Right from the time we stepped onto Fraser's James Bond boat we knew we were in for a wonderful experience. Fraser and Karen are the most warm, relaxed, friendly, generous and salt of the earth hosts who opened their cottage, their home and their hearts to us. The cottage has everything you need and is in one of the most amazing locations. We used the paddle board, kayak and fishing rods and the bay was a safe and glorious place to explore. We needed a quiet, peaceful place for 5 nights to unwind and recharge our batteries and that is exactly what happened. We highly recommend Fraser and Karen's cottage and you will not be disappointed with your choice.

Kaka cottage is a v special place. Somewhere to spend time, think, observe, or just to have a wonderful holiday. The peacefulness and beauty of this place are a given. Then there is the thoughtful and careful provision - the bed is comfortable and an extra blanket was welcome as the evenings in May are cool. The daybed by the big window is the place to watch the birds, the sky, the trees. Plentiful books and games. Ecostore products. Alongside this, simplicity. A different way of living - leaving as light a footprint as possible. The locals are v friendly. The Barrier Way is to stop and talk, to find out a little about people, and to be generous with time, help, information, a lift, a smile. The bird life around the house is astonishing. Fantails flicker like butterflies around the greenery, kaka mobbed by tuis in the nearby tree. And the night sky is indescribably beautiful on a clear night. The Milky Way splashed between Orion to the North and Scorpio to the South. Wonderful
