Owners are next door. River and marina short block away within walking distance. Grocery store half a block away within walking distance. Downtown less than a mile. Galena about half hour. Iowa 5 min away and casino in Iowa 20-25 min. Palisades State Park 5 min away. This is a cozy cottage with use of deck and grill, and full amenities to cook in house if you like. Nancy and Grant’s place is absolutely adorable! There is such a coziness and charm about the entire house. We could have stayed there for days! It was walking distance to the restaurant that we wanted to go to which was awesome. And our hosts were very great at communicating with us at any time. We will definitely be staying here again! We took a very last-minute trip from Chicago over Memorial Day weekend and ended up having the best time! We truly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside, and our kids absolutely loved interacting with all the animals. Just as promised, their sweet dog Teddy greeted us upon arrival, and their goat Goose made a fun morning appearance. Joan and Jean were both incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We had a small issue the first night (completely out of their control), but they responded promptly and went out of their way to ensure it was resolved quickly. The location is great—peaceful and relaxing, yet close enough to explore nearby spots like Galena and even Dubuque, IA, which is just under an hour away. It was exactly the kind of getaway we needed to unplug from the hustle and bustle of city and work life. Thank you again for everything—we hope to be back soon!

Brook's place is beautifully renovated and had lots of space from my family of 5 plus 2 extra adults. It was kept nice and cool which was very refreshing on muggy days. It is walkable to downtown and parks. The neighborhood was very quiet and felt safe.

This was the nicest rental I have ever stayed in! The quality of everything was top of the line, and Joe and Kelly spared absolutely NO expense to make this space truly fabulous. From the quality of the appliances and furniture, to the beautiful details in every room, to the handwritten card welcoming us and local chocolate and wine (which were delicious)...there was absolutely not a thing that could have made our stay better (other than staying longer!). We saw rabbits, tons of birds, turkey vultures, hawks, deer, chipmunks, and squirrels, and enjoyed seeing the animals in their natural environment. What a spectacular view! My boyfriend (whose birthday we were celebrating) said it was the nicest house he's ever been in, period. If you're a fan of FL Wright, you will adore this house and all the details that show the love and appreciation for his work. We will most definitely come back, it was worth every penny! Thank you, Joe and Kelly, for being as amazing as your cabin! :)
