Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Island of Ortigia

We loved this beautiful apartment, large bedroom and bathroom with great wooden ceilings. Lots of character with beautiful fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable bed. Great powerful and hot shower. Lots of lovely toiletries available to use together with some food and drinks supplied. Such a lovely touch to our stay. Shared balcony was great to sit on and have breakfast and drinks later on. Situated in a fabulous spot in Ortigia, right in the heart of everything, lots of bars and restaurants yet very quiet apartment. Host responds quickly to any questions.

Wow — this place was absolutely incredible! The photos truly don’t do it justice. The views were breathtaking, the location was unbeatable, and everything about our stay exceeded expectations. The service and accommodations were spot on — very helpful, very friendly, and made us feel right at home. Everything you need is within walking distance, and you’re in the ocean within 60 seconds. We’re already dreaming about coming back, hopefully for a full month next time. Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality! Highly recommend.

The apartment corresponded exactly to the pictures, full of beautiful and crazy details! The host was super friendly, accommodating and helpful. He gave us many tips, even took care of our car rental and offered a great shuttle service. The handover was in person, everything sparkling clean. We were completely satisfied and would be happy to come back! We loved it 🥰

Good location within walking distance to sites, shops and restaurants! Clean and modern. Nice view of marina from upstairs bedroom!! Marcello provided a great list of places to go to and see! Convenient parking nearby if you need it. When the construction out front ends, the walkway will be a welcome edition. Euros requested for the tourist tax so remember to have exact change.

Beautiful renovated apartment in the center of Ortigia.

I dearly love Marco’s home which checks every box. Location is great! It’s like 3-minute walking to Train, Bus and Local Bus station which connect me to Noto, Modica and Fontane Bianche in sweat-free matter. Plus, there are multiple eatery options nearby like Onda Blue (love its Fasolari soooo much), Il Matto (affordable yummiest Pizza) and Fuori Ortigia (pretty good Calamari) and La dogana (sublime Carbonara). The house is clean and surprisingly silent from the noise I was worried upon staying in the house though it’s very near a transportation hub of the city. Air conditioner works well and so does shower. Most importantly, Marco himself is such a nice host. I do recommend his nice place.

Book with your eyes closed 👍We just spent 3 nights from 16 to 19 /10/2024, in Casa di Mauro , which totally matches the photos and descriptions. Ideally located near the temple of Apollo , we were quiet in this charming ultra clean, functional accommodation, equipped with everything that makes a place comfortable and above all tastefully decorated. The bedding is ultra comfortable . In addition , we enjoyed the warm welcome from our host, Maria . Thank you for his listening, his pro activity, his responsiveness and all his attention that brings the little more magical in the rental... water bottles and toilet products. Thank you also for his good tips and for the great places for lunch and dinner. All the ingredients were there to fully enjoy our stay in Syracuse in the heart of Ortigia and we felt in the accommodation very comfortable as home.…the experience delighted us and we will come back . The apartment is huge and in a great central location. We walked everywhere. It's surrounded by fab bars and restaurants. The view from the small balconies is beautiful and we loved seeing the sea through the sitting room windows when we came in the front door. As someone else mentioned, there has obviously been a water leak at some point which could do with sorting and a couple of other areas could do with some tlc. Overall, we loved the apartment and would definitely stay here again.

What a fabulous location for exploring Ortigia, we loved the apartment and definitely recommend! Very spacious, well equipped property with everything needed (including air conditioning units in each room, shutters on each window, washing machine and drying racks both inside and out, plenty of towels, comfy beds etc). We mainly walked everywhere from the apartment, choosing not to hire a car, although parking is available. Easy check in met by the host at an agreed time. Huge list of eatery recommendations shared by the hosts which we enjoyed a few of (including superb gelateria!). The local market with super selection of fruit, veg, cheese etc was just a couple of minutes walk away, ultra convenient! We also took a boat trip from a provider that we could see from the apartment.

My wife and I traveled to Ortigia with our daughter for her 25th birthday. This home checked all the boxes when we booked it. Location on the water, nice modern home, walking distance to everything we wanted to see. But, when we got there, it was so much more amazing than we could have imagined. The home is beautiful - on the water with a stunning rooftop deck and amazing sunsets. Its situated right in the heart of Ortigia next to Fountain Arethusa. Walk out the front door onto the cobble streets to restaurants, coffee bars, shops. Turn right and walk a few minutes to Castello Maniace. Turn left and walk a few minutes to the Piazza Duomo. Yolande was an amazing host. Communication was great. Answered all my questions and helped find us a driver for the week which turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. Our driver, Beppe, was born in Ortigia and taught us more about Sicily during our car rides than any guide we could have round. Grazie Yolande!

Perfect place to be if you go to Ortigia - everything walking distance!!!

Would definitely stay here again. Marisa was super kind and let us keep our bags at the apartment even after we checked out so we could walk around more. The apartment had a lovely balcony view as well. Great location.

If we ever find ourselves in Ortigia again (and I certainly hope we do) I know where we’re staying! Alessandra was a great host and her space is perfect for a couple.

Andrea made us feel so at home. Not only did he greet us upon arrival, but he also had stocked the kitchen with some speciality food items and wine. He was incredibly responsive and provided us many wonderful local recommendations. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Fantastic 3 weeks at Francesco`s beautiful apartment - superbly located on Isola Ortigia, an absoultely spectacular place. Lively even during winter and a number of sights (Neapolis is a must!). Went to the food market for fish and greens and made dinner at home every other day or so. Otherwise a number of very good restaurants within a 500m radius. Breakfast and lunches on the spectacular terrase, short/t-shirt at least half the days (when in the sun) even during winter. Francesco was very helpful when we needed some minor assistance with heating and dishwasher. The heating system was the best I have every come across in Italy - water heated radiators, not only the usual A/C. All in ll - spotless!

Amazing stay! Great location, just steps from the old town of Ortigia and close to everything. The authentic, beautiful building with a sea view was a real highlight. The place was very clean, cozy, and felt just like home. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway!

Amazing air BnB - awesome roof terrace!

I had a great stay at this apartment! It was very clean, comfortable, and just like the photos. The owner was easy to reach and always helpful. The only small downside for me was the bed—it was a bit too soft for my preference. Of course, that’s a matter of personal taste and what you’re used to, so others might find it perfectly comfortable. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place and would stay here again without hesitation!

great apartment and being away for several weeks with a bit of luggage, appreciated the ground floor well appointed, comfortable and clean. Christiana was extremely responsive as well

We are delighted with these three days spent in Syracuse at Fabio's. The accommodation is extremely well located right next to Ortigia. We easily found a place to park. The accommodation is well equipped and very quiet. Fabio is always available to answer any questions we may have. I recommend it.

My partner and I stayed at Cristina’s place for 3 nights in the first part of our Sicily holiday. The apartment was peaceful, clean and quiet with everything you need. The courtyard area was great for some fresh air and eating breakfast. Pleasantly surprised at how much bigger the space was in person- plenty of room. The walk to Ortigia was around 10 minutes and was fine to do if you do not have any mobility issues. The apartment is in a residential area so short walk to some local shops/bakeries. Cristina is a wonderful host who replied very quickly and readily provided information. Thank you again Cristina :)
