***Access to the matchbox is contactless and we are following Covid-19 regulations. We live in a separate tiny home on the property, but you won't need to have contact with us. Hand sanitiser is provided.*** The matchbox gives you the chance to check out tiny house living in a great location. It is a quirky, self-contained space on a view-filled plot a short walk from central New Plymouth. At 18sq m, it has a comfy queen bed, full bathroom, and porch with kitchenette.
“Fabulous little tiny home exactly as pictured. Beautiful peaceful bush outlook so you can enjoy eating breakfast at the brekkie bar while gazing down into the valley below. Had the opportunity to watch a family of pukekos one morning. The kitchen porch opens via a tilt-a-door. There is also one over the breakfast bar opening to the view. Great shower, one of the best we had so far and the best, most comfy bed! The bed is cleverly designed to pull out from the wall and is disguised as a couch during the day. Fantastic location, walking distance to town and Pukekura Park for the light festival. Thanks very much letting us enjoy this special place and hope to be back again one day. Glen - Thanks for being a great host!!”
A newly converted self contained studio apartment. Own entrance, double bed, bathroom, kitchenette comprising fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and kitchen sink. Tea, coffee & milk provided. Free on street parking directly outside and a view of Mount Taranaki. A 3-4 minute drive from the city centre and beach. A 2 minute walk from the beautiful Te Henui walkway which leads to the sea via the river.
“Secure, private, spotless, nicely furnished self-contained unit overlooking garden, great shower, tea/coffee plus breakfast supplies in fridge, on-street parking right outside main house. 1 hour’s drive from Dawson Falls Visitor Centre and a range of short or long walks/hikes on Mt Egmont, less than 5 mins drive to East End beach on the coastal walkway. Unfortunately didn’t meet the host as we were both unwell during my short stay but we communicated by text and responses were swift. Thanks for a great stay, Sally!”
The whole experience is to give guests full privacy so they feel the environment is their home. Guests most likely will not see me but I am a mum of two cats named Archie and Elvis who are very friendly and might pop in and say hi. A five minute drive to the city centre, foreshore walkway, beaches, Pukekura Park, Aquatic Centre, Govett Brewster Art Gallery, muesum and supermarkets or a 20 minute walk.
“Great space and easy to get into town. Communication was friendly and timely. It was great to have a fully functioning small kitchen with lots of nice touches (condiments, tea, coffee, yoghurt etc). We adored the cats! Can highly recommend this airbnb.”
