Cabin vacation rentals in Cottonwood Lake

Mark & Nancy were on top of everything before we got to the cabin. From vehicle recommendations to all of the info we needed to get in. The airbnb was stocked with everything we needed along with fun card and board games to keep everyone entertained. One couple on the trip even got engaged at the top of the hill right by the airbnb with the beautiful mountains in the background! 10/10 would recommend.

Due to low competition and a decent price point compared to competition this place does well. I would rate it 3-4 stars based on just the mere location. The rating goes to 4-5 with the view you don’t get in Denver and the hot tub. Negatives- right off the highway so your heart rate goes up entering and leaving. There’s no shampoo just some cheap dollar store soap which I guess you can use for shampoo. Up to you.. bring your own if you want. Not really a tranquille mountain getaway as there’s a cabin infront of your nice Mountain View(not shown in the photos) and the sound of the highway outside. Positives- Hot tub with nice Mountain View’s, which make you forget about the highway noise and hopefully you fill it with good conversation with whoever you’re with. The prairie dogs scurrying around out back are cute. Conclusion- I have to say the hot tub saved it. Keep the hot tub maintained and people will be happy.

Lovely, peaceful place that filled our need for a quick getaway from Denver. We were so happy to be able to bring our dog, and we enjoyed the surrounding area and the hot tub immensely. The cabin is very comfortable and homey with a beautiful, stocked kitchen. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven on earth!

My husband and I booked this home for our 19th Anniversary Trip last minute after deciding we weren’t excited about going to the beach. And boy, did we make a great choice In fact we came home thinking maybe we should move to Colorado:) Everything about this home is perfection. Stunning views in every direction. Hot tub stargazing is the perfect way to end a day exploring the mountains. Comfortable bed and furniture. We were even lucky enough to watch moose taking an afternoon swim in the community fishing pond We truly did not want to leave. If this house is on your list, just go ahead and book it, you won’t regret it.

Had a wonderful time staying here, the cabin is absolutely beautiful and the location was perfect.

We had a beautiful time with family visiting from out of state. The place is pet friendly without an added fee which was spectacular as we have an Australian shepherd who we like to include in all our vacations. The cabin has a fenced area attached to the wraparound upstairs deck for pets to easily use the bathroom off leash that had blooming wildflowers and gave us peace of mind she wouldn’t have to interact with any wildlife unexpectedly for a bathroom break. The cabin is situated in a remote yet accessible location with Mountain View’s and creek access. We enjoyed some fishing, creek side beers and hiked the mountains and dipped in the hot tub afterwards. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a serene, relaxing mountain vacation. Amenities were as described and the basement pool table and ping pong tables were a fun addition. We had a family tournament! I did not win hahaha

Fantastic get away. Located in a beautiful and rural location, but it's only 10 minutes from town, so it has the best of both worlds. The place is surrounded by large picturesque mountain views. The jacuzzi was nice and hot.

Beautiful place to spend the night, had a great time, would love to go back for a night or two in the summer!

This cabin is wonderful!!! It was cozy and clean. Everything you need is provided. I look forward to renting here again if we are in the area.

The cabin was great! It's just far enough off the highway that it feels secluded. It's a comfy space and easy to just relax at. Plus, there's easy access to the highway if you're going out. Buddy was great! He was always super responsive and informative.

My sister and I had a wonderful experience with Doug and felt right at home at his little rustic cabin nestled in an Aspen grove by the creek. The surrounding area is beautiful and Doug was very helpful with local recommendations. Bonus points for helping us load the car after I came down with appendicitis on our last day and had to have an appendectomy, which limited my lifting capabilities. Thanks, Doug! We’ll definitely look at coming back soon! And hopefully I’ll not lose another organ while I’m there! :-)

Our whole group (8 total) really enjoyed our "girls weekend" here. We were all blown away by the view through the huge living room windows when we first came in the back door. The place was also bigger than we expected, which was a great surprise. The house had everything we needed for a big home cooked dinner, good night's sleep, and a movie night. We also loved the deck for happy hour drinks and star viewing at night. I really appreciated how quiet of an area it is. I highly recommend this home for anyone willing to be outside of town/a 20 minute drive to Buena Vista.

We loved our stay in Miner’s Stuga! The pictures don’t do it justice- it’s quaint and beautiful and fully stocked. Bettina left a little handwritten note when we got in with snacks and ground coffee. Make sure to look outside in the middle of the night- we could see the Milky Way out here! Spent our days mountain biking (check out sup and cycle for bike and kayak rentals) and hiking, never even had to drive anywhere. The general store and tenderfoot farm store both have great options for groceries, but make sure to check when they close. Can’t say enough good things. Loved it!

Beautiful cabin with even more beautiful views. Lots of room. I visited with my fiancé, our two daughters, and my mom. We had an amazing few days in the mountains. David was super informative ahead of time and was responsive/easy to reach. The deck and views alone make this place worth it. Definitely recommend!

Pauls cabin is a great retreat away from the city. The stars were bright and the seclusion was beautiful both night and day!

The cabin was lovely and exactly as described. We felt right at home for our getaway into the mountains and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the game room and took advantage of the pool table and jacuzzi many times! Great for families and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a trip to the Rockies!

Quaint cabin in a mountain neighborhood. It had everything we needed and Trevor made the check in process incredibly easy. His instructions for finding the cabin were spot-on. And if you’re looking for a stunning spot to hike or picnic, Twin Lakes are super close!

My daughter‘s wedding was held at Deer Valley Ranch. The rental of Owl’s Nest was absolutely a perfect location for the parents of the bride. We were able to walk over to where the main events were very easily and go through the back door of the lodge. Owl’s Nest was a wonderful retreat for us and our daughter, son-in-law and their three very little children. They were plenty of games and things for the kids to do. Matthew even arranged to have a pack and play at the cabin for us when we arrived. The kitchen was very impressive and upscale. The master bath was fit for a queen and very spacious. I wish we could’ve stayed longer.

We had a nice time. Host was responsive and gave clear instructions. It was a comfortable stay in a beautiful location.

Great spot for a little staycation! The home is super private and really beautiful. The beds were super comfy, great WiFi for streaming Netflix and working remotely. FairPlay is a quick 10 mins away. The deck was nice to grill out and the stars at night were amazing!

As I think I heard someone else say, “think camping, but with four walls instead of a tent.” This was my second time visiting. Tons of privacy. Very isolated and wild. Nestled at almost 12,000 feet. Cookware, a heater, and an outdoor stove was available when I went. The beds kept me comfortable. Be sure to bring your own supplies though. Water, lanterns, food for the whole stay. If you have a four wheel drive take Cumberland pass to Tincup, and visit mirror lake while you’re there. Wonderful. I can picture myself coming a third time.

Wonderful place, beautiful scenery, got to see deer walking in the backyard, that wasn’t expected but wonderful to see. Will definitely stay there again when we visit Buena Vista. Well worth what paid to stay.

Great place to stay for all that Buena Vista has to offer ! There are other houses around but you feel really secluded and it’s so quiet and peaceful. Kitchen was great for cooking. Sleeping was great. Not the greatest shower but totally doable. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and close to everything.
