After a hectic weekend, a couple of days at Aidan's place was peaceful and relaxing. A truly rural retreat, this is very much the cabin in the woods that the photos show. Aidan met us and showed us the ropes, and got the woodfired hot-tub on the deck going for us (which was amazing!). Surrounded by trees, and with the sound of the river below, this is the ultimate in peaceful relaxation. If booking, make sure you come prepared by bringing towels and fuss-free food. There's no fridge and kitchen per se, but there's an icebox and ice can be provided. Cooking is possible on the wood burner inside, and there's a kettle and toaster. A wonderful experience and we'd love to come back and explore the surroundings more!

This was the most sensational location. The property itself is stunning and the surroundings so picturesque. We wanted to just switch off and get away from it all for a couple of days and thats exactly what we were able to do. Tony and Barbara are lovely and so very helpful, we loved learning about the history of the buildings and the Mill Pond. We will be recommending this property to friends and family. We stayed for 5 nights in Simon's flat which was perfect! Helmsley is very pretty place with lots to do round and about so the location of the flat is ideal. It was easy to park and the flat very clean. The sitting room is a really good size, very comfortable and homely. Some rented properties (mainly managed by agents) are rather sterile and this was completely the opposite, somewhere you could settle into straight away and which had lots of character. The kitchen was well equiped and the bedroom very comfortable. We would highly recommend!

We had a lovely two-night stay at this well appointed Airbnb. The space is light, spacious, and very restful – ideal for a peaceful break. Set in a lovely, location, it had a gorgeous view of the garden and a charming little patio area to enjoy it from. It’s slightly off the beaten track but there’s plenty of interesting walks and places to visit in the surrounding area. The hosts were extremely welcoming. There were thoughtful touches throughout, including welcome items of bread, milk, eggs, and fresh flowers that made the place feel inviting. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway in a beautiful setting.

Absolutely love our stay and already can’t wait for our next visit. Location and surroundings were perfect, so peaceful the stream running out the back of the huts added to the tranquil atmosphere. Watching the deer in the field play while in the hot tub was so cool. The shepherds hut itself was so well decorated and a real surprise at how spacious it was considering it’s a shepherds hut. Jane has thought of everything and it really is a home away from home. Jane was also very helpful and gave us suggestions to the local restaurants and lovely walks to them. Hot tub is so easy to use and can easily spend most of your stay just relaxing in there!
