Enjoy your stay in this simple flat in an old house between Hieflau at the Enns river and Eisenerz, the medieval mining town for iron. Listen to the rushing Alpine river Erzbach; climb some peaks in the surrounding Alps or swim in the lake Leopoldsteinersee in a 10km bike ride on a cycle path. Update June 2025: works started to build a water power station on the river below the house. As a result there might be noise between 8am and 4 pm on weekdays and the river bank is not accessible.

The former barn is originally converted into a holiday home of a special kind, 144 m² on two levels. Surrounded by 2 ha of meadow, 1 ha of forest, a place for retreat, for family holidays, for "Simply Being in Hollenstein." Swimming, tennis, cycling (Ybbstag cycle path right outside the door), hiking, skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing right by the house if the snow allows! 3 km from the center of Hollenstein, very good infrastructure.

The apartment is on a farm, alone in the middle of a large clearing, which I am building as an organic farm with permaculture. We had an almost unbelievable "Winter Wonderland" experience in the villa during the days around New Year's despite the snow-free landscape all around: fantastic views from the windows of the white snow-covered trees already at breakfast, then the impressive hike along the Nothklamm ... We definitely want to come back in the summer to swim in the river and hike more ... Renate was wonderfully generous, easily accessible. Everything really great available, the house so beautifully renovated! Thanks

Super place, small but nice. We fed ourselves and had everything we needed to cook. Very quiet area, right at the Hochkar and many other mountains. If you want to go hiking and are looking for absolute peace, you are in good hands with Karin.

Beautiful cottage with everything you need to feel comfortable. I was immediately delighted with the house and the property. The view was fantastically beautiful. The house was very well equipped and very clean. We didn't lack anything. We have been surprised several times by Birgit & Martin with nice little things. I can 100% recommend the house with everything you need. We'll be happy to come back.

Really a very, very nice stay! The house is really something special, great, impeccable, tasteful, fully equipped to the last detail. The outdoor facilities are beautiful, spacious, with great views and everything very neat. The hosts are very nice and likeable and have thought of everything, from the equipment, labeling, recommendations in writing. We were there as a family with three children (6, 10, 12) and felt completely comfortable. It is really a very, very good recommendation in its entirety!

We had wonderful days in the mountains and can recommend the spacious accommodation. Although you are not entirely alone, as the chalet is located in an alpine village, which consists of about 65 holiday homes. But the top row location gives Marcus' house the best panoramic mountain views and this view is truly phenomenal! The accommodation is equipped with everything you need, the large terrace invites you to linger. The house is a good starting point for hikes, restaurants are within walking distance and there is also a small supermarket for the essentials. All in all, a very nice vacation home.
