Charming 1BR Suite by Hot Springs National Park

I liked place was quiet slept like a baby! We had neighbors and could never hear them, that was as a plus. Also, walking distance to Central Avenue, did not have to waste time parking. Bathroom a tad small, not an issue for us, someone large might be uncomfortable small shower. Plan to return and check out unit with larger shower. Kitchenette a plus! Surrounding neighborhood safe! Thank you for offering a nice place!!

Absolutely wonderful stay at Robert’s place. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Love the screened in patio. The beds are extremely comfortable as well as the pillows. Very clean and had everything we needed and then some. The large TV’s in every room are awesome. Lots of games, puzzles, dvd’s and a fully equipped kitchen. Literally could not ask for anything more. Can’t wait until we visit again next time!

Serene with Panoramic Vistas | Hot Tub | Fire Pit

Our stay at Manav's home was great from start to finish. Our family of 8 enjoyed everything. Communication was clear and incredibly helpful. All the necessary details were provided for a smooth check-in/out and there’s a guestbook offering local recommendations for restaurants, things to do, and places to go. The property itself was beautifully decorated and felt incredibly welcoming. We especially loved the well-equipped kitchen, the comfortable beds, and the stunning views. The location was perfect. It was out of the way and private with easy access to downtown and everything you could want or need.

Whittington Avenue Victorian with Private Garden

MeganRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The home was incredible! Beautifully decorated and it felt like walking back in time. The house manual is robust with everything we needed and how to operate the appliances. Anything confusing was properly labeled which helped a ton! Every room was incredible, but the kitchen and the bathtub were highlights. The garden was lovely to sit in to read and watch the critters and birds from all around us. We were able to walk to the bathhouses and the alligator farm which were fun sights to see. John responded quickly to all questions and we would love to come back next time we’re in hot springs.

Bloom house, historic downtown

GretchenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had such a nice stay at Karen’s home. The home is in a perfect location for exploring Hot Springs and the surrounding points of interest. Her home is a perfect mix of vintage/MCM charm and modern amenities—a very eclectic mix of furnishings and artwork that makes a guest feel right at home. Homemade cookies greeted us when we checked in (delicious!) and it was so nice to have coffee/water/snacks provided as well. The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We spent our days exploring the historic sites as well as several “honey holes” that Karen recommended. We look forward to a return visit and staying at Karen’s home again soon. Fantastic host!

Farr Shores Lakeview Retreat

DustinRating, 5 stars1 day ago
The mirrors and windows really made the place stand out and I loved it. I always like to stay out on the porch and this one was perfect. For hours at a time without a phone or tablet. The sounds of the water, the birds chirping, and nobody disturbing you. The lake with the mountains in the background was a great view. There’s turtles sunbathing and geese flying it all was so beautiful. And the place felt so clean as well. I never second-guessed any surface I touched like I do at some places. Loved how it was just about 20 minutes away from downtown but a gorgeous drive there and back

It seemed like it was a hundred miles from town because it was so peaceful, but town was a half mile away. The interior was amazing , it was decorated from a lot of different time frames. The tv and movie room was amazing. He had everything that anyone would need. Plenty of towels and the beds were great. If you have never been to Hot Springs Arkansas, this is the place to stay. The Eagles Nest w/ Hot Tub- A couples Getaway!

AmyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My husband and I loved staying here! Beautiful inside and out! The adjustable bed was a huge bonus and very comfortable. We were able to host some family members one evening and cook for them - kitchen had everything we needed. We were surprised to find out you need to supply your own toilet paper - they only provide a starter roll - which we did not know until I messaged inquiring about where to find more. My daughter informed me this is not unusual these days! This was only our 2nd experience renting an AirBnb and it was awesome. The next time we visit family in Arkansas we will book again! Thank you to the hosts for sharing their beautiful property and providing such a nice home away from home for their guests.

We spent 5 wonderful days at the cabin and can verify that what you see in the listing is what you get. The cabin was spotless, cozy and well stocked with everything you need. My favorite spot was the screened in porch. I had my coffee there every morning while watching the wildlife and enjoying the sounds of nature. There are tons of things to do in the area. We spent most of our time exploring the local state and national parks. Our toy poodles got to come with us and the cabin was well equipped for them too! Would highly recommend this cabin if you’re coming to Hot Springs!

Perfect two nights in a very spacious 2 story home in a wooded setting. Decks off of kitchen and upstairs Master Bedroom. The stairs to the lake and dock are steep but I was certainly able to make the walk and I have a total knee replacement scheduled for July 14. The lake was not our primary interest for the time there. Garvan Woodland Garden, The Pancake Shop, Superior Bathhouse Brewery, shopping downtown, grilling on the patio. Great time !!

Your guide to Hot Springs

Introduction

Given Hot Springs’ name, it’s a safe guess the area’s numerous thermal mineral springs have played an important part in attracting locals and visitors alike over the years. In fact, the geothermally heated “healing” waters around the forested Ouachita Mountains earned the lands the designation as America’s first federal reservation all the way back in 1832, basically making it a national park four decades before Yellowstone earned that title. Today, Hot Springs codependently operates as both a city and a national park. Only two of the original bath houses remain along the city’s famous Bathhouse Row, but the bucolic beauty of the wooded mountains, including Hot Springs National Park and Lake Ouachita State Park, continue to attract tourists who have an affinity for hiking, camping, boating, biking, and water sports.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Hot Springs

Hot Springs enjoys mostly pleasant weather from May till late June. During those months, warm temperatures — with daytime highs in the 80s and 90s Fahrenheit — combine with a bearable humidity index to make outdoor activity comfortable. July, August, and September are months with the least chance of significant rainfall, but even so, if you’ve booked one of the cabins here, be prepared for unexpected sprinkles and perpetually muggy conditions that can feel oppressive to those unused to high humidity.

Come October and November, the chances of rain increase while temperatures dip, with December being the wettest month of the year. Expect daytime temperatures in the low 50s in the winter, dropping to an average low of 33 degrees in January.

Top things to do in Hot Springs

Hot Springs National Park

The 47 thermal springs dotting the 8.5-square-mile Hot Springs National Park are all protected, but visitors are welcome to literally sip from the source from spigots installed by the park system, allowing all to enjoy the supposed curative effects that originally made the area’s mineral water so famous.

Bathhouse Row

If you’re into architecture, the eight genteel preserved and restored buildings on Bathhouse Row are the closest to a time machine as one could hope. Be sure to drop into the Fordyce Visitor Center, whose exhibits recreate the former glory of the original bathhouse.

The Gangster Museum of America

The healing water of Hot Springs has attracted all sorts over the years, including nefarious characters. The Gangster Museum is dedicated to exhibiting some of the more interesting and salacious moments that unfolded in Hot Springs from the 1920s to the 1940s.
