Monthly Rentals in Malpais

Maria and Martin are wonderful hosts. The house is beautiful and lots of natural light. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Walking distance to Playa Mar Azul with great tide pools for little ones. Short drive to town but outside of busy Santa. The wifi was fine for personal use but not suitable for business if you are planning to work on your stay. The property is lovely but there is no ocean view as the photos listed suggest. Otherwise as pictured and lovely all around!

Adi was a fantastic host and had a beautiful property. He was very kind and made us feel right at home. He gave us all the privacy we needed. I am not sure if I missed this in the description of the property but we had the use of cleaners at no extra cost whenever we wanted, much like a hotel. We only used the service once but it was a nice touch. There is another suite above but we rarely saw them. The pool would be shared but again, they used the pool at different times. You can hear the roar of the waves from the property which is lovely even though it is maybe 400 meters through the trees and across the road. Mal Pais is a nice area to get out of hectic Santa Teresa and I would do this again. This has nothing to do with our excellent host but, to avoid disappointment, this is not a walk friendly area of Costa Rica. The roads are busy with ATV's and motorbikes and an awful lot of heavy equipment with no sidewalks. However, if you fancy a walk, the huge beaches slake that thirst.

This was the nicest yurt we have ever stayed at (mind you we have only stayed at 1 other yurt). But! It was well designed and the construction was very sturdy and hermetic! When you live in the jungle, construction means everything — it’s what keeps the outside from coming in. They were super communicative and kind. Also one of the highlights was befriending their dog Pepe. I will for sure miss him.

Great place right on the beach. Very friendly and responsive hosts that are always happy to help with recommendations ☺️ It was a short stay but I think we could easily stay here for a longer vacation, the kids were super happy with the beach and the waves, and we really enjoyed the homie feeling- there's just anything you might need to have a whole family vacation, with the luxury of a beach resort. We chose to take an extra cleaning service, just so we won't have to be busy doing dishes and stuff. They didn't charge much and we were very satisfied. All in all, highly recommended!
