Waterfront vacation rentals in La Plata County

We are an older active couple and Durango was a lovely town to spend a week in. Kayaking, the train to Silverton and so much more to fill your time. Donna’s home is perfectly located to just about everything. It gave us just want we needed. We liked relaxing in the Ash tree grove, & being near Animas River and the train tracks. Millie the cat kept us sweet company.

What a wonderful lake house! There’s 2 full kitchens, 3 full baths, and three floors of living space- it’s a wonderful spot to spread out or house multiple families. The best part is the gorgeous view of the lake from the many windows and beautiful porch. The hummingbird feeder attracts hundreds of visits every day. The hosts are gracious and communicative. Don’t hesitate to book this place- it has everything you need and more.

I stayed here while in town for work and had a great experience. The location was convenient and easy to find. The space itself was clean, quiet, and perfect for getting rest after long days. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

If you want a place to relax, this is it. Lesley is a wonderful host and her home is exactly what it looks like in the photos and it's beautiful and clean and wonderful. She responds quickly to questions and her home is clean and bright. Don't pass up a chance to stay there!

Brittany’s place was very nice! We loved the location with the river & the train. The apartment had very nice finishes. All the linens were very nice and the bed was great! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals. Lovely place. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful Airbnb in Durango, CO! The home was incredibly spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to spread out and relax. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to cook meals together, and we really appreciated all the thoughtful touches and amenities. One of the highlights was the hot tub—it was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. And being right on the river made the whole experience even more peaceful and scenic. Whether we were sitting outside with a cup of coffee or catching up with friends in the living room, this place was the perfect spot to relax and reconnect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable, serene getaway with friends or family!

This 5 Star review is for the property managers but the property gets 5 Stars as well. The management company did an excellent job in what turned out to be a difficult situation. Because they were proactive and responsive…my family and I were able to get past the speed bump we encountered with an unruly neighbor In the end, we all enjoyed our vacation problem free and have great memories to remember! This property was amazing and straight out of fairytale book. The management company showed they cared by going out of their way to accommodate our situation. Great work and thank you!

I highly recommend The Nest. Amazing outdoor space + lake view, stylish interior decor, super comfy beds, well stocked kitchen. There are a lot of thoughtful touches that made our stay really special. Kelly was proactive with directions and instructions. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely stunning! I stayed here to introduce my fiancé to my grandparents- I’ve been coming to this area for over a decade and I HIGHLY recommend! Very roomy and clean, the kitchen was the group favorite, natural light, and an awesome backyard to hang out in! The hosts were so kind and generous- they even made us a hand made loaf of bread that was delicious 😭 I recommended it to family friends already!

Fantastic place to catch some sleep after a long day of hiking or hunting. Very well heated and has (2) bathrooms with showers so no waiting. Kitchen is perfect for cooking meals and easy to clean up. Garage doors are awesome because you can back your vehicle right up to them and unload through garage door into house.

Beautiful view and setting! Such an unusual venue in a gorgeous environment! There is an amazing wall of glass overlooking the mountains. This is definitely a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is equipped gourmet in appliances. You will need to bring your own food essentials. Basic dishes, cutlery and pots and pans provided but not for large crowd. (Limited pots and pans, utensils). This is the place to truly relax and lean in. The veil is thin here. Easy access to civilization with Durango and Mancos very close. Yet there’s also easy access to deep wilderness. The perfect balance! WiFi is strong. Ron is extremely easy to communicate with about the property and local spots he would recommend. Great host!

Lana’s barn/cottage was just what we were looking for! It was absolutely precious! Everything was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. It is surrounded by beautiful grounds with magnificent scenery. So very quiet and peaceful, but only a short distance (about 5 miles) from all that Durango has to offer! We especially loved our afternoons having coffee out on the porch and our relaxing evenings sipping wine while enjoying the view and nice crisp air! Lana and her family were very friendly and responded immediately to any questions we had; while at the same time respecting our privacy. We would certainly stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay while in town for the weekend. Would definitely stay there again in the future if possible. Distance from town is about 15m and was very reasonably priced for the weekend
