The four of us (4 adults) had plenty of room, comfortable furniture/beds and fully stocked kitchen equipment. Viðar and Bryndís are responsive and accommodating hosts. Location made city attractions (museums, churches, walking) and day trips (Golden Circle, puffin tour, sky Lagoon, Snaelfellsnes Peninsula) simple. We were always happy to return to this home that felt like an island of peace.

Beautiful dwelling unit in their home, private, quiet area, hosts were wonderful. Very kind and gave us recommendations of places to visit. Less than 10 minute drive to downtown with shopping centers and grocery stores nearby.

A beautiful and peaceful place in a neighborhood of new construction, far enough away from the crowd and tourists downtown but close enough to get there in 20min by car when desired. Easy access to the Golden Circle. Was perfect for my family and having two bathrooms was particularly nice. Communication was always quick and excellent.

I recently stayed at this fantastic Airbnb. The location was ideal, just a short drive from the city center, offering easy access to local shops and restaurants. The vibrant neighborhood was peaceful, making us feel right at home. The property itself was a standout, featuring impressive amenities. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep a joy, with modern appliances and ample cookware at our disposal. The stylish living space, complete with a cozy couch and high-quality entertainment system, was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Fast Wi-Fi ensured we stayed connected when needed. The host was incredibly responsive, providing excellent recommendations for local dining and attractions.

Stayed here for a night to explore the city before heading to the airport the next day. The hot water did have a strong sulfur smell, but other than that, the place was as described. We appreciated the coffee and the washing machine. Loved the location and that everything was so walkable. Bring eye masks for sleeping and be prepared to heat things up the old fashioned way without a microwave. We also appreciated the quick responses when we had questions. The house was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. Check-in was easy, and the location was simple to find. The views were stunning, and enjoying coffee on the deck each morning was a highlight. The drive to Reykjavik and nearby attractions was very manageable (about 30 minutes for most places we visited). One helpful tip: consider where you'll spend most of your time. We explored the southern coast mostly and didn’t fully realize how tiring longer drives would feel after full days out. This is by no means a downside to the house or its location—both were wonderful! It’s simply a helpful tip for others planning their itinerary: take travel times into consideration based on your daily plans. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and truly appreciated the comfort and beauty of this home and our host was great!

A lovely apartment in a convenient and quiet neighbourhood next to the centre of Reykjavik. Very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Pétur is a superb host, very communicative, and made us feel right at home for the few days we stayed.

Everything was fine with the accommodation. Milad answers questions quickly. Parking is great. Fully equipped kitchen.

Biggest concern we have when we travel is a good night’s sleep. One of the main deciding factors for choosing this place was that several people had commented on a comfortable bed. It did not disappoint. We slept great! Location was great for us as it was just outside the city. Host was super responsive and accommodating. If there was something you needed but didn’t have, she would happily get it. We would definitely stay there again!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Jon’s Penthouse. It was easy walking distance to all the main sights in Reykjavik, plus there were many restaurants and groceries close by. Since there was an elevator to the fourth floor, it was easy to manage with luggage. Even though it is in the city, we never heard any noise. The apartment is very tidy and has all the amenities needed for a nice stay. We did not totally understand how to use the hot spot, but did not need it since we had eSIMs. Each evening we watched a variety of movies on Netflix, which were much appreciated. Although it was pleasant when we arrived at the end of May, by the beginning of June a huge storm arrived and it was so windy, I could barely stand when walking. However, Jon’s place is a warm and quiet oasis in a storm.

Kristin and her husband were delightful. The apartment was perfect for the four of us. No television, which was great to be away from the media! I would definitely stay with them again.

We stayed at Gunnar’s apartment for a week during our visit to Reykjavík. The location was good and pretty central to restaurants and attractions we wanted to visit. We did rent a car which made travel much easier and the parking was abundant and not too expensive. The apartment itself was clean overall although some areas had some dust. No complaints here, it wasn’t a big deal. Gunnar did advertise that the apartment house(d) two cats but as someone with cat allergies I had no problem with any fur or cat dander. FYI, across Iceland the hot water is heated geothermically which gives off a sulfur smell, so don’t be alarmed. Thanks Gunnar, for allowing us to stay at your apartment during the week! Ken + Jenn

This was a great place to stay during our time in Reykjavik. It’s very easy to get to everything the city has to offer, but it is far enough away from the city center to be a peaceful quiet place to stay. We had everything we needed and more here. I’m so glad we were able to stay here, and would highly recommend it!

Stop! Look no further if you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Reykjavik. This penthouse is spacious, beautifully decorated, very well equipped for whatever you may need, and sparkling clean. The hosts were fantastic— they communicated with us clearly and honestly and provided everything they said they would. We recommend them as highly as possible and would definitely return here on our next Icelandic adventure.

This stay was such a highlight of our trip! We really enjoyed the location in a beautiful peaceful neighborhood, right next to the bike/ walking path that you can take into downtown. Helgi and Titti are the best hosts! We felt welcomed as if we were one of their neighbors. Such a joy to hang out in the garden and drink coffees and pet their dog :) they have lots of good local reccommendations. Can’t imagine a better place to stay either as a couple or a solo traveller- can’t wait to be back one day, a very special place.

My wife and I stayed with our 16 month baby and had a great time. It is in a great community with lots of parks. The place was well stocked and had everything we needed for our toddler (high chair, crib, plates, toys etc.). We would highly recommend for a small family. Arndis was very responsive and helpful during our stay.

I cannot recommend this condo enough. This was a great place right outside of Reykjavík that allowed us to quickly go into town and provided a great jumping off point for our tours. The condo was welcoming and very clean - it is exactly how the photos and description describe it. The amenities were great, and the laundry was wonderful after long days. Also, Hannes was a phenomenal host. He allowed us to check in early because of an early morning flight, and was extremely responsive to any question I had. I cannot wait to return and rebook this condo. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Hannes for your hospitality!

We enjoyed our stay at Oddny’s airbnb. We appreciated the flexible check in and check out times. She was a friendly host and a good communicator. The place is really clean. It has a homey feeling-beautiful light, unique art, an abundance of books, and live plants. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. The shower had great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The place was in good walking distance to attractions, restaurants, and shopping. A coffee shop is just down the block. It was our first time at an airbnb with a cat and we really enjoyed this experience. Moli was a well behaved, independent cat who made the trip extra special (no litter box to clean).
