Monthly Rentals in Dowth

This is a magical place in every detail. The location is unbelievable. Set your alarm for dawn for a spectacular view over Newgrange. The whole place is better than I imagined, don’t miss the peacocks or the river! Live out your cottage countryside fantasy or finish your novel (I did). The Airbnb is the old school type that’s hard to find nowadays. Everything is chill and the hosts are friendly and helpful. It’s not a hotel or b&b and there is no staff just people opening up their home. You cook your own food in the amazing kitchen, pick up your supplies in Slane before arriving at the local butcher and veg shop. I’ll definitely come back.

Eoghan was a great host very proactive and caring, nothing was too much trouble for him. The cabin was spotless, in a tranquil, country area. Had all amenities as listed. Lovely outdoor seating area outside with Barbecue and lit up at night with lovely fairy lights. Very close to Drogheda and Slane, not far from the beach. If you are an animal lover Eoghan has 2 very friendly dogs who give you a lovely quiet welcome upon arrival. Great place to stay I would highly recommend it.

The house is spotless and free of clutter, great bar and food right beside the house. Very easy check in and a very helpful host, will definitely be back. Fergus was very kind to organise lifts for us which was great.

The surroundings are nothing short of perfect! The cottage itself was homey, but honestly the best part of this home is the towpath out back, the little walk up the hill behind, and the Boyne in the distance. The cottage is special, but does have that musty smell of an old cottage (we didn’t mind) and not many additional amenities (we tried to cook in one night and it just wasn’t conducive- no matter, we went down the street to Daly’s and had a pint). A very special place for sure.
