I absolutely recommend staying in the delightful apartment of Giuseppina and Giovanni, located in the center of the beautiful village of San Severino Lucano, with a wonderful view of the valley. Mr. Giovanni was very helpful and welcomed us with great kindness, providing us with several useful tips for our stay.

Pierangelo was helpful and very kind from the first interaction. We were welcomed by his father Francesco, who was also a really lovely person! The house is really beautiful, surrounded by greenery but not isolated, easy to access, at the edge of a delightful forest. Mr. Francesco built outdoor tables to dine outside, under the trees, in absolute peace. For those who, like me and my mother, love nature it is really the ideal place!! It was all very clean and with all the comforts, from the TV to the microwave; the kitchen was equipped with all the necessary kitchenware to cook meals to enjoy on the beautiful terrace!! It was a perfect stay, we really hope to be able to return soon to this peaceful oasis!

We loved the warm greeting from Antonio's mother and her explanation of how the place worked and the delicious homemade cakes and jam! The garden is beautifully laid out and tended with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The house was insect-free with good fitting fly screens on all windows and shutters. The fire was already prepared and lit when we arrived in May and we used it throughout our stay in the evenings. Had it been warmer we would have used the outside kitchen area and barbecue. Our 5 night stay passed all too quickly and we would love to return and walk further in the Pollino National Park.

Maria’s home was perfect, beautiful location, immaculate, beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you will need. The bed was comfortable and the view from the bedroom balcony was heavenly - especially first thing in a morning when you open the doors to mist settling over the mountains and the silent ancient town below. The rooftop terrace also offers amazing views and is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. Tortorella is a hidden gem, a town where time has stood still for many years, come evening the area is literally silent. Incredibly peaceful, the most authentic rural Italian experience you’re ever likely to find. Maria was so much more than an airb&b host, she went above and beyond to make our stay special, introducing us to the lovely locals and even acting as a personal tour guide on our final evening. Always available for advice and recommendations. This is a trip we will never forget and we will definitely return.
