“This was hands down the highlight of our trip. The Balch Hotel, its beautiful garden, pond, & outside patio was a great place to relax under the blue skies and sunshine of Dufur. Crystal clear views of Mt. Hood, coupled with Adirondack chairs and hammocks are all the things vacations are made of. Not only was the historic hotel and period decor a welcome change to typical lodging, but the amenities can’t be beat. From the fresh, homemade cookies that greeted us upon arrival, to the friendly hospitality that prompted us to make dinner reservations, to the extremely talented chef(s)... within the first hour I was already regretting that we weren’t staying longer. The local treats featured throughout the hotel (teas, wines, food, soaps) were a nod to all the things the area has to offer. And the hotel’s charm invites guests to unplug, relax, play a game in the parlour, laugh with friends over drinks, curl up with a good book, or just sit back and enjoy the beauty. This place is a must stay for Oregonians and tourists alike. We will most definitely be back on our next trip to Oregon!”

“My stay at Bonne and Roger’s place reminded me of what Airbnb can be at its best: a comfortable and homey yet private space, friendly hosts, and so many thoughtful touches — from the brochures on local sights to the kitchen amenities to the home-baked cookies. Highly recommended.”

Being a guest on Robyn's idyllic little farm was just the reprieve from the city our family was hoping for. Bring a good book, a camera for the stunning sunsets, and prepare to feel relaxed.”
