Glamping in Lansdowne, Samskara & Samsara®

Kunwar Mohit SinghRating, 5 stars4 months ago
A Serene Escape into Nature’s Embrace Nestled in the heart of Lansdowne, this retreat is where nature sings in harmony. The cool mountain breeze carries the scent of pine, while the night sky shimmers with a million stars. Each sunrise paints the valley in golden hues, and the evenings whisper serenity, broken only by rustling leaves and distant bird calls. Our full-fledged outdoor tent stay was both cozy and adventurous, immersing us in nature’s rhythm. The staff was exceptionally polite and attentive, ensuring our comfort with warmth and efficiency. Though the host was not present, everything was managed flawlessly. This was my second visit, the first being with office colleagues, and the charm remains untouched. However, I truly missed Rudra, the humble German Shepherd, a loyal guardian and friend. For those seeking tranquility, adventure, and heartfelt hospitality, this retreat is a perfect escape. Can’t wait to return!

Nature Camp on Neer waterfall,Neerville,Rishikesh.

It was a steep trek to the place. You should carry only essentials for the stay. Thankfully we were informed before, and they had an option to leave at their hotel down near the town. It had stunning Mountain View with relaxing beds. Food was tasty. Overall we loved the stay.

RishisInternational Rishikesh- Retreat Into Nature

MedhaviRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Stuti’s place is more a welcoming home than just a property—beautifully cared for, tranquil, and set apart from the usual hill stays. From the moment I enquired about the place, she was attentive, prompt, and genuinely considerate. Every meal was freshly prepared and we shared wonderful, engaging conversations over food (she even baked me a wonderful cake for my b’day). The small hike to her home means you wake up to birdsong and rustling leaves, not city noise. When my cab booking fell through, Stuti went above and beyond—arranging a ride to a nearby café, staying in touch, and coordinating with a cab company to ensure I reached the airport on time. Her dedication and warmth made my stay truly unforgettable. If you’re seeking a peaceful retreat with a host who truly cares, you can’t do better than Stuti’s place. I can’t wait to return when the place reopens. Thank you, Stuti, for making me feel so at home.

The place is a few minutes off the main highway. Ideal for a break journey to Chopta - Tungnath from Dehra Dun (half ways) or for just chilling out for a couple of days. Clean and comfortably furnished. Its very peaceful and the Alaknanda river can be seen flowing from the doorstep.

Hilltop Haven

VikasRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A cosy home away from the hustle of usual hill stations. A very well thought out availability of amenities in addition to the usual ones. Books, Garden, Indoor games; surprise surprise, my son enjoyed the Electric Guitar with a nice Amp. Beautiful view of the valley, sadly it was mostly cloudy in mornings. It would make a beautiful sunrise view. Small details ensured that it felt like living in a home rather than a resort. Loads of quilts, pillows and cushions to keep you comfy. The caretaker made good homely food. It's away from crowd, a challenging last 500 meters drive, recommended for folks who wish to enjoy solitude and chirping birds.

Bir Terraces : Utopia in the hills!

Our stay here was honestly a dream! The property, the staff and the food were all better than we could have hoped for. Dushyant and Avanti have really spent the time and energy making sure their guests feel at home and taken care of! We spent 3 nights at the property. And we’re helped with recommendations for things to do (we picked a waterfall swim and the kasar devi temple), as well as taken of a beautiful sunset hike organised by the caretaker. We had fabulous company in their 6 dogs and 2 kitten and their amazing caretaker (Kalpesh) . All in all we wished we stayed on an extra day because no one wanted to leave this little slice of paradise. Some notes for future guests: - The journey was long but worth it, best to be prepped though with snack etc for the journey. - You’re in the midst of nature, so be prepped for nature to also make its way to your room. - the food is INSANELY good, bring stretchy pants. You’ll need them. It’s safe to say we’ll be back again soon!

The Sunshine Room

You know that moment where you’re not nostalgic but glimpse tomorrow’s nostalgia coming when its time to leave a stellar place? That’s the undertow as I write this review. Its true what they say ‘people make the place’ and for us it was Sanjay’s genie-high-spiritedness to make wishes come true (from candle light dinner to fetching mutton for dinner), to Harish’s lordly but accurate self-assurity of cooking the best meals (from pahadi mutton to his special continental tandoori chicken) and Manoj’s (our go to guy before the stay) oddly inspiring alacrity- that left us agog. As a native of Garhwal, being deterred by Lansdowne’s thinly populated areas with little to offer activity-wise would be wilfully missing the point; but when we reached The Umri- we were squealing with pleasure because we knew we would’nt have to step out to deliberately entertain ourselves- and that’s what we did. Out of the 2 floors, we opted for the bottom one which had more privacy because kitchen wasn’t there
