Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Nelson County

Lovely little spot in Amherst. Clean, close to the towns shops and restaurants. Stayed here for SBC reunion and it was convenient to campus.

I love to hike and when I was on here looking for a place(I'm from Ga) I kept moving the map around and OMG this place called out to me. As I drove up, it looked like a post card. I could not stop smiling. THEN... I walked in and I was truly amazed. I loved everything about this place. My entire stay I saw 3 vehicles (1 was Amazon/I ordered stuff). I would get up every morning, and as I had my coffee I would see deer and they would come back around 8pm. Lots of wildlife and that's what I wanted. A must stay!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Rockfish Farmhouse. Sarah & Bryan thought of every last detail. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. We could have used an extra day or two to relax just a little bit longer. We were in town for a Liberty University Graduation and we sure did enjoy coming back each night to the Farmhouse to rest our tired bodies and take in the gorgeous views. We traveled with my elderly parents, and they were so comfortable at Sarah & Bryan's! We could not stop gushing about this hidden little gem. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this experience such a memorable one. We will certainly be back as we have our youngest starting in the Fall at LU. Thanks again & we'll be back soon.

“The Small House” was exactly what we needed, a peaceful place to rest. The house was a great size with a lot of charm and character. Two great living spaces and a deck. The beds were comfortable, soft but firm. Nice hot showers with good pressure. The property was beautiful and the creek was bigger than expected. The location was also beautiful. We saw quite a bit of wildlife on the way. We walked to the market just down a little and across the street. There were restaurants and ice cream nearby. Also, opportunities for a great hike. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

Our family of four needed a quiet get away, and we enjoyed the beautiful days and evenings, inside and on the deck! Hikes nearby, spa nearby, restaurants, grocery, gas also nearby. Great resort year round! Lots of activities if you want them, and lots of peaceful nature if you want. Great!

Our spring weekend at the Critzer House was all that we hoped and more. Super clean and plenty of room for everyone to be together, and apart when we wanted; a gas grill to fix barbecue at home; and a lovely fire pit to enjoy in the evening. The location is perfect for those that want to enjoy all that the Nelson 150 Craft Beverage Trail has to offer. Can't recommend enough as the perfect place to stay!

This is a must stay. We stayed there for a family wedding at Lovingston Winery and it was perfect. Just 1-2 minutes from the winery, it is set in the countryside with some Mountain View’s. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating. It was perfect inside. There is plenty of space for 3 couples to hang out. The screened in porch is where we spent most of our time. There is a house next door that you can see but it still felt peaceful and private. If you like to cook, they have everything you will need. If you go make sure to visit Lovingston Winery and 12 Ridges!

Ed and Camille were amazing, they have a sweet apartment with a great Jacuzzi and pool. We were in town for a wedding and were blessed that Ed’s spot was open as it was only 15 minutes from the wedding venue. The apt was clean and everything was working, the kitchen was spotless as well. Ed and Camille were great, very communicative and nice people.

This little retreat is so peaceful and serene. It's the perfect place to unplug and just soak up the nature. The apartment was cozy and had all the right touches to make you feel at home.

It was really great for our family to get away for a few days over Thanksgiving! The property is beautiful and peaceful, and the suite was cozy. Overall we enjoyed the flexibility of having a few different rooms, being able to cook (as much as we needed/wanted to), and the fact that the earth room doesn't have windows allowed us to sleep in late. As far as amenities, the tub pretty amazing. I also really enjoyed peeking at some of the crafting books on the bookshelves - the cowgirl room in particular has a workshop feel that I enjoyed! Really grateful we were able to go on this trip - thank you!

First of all let me just say, the photos on the listing don't do this place justice. It's SPACIOUS with enough beds for about 8 people. This apartment is inside a camping ground with so much to do. The location is great, and a hidden gem. Plus there's endless hot water. I've stayed in other rentals in the Stuart's Draft area with very limited hot water. Be warned the wifi is spotty but that's ok because there's lots to enjoy. The hosts were very responsive and nice. I will come back here next time I'm in the area.

This is a great spot, you can walk to everything. The owners communicated well. The place is clean and a very nice unit. It is like being in a tree house. We love Eagles!

This was my second time visiting and my stay was even better than the last time! The hosts were great at communicating and very flexible about check in time. The unit is close to so many fun places to explore! And not too far from other towns with even more shops and activities. Can’t recommend this stay enough and I would love to stay again! Beautiful scenery. Lovely roads to walk up and down. We were too cold for the pool, but got plenty of use out of the fire pit. We enjoyed ourselves. There were a couple kinks along the way, but the host always responded when we reached out and addressed our concerns right away.

We loved our stay in the apartment. It was clean and beautifully decorated which made us feel relaxed and at home. The local breweries and cideries were all fun with great food and drinks. An endless amount of hiking and exploring in the area.

This cabin offers a lot of solitude . . . the road runs deep into the woods. Everything was clean and as advertised. We were with our daughter, who was through-hiking the Appalachian Trail. There is an AT crossing a few hundred yards south of the cabin, and so was able to walk right up Spy Rock Road to the cabin and check in before we arrived from Richmond airport. Both Mike and Beth were very helpful and responsive. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Great location for a summer trip to the area! Lots of amenities in the house and just as described.

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

This place was as advertised and a perfect peaceful getaway with cows within yards of the cabin. Wil was also a very gracious host and made our stay well worth it.

This was a beautiful experience for us. We loved this gem of an Airbnb, giving a grand adventure from the trip there to the fire under starry night sky. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked and extremely helpful. The cabin itself was very attractive and clean. The location was private and surrounded by nature, which is just what we were hoping for. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay!

Perfect Place for our College Girls Reunion …. The home is located in a private and beautiful area. The kitchen, bedrooms, bath are all well equipped with anything you need. The host left of some fun treats and wine. We had a wonderful stay.

This is our second year in a row that we stayed here for our annual family retreat (me, my wife and adult children with their partners). We loved it the first time and it was every bit as good the second. The house is in a beautiful peaceful setting tucked away in the woods with a mountain view. We spent most of our time during the day out on the decks, which were very comfortable with plenty of seating, outdoor couches and tables. We also took advantage of the fire pit. The house is actually much larger in size than how it looks . There is a good-sized living room with huge couch and large TV. Everyone had private rooms, which were very clean and comfortable with excellent furnishings. The kitchen was fully supplied for our cooking needs. Whenever we had a question Breanna was very quick to respond. If you're looking for a true getaway, I highly recommend staying here.

Sarah’s place is simply adorable! My husband and I felt right at home and wished we could have stayed longer. We loved it and hope to come back again soon.
