My friends and I had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. We brought our two dogs up and it was perfectly accommodating to our fur pups. The cottage was spacious, fully stocked with everything you need. And was very comfortable! The lake was stunning, clean and clear. Very beautiful lake! They had lots of amenities to enjoy like water sports, or land games. Oh and the STARS, if you’re into stars this is the place to catch them. Absolutely breath taking at night! Jolene was quick reply if I needed anything and the directions they gave were perfectly clear! Couldn’t recommend this cottage more for families or friends get togethers. Truly was very wonderful!

My family had the pleasure of staying here for the first week in June 2025. We had a fabulous week enjoying this fabulous cottage and its surroundings. The inside offered us all the comfort and things we needed, including an awesome hot tub "tub" complete with rolled towels, clothes pegs and plastic glasses! Everything was exceptionally clean and there were lots of great books and games to keep us entertained as we lazed around the beautiful property. The kayaks and paddle boards were so much fun as we explored both directions on the river. Honestly the property was SO nice we hardly wanted to leave it but we did manage to get out a few days to visit Ottawa and the cute towns of Perth & Almonte. Two fabulous restaurants we visited and recommend is Joe's Italian Kitchen (In Almonte) and Michael's Table in Perth. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog Russ who had the BEST time all week enjoying the water, boats and watching the wild life from his little fur rug in sunny bay window.

Amazing! We actually we upgraded from The Birch to The Juniper at last minute. Here is why: there is a beautiful family of foxes including babies near the Birch cabin. We all were in agreeance to keep wild animals wild & also try to reduce stress on the mom. We happily agreed with Chuck on this perspective and we're pleasantly surprised to be offered an upgrade. The property is beautiful. We could see both front & back bays from our cabin. We borrowed a canoe and took off for the afternoon. We walked up the hydro line path. We sat on the porch and dock and just listened to nature. The cabin had everything. Plenty of HOT water with great pressure for showers. Windows that open with screens for air flow. We didn't sleep in the loft but did discuss how lovely a July eve would be with the top windows open letting the wind rip across loft. Everything you need in the kitchen to make a decent meal. HUGE dining table for meals or games. I can't say enough positives as keep running out of sp

We loved it! The cottage is located in a private area on the lake, well-decorated, and has 4 levels making it very spacious. The hottub and sauna were awesome - perfect for our winter stay. We liked the couch in the downstairs living room as it was big and comfortable, and we appreciated the Roku for easy streaming. We had no issues driving to the cottage even after heavy snowfall - the private road and driveway were cleared. Walkways, stairs and decks were also cleared. Plenty of room outside for walks with a dog and other activities. We would highly recommend Siobhan’s cottage!

I was happy that the cabin looked exactly like the photos! You really can’t beat looking out of the window to a lake. We enjoyed dinners in the deck with the fire pit going and sitting at the lake with our morning coffees. No complaints, it’s a great location and a great deal for the price!

Lauren was a very helpful and accommodating host. We had no issues at all with anything during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay. The property is very nice and quiet. A lot of private space to hike around. Would definitely recommend.

A bit of a drive but well worth the peace and quiet of this beautiful cabin in the woods! My friends and I spent our weekend kayaking, puzzling, and BBQing. Mike was so responsive and everything was very smooth. Would definitely come back!

From the second we arrived Monica made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were showed to our private cabin overlooking the lake, given a quick tour of the amenities and settled in for an incredible stay. The site and the views are just like the pictures, but better in person. Kitchen was stocked with necessities and a few small appliances, propane full for the BBQ and outdoor shower water heater. A hammock, deck and private dock all within feet of the cabin as well. I really want to stress how great of a host Monica was. Thank you for helping make such a memorable trip for us. 10/10 recommend. can't wait to come back!

We stayed at the Phoenix house, took a long meander through the woods, borrowed the canoe for a paddle, decompressed in the sauna then relaxed on the sun-bed heated gently by the wood stove. All in all Rena and Co made us feel right at home and welcome to explore.

Great place to stay, the cabin is cozy and clean, we can still smell the pine wood that is the building material of the cabin. We came on the thanksgiving long weekend, this year it was very cold, fortunately we brought our winter jackets and sleeping bags. The host is very nice, you can ask for more comforts if you don’t have your own, otherwise it is too cold to sleep. We didn’t bring drinking water, but a general store is 3 minutes driving away. The fall scene was spectacular, the lake is peaceful, the host and her son were friendly and responsive. We may come again in summer when it is warmer.

We enjoyed the cabin over a family weekend. It was cosy and thoughtfully designed. We liked walking the trails on the property and watching the bird feeder. Christine went out of her way to help us make the most of our visit, even during a very rainy first day.

This place was beautiful and felt like home! There’s is not a lot of cell phone service only on wifi. The house had everything you needed, just when you thought you brought everything they already had it! Spices, pans, pots, tin foil etc. It is a very quiet area. There was a dock a few minutes away we launched our boat to go fishing as well! Will be back for sure!

I wish I could give 1000 stars. His little slice of heaven on the lake in the woods was amazing. He was an amazing host. We will definitely be back and we are going to bring out daughter next time.

What a wonderful escape! The water nearly surrounded the cottage and every direction you have a gorgeous view. Our days were spent on the lake in the kayak exploring the area. The water was so clear that you could see all the fish. Our dogs loved the area and the swimming. The area was private, and had everything we needed. We hope to return next summer!

We had an awesome stay at Dawn's cabin! The place is really quiet and private. Even if the place doesn't have electricity and water everything you need is there such as water bottles, snacks, kitchen supplies, BBQ with gaz, wood, pans, candles and chargeable lights, blankets etc. Also we were there to celebrate my birthday and Dawn was really thoughtful by placing some cupcakes for our arrival. Self check-in was also really smooth and well indicated. I totally recommend you to book there. It was such a good weekend to reload our batteries away from the city. Thank you!

I can’t say enough about Virginia and her amazing retreat. We were looking for a simple halfway stop on our way home from seeing family in the US and found this amazing space run by wonderful people. It was a treasure and we will be back. This beautiful family is forging a new way of living and travel that is sustainable and gives me hope. She is a great host if you have children and are interested in forest school and learning about local history and geography. My son was free to run and hear nothing but nature sounds and then we took the ferry everyday into Kingston to explore Canadian history and culture and eat amazing food. We went to the Wolfe Island hotel to eat local wonderful food and visited the stunning isolated beach every night at sunset. Wolfe Island is a place like no other. I had such a great connection with the host and her commitment to the earth and the future. Thank you Virginia!

My kids, my mom and I loved the place. Beautiful and cozy cabin, surrounded of amazing landscapes. It is very peaceful and quiet place to have a real rest-time. We stayed for few time (unfortunately) as we were doing some activities in nearest towns, but, ths place is incredible to be in contact with nature, to do hicking, fishing, and swiming in the lake and many activit. You can buy delicious apple cider (we bought also for to go), eggs, and many farm products (vinager, etc) for a very good price. If you read all the information provided by the land lord and follow the rules, this place will exceed expectations. We will come back for sure soon for more nights!. We had such a wonderful time at this cottage. It's cozy and very comfortable. Beds are great. The kitchen is super well equipped. The deck is a peaceful place where you can enjoy nature. The restaurant in town is very good. Anne-Marie was very nice and lovely. We will be back for sure!

Steph's place is a perfect lake getaway that leaves you wanting for nothing. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable, replete with an updated kitchen (and top notch BBQ), netted windows to let the breeze in, and beds that you won't want to leave... that is until you see the water. The dock is private and plentiful -- the place you will want to park yourself for plenty of sun and swimming. And if somehow you tire of that tranquility, there are many other seating areas distributed throughout to enjoy the peace and quiet. The photos truly don't do it justice... so if you haven't hit book by now, just do it (unless you're eyeing the next time I want to return!). Big thanks to Steph for hosting, the great communication, and leaving no detail left out.

My husband and I had the most amazing week at the cabin! We were blessed with 7 days of sun and no rain. Of course, this meant no running water, but we didn’t mind since we just used lake water! Our husky, Willow, explored all 65 acres and then some on our morning “backyard” hikes. We spent our days lounging on the dock and jumping in the lake to cool off, or swinging into the lake on the Tarzan swing! As stunning as the views from the lake were, views from the cabin were spectacular. I think my favourite spot was the screened in porch with panoramic views of the forest! This is where we decided to sleep every night, too! The cabin definitely exceeded our expectations and we will be back!

Very nice rustic cottage updated with modern conveniences. We had a relaxing and peaceful week, and my dog loved the lake. I especially liked the mounted moose and bear heads. ;-) Taina and Frank were fantastic hosts -- very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home. The property was breathtaking—peaceful, well-kept, and surrounded by nature. The house had everything we could possibly need, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. We especially loved unwinding in the sauna and spending quiet moments on the dock watching the loons. It was the perfect getaway. Highly recommend!
