The place is 10 km from the local center and 40 km from the city center of Vaasa, the capital of the Pohjanmaa/Österbotten county. The region is about 50:50 bilingual finnish-swedish speaking, but the archipelago is nearly 100 % Swedish speaking. Many people speak both languages. English is a common foreign language. You get by with english very well.

A marked nature trail starts right next to the cottage, a children’s playground is about one kilometer away, and both a rowing boat and a barrel sauna – available all year round – are free to use.
