the same day. Perfect place to visit the Douro and the surrounding towns but a bit far from Porto. Access to the house is via the back street.

We had a great time at Ann and her husband's place. They are lovely hosts, who made us feel very comfortable. The pool is a big plus. It feels like home. Above all, do not change anything and continue to make the guests who are visiting your beautiful home happy. we would have liked to continue the stay. Everything was perfect.

A really lovely room just like the photos. The family were all very welcoming and helpful. They allowed us to check in early as the room was ready and looked after our bags on our last day .We had a fantastic meal one evening in their restaurant, not to be missed . The only down side was it’s a reasonable walk to the old town of Porto but if you don’t mind that it’s a lovely place to stay

Lugar da Pedra Altra is a very special place, the host were very helpful and we had a very memorable holiday. We stayed there as a group of eight, two families and we had enough space, and the breakfast that they supplied was very enjoyable. We would look to visit again in the future

Mr. Edgard received me with great kindness, starting by picking me up at the bus station, introducing me to the place and neighborhood and being very polite. The suite is very cozy, with all the utilities to spend a long stay. I stayed 15 days, but you can stay from a month, quietly. It has bus stop in front of the building and is very close to a large shopping mall in Braga, you can walk. Near the University of Minho, restaurants in the surroundings, in short, very comfortable. I highly recommend!!!

Our stay at Marie's place was lovely. The house is surprisingly beautiful and very unique. The small pool ended up being more than big enough. Perfect for a refreshing dip. Everything is very neatly maintained. But above all, the food was phenomenal. Breakfast is huge and everything, really everything is homemade from Marie. We also ate there for 3 evenings. The dinner was also delicious and super cozy. Marie is a very friendly hostess with whom you can have a nice chat. Would highly recommend!
