“This home is in Goldendale right across the river from The Dalles. Of all the houses we have stayed in, probably 50 or so... This is my favorite house of all!!! It is an amazing house, with an equally amazing story. It was built by the horse selling king of the west. He and his wife lived here a few years, his story then moved on and then there are many stories of the house from there. There were times of elegance and times of vacant destruction...then one day it was purchased by someone who was determined to restore it to its prior beauty ... a true labor of love. He restored it and got it placed on the National Historic Register and now ...well cared for ... for a moment.. it takes you back to a very different time...As I sit in the sitting room with the chandeliers, I can see the women in their beautiful gowns and railroad tycoons..for just a second ...they are all here. But on the other hand it is in no way stuffy! The kitchen feels like a well equipped country kitchen. The main bedroom has a comfy queen bed and the upstairs beds are comfy as well. There are so many rooms, real bed room you could fit a large family in it very easy. The yard is beautiful, but has a large yard and cookout area. We have stayed many, Many places.; Washington, Canada, Florida, Florida panhandle, North Carolina, Virginia, North and South Dakota, Arizona, the list goes on and on. This is my favorite house of all.”

“We had a great stay at Anson's place. The location is a perfect jumping off point to explore the Gorge, and we enjoyed the Klickitat Rails Trail along the Klickitat River. The game room and all the kid-friendly touches at the house were a wonderful surprise! Our toddler enjoyed her stay, and we felt good knowing she was safe and welcome in the home. Cute decorations and very clean. Definitely recommend!”

“Scott’s place was a perfect little hideaway after a long day of hiking and exploring the surrounding National Forest and Monument. The chilled bottle of white wine was just what we needed after our arrival. Nearby Goldendale was up near 100 degrees when we drove through town but the temps dropped way down by the time we reached the property and a nice breeze keep the treehouse itself pleasantly cool throughout our stay. We used the BBQ to cook up some hamburgers for dinner and found all the kitchen items we needed to make our meal and set up the picnic table located down below. The beds were also nice and comfy. Great place to spend a night or two while out exploring all the sights that Washington and Oregon have to offer.”
