Cheers On Chinkapin cozy retreat 2 miles to town

AmyRating, 5 stars5 days ago
My husband, daughter and two dogs stayed here for the weekend while attending a wedding, it was the perfect getaway and looked even better in person. The place was spotless, charming and had everything we needed. The location was great too, only a few minutes to downtown and one of the wineries. Our dogs were in heaven! They loved the big fenced in yard, huge plus for those traveling with fur babies! Katherine is an excellent host and she made our stay even better, I highly recommend her place!

Feels like a Treehouse Near Square Wine & Weddings

SuzanneRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My husband & I really enjoyed staying at the Treehouse cabin aka The Blue Door. This place sets the gold standard for an Airbnb. This is why you stay at an Airbnb vs an ordinary hotel room. It's obvious a lot of thought was given into planning out this place with all the thoughtful touches & amenities (plenty of towels, coffee, facial tissues etc.). I've never seen such a fully stocked kitchen in an Airbnb. The upstairs living room & kitchen room is so modern, clean & welcoming. Nicely decorated with local artwork. Loved all the windows that make you feel open to the outside, up in the trees, without you feeling you're giving up privacy. We especially enjoyed the outside porch/balcony off the living room area, watching & listening to the birds in the afternoon. The drive to town is an easy 10 minute drive. Although you do hear some road noise early in the morning, I imagine from people going to work, do not let that deter you from booking this lovely place.

H + H Toccoa River Cabin

TaggertRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I wish I could keep this place a secret because of how incredibly beautiful and secluded it is. You feel like you’ve stepped into a fairy tale, and Hal’s unique touches make the place inviting and special all at the same time. Our trip was filled with rainy weather, but there’s something magical about sitting by the tabletop fire pit on the screened in porch while watching the rain and the river flow by. This is the first airbnb I’ve ever stayed where I knew I wanted to come back.

The Roost Suches Next Toccoa River/Hot Tub

DanaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our stay was amazing. Perfect place to kick back and relax and recharge as a couple or group of friends. My favorite place was the porch, listening to the river roll by, it erases the chaos of the world. Joni, the host, is very sweet and quick to respond to any questions. She has an easy to read and understand guide on the cabin. I definitely recommend this cabin and would stay again. The Churchwells

Bluebird Cabin-2 king beds, enjoy hiking, wineries

LisaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I can’t say enough nice things about how clean and beautiful of a cabin this is and how helpful and friendly a hostTracy is. There is so much to do at the cabin I almost hated leaving it each day to do touristy things in the area. It would be nice to stay for a longer period of time just to hang out and relax. Porch swings, rockers, a hammock, a lovely sunroom if it rains, puzzles, books, and more games than you could play in a month, 4 large flat screen TVs with ROKU and apps, great wifi…Everything is neatly organized and the place is beautiful like an interior designer’s work, but cosy at the same time. The outdoor landscaping is also gorgeous. We cooked almost all our meals there and had everything we needed…and the coffee station (kissing fingertip noise.) We went on some amazing hikes with our dogs in the area, explored the shops of Dahlonega, and had fun wine tasting at lovely vineyard nearby. Would definitely stay again!

Cozy Cabin w/Screened Porch in Dahlonega

SarahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was so wonderful to walk in to after a long travel day! The screened in 3 season room was a perfect place to sit and listen to nature while drinking coffee/wine. Kelly was always available for questions. She had a book with every bit of information you would need for the house and surrounding area. Everything was spotless in the house. Comfortable furniture and bed! They had some toiletries in case you forgot some items. A few coffee pods and sugars/honey and creamers. Things are labeled and the kitchen was very well stocked. Such a lovely place! There’s a Publix right as you enter the area to stock up on groceries. Would love to come back here again. We loved staying in this area as we visited some wineries and took some beautiful hikes. The Anna Ruby’s Falls north of Helen were beautiful and it’s a national park. Bring your national park pass if you have one. Amicalola Falls was amazing to hike up to. The little square of Dahlonega was very quaint.

Charming 1935 Cottage: "The Little House"

CarinRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The cottage is in a very good location--only ten minutes from the central square of Dahlonega and about 50 minutes to Springer Mountain. The house is nicely renovated and Angela provides many amenities. We enjoyed sitting out in the Adirondack chairs and watching the local hawk. Angela was easy to communicate with and flexible with one of our needs. I definitely recommend the cottage.

Morning Star Overlook (Dahlonega, Vineyards, View)

JacobRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I write and teach for a living, so Airbnb is my home away from home. I am not exaggerating when I say this was a top five stay for me. The property is pristine, private, and close to anything you'd want to do in Dahlonega and Helen. It's a dream. As for the area, we ventured out to the closest winery relative to the property and immediately made friends with "Insta**** celebrities" who were trying to capture the best of the area. While we don't care about all of that, it shows you that Frank's place is in the middle of a beautiful, sought after area where people travel many miles to simply get a picture. The cabin felt like home. It had everything we needed for a weekend, but we could've stayed for a month and would've still felt entertained, engaged, and at peace. Book this place now. If you want more information, message me. I'll continue to sing Frank and Johnna's praises forever.

I couldn’t have asked for a better Airbnb experience. The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. The host was incredibly responsive and made everything easy from check-in to checkout. The location was great—close to Helen but still peaceful and relaxing. I especially appreciated the early check in and helpfulness of that. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!

Your guide to Dahlonega

All About Dahlonega

In 1829, Dahlonega, Georgia, wasn’t just any small mountain town — it was the site of America’s first gold rush. The town even got its name from a Cherokee word meaning the color gold. Today, there are many gold festivals and museums to mark this history — you can even try your hand at digging for gold — while wineries, nature trails, and performing arts venues sit just 90 minutes from the state capital of Atlanta. Located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountains, Dahlonega combines towering waterfalls, lush golf courses, and live music.

While the area’s abundant natural beauty is a major draw, 19th-century architecture, tree-lined sidewalks, and the buzz of students from the University of North Georgia make a case for spending some time in town. Wine lovers head into the verdant hills of Lumpkin County to explore the wealth of vineyards, and families flock to the historic town square for the holiday season, when twinkling lights abound.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Dahlonega

The best months to see the town in its prime are from May to June and August to October. Because of Georgia’s southern location, you can expect humid weather at other times. Cabins in Dahlonega are surrounded by scenic drives throughout the year, with Cane Creek Falls, Dockery Lake, and the Yahoola Valley being especially resplendent in the fall. The holidays are big in Dahlonega — its festive cheer and decked-out balconies make it a popular filming location for TV specials and movies — and family-friendly parades, warming drinks, and homemade treats at the market create a heartwarming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. Fans of traditional music won’t want to miss Bear on the Square, a celebration of bluegrass that takes place every April.
