Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Colac Otway Shire

A beautiful house with lovely outlook right in the middle of Forrest village. Exactly as described and the fireplace made the place so warm we were in t-shirts. Would have to have the most comfortable mattress and best shower of anywhere else we have stayed. Loved our weekend in Forrest.

We had a great 2 night stay, it was perfect for 4 couples. We very much enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the views, being joined by a kookaburra and a cockatoo as well. Having 3 bathrooms was a bonus for getting ready for a wedding as we did, and sitting by the fire was a great way to end our days.

Best views by far of any place we've stayed in, glorious views of the sea and the bush all around. We spotted koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and many native birds near the house. The three separate living areas made this a brilliant place for a large family group as it was so quiet for sleeping and playing games separate from others when needed, but there was also a really lovely big shared living space. The local coastline is stunning, with a 5 minute drive to the coast and 10 to a good patrolled swimming beach, and scenic drives to both Lorne and Apollo Bay. Brigitte was super friendly, responsive and easy to deal with. We won't forget this unique stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Forrest and will return. The house is in a perfect location immediately across the road from the Skills Tracks and Trailhead. Comfortable beds and plenty of space both in and outside. Peter was an attentive and accommodating host. Our only negatives, as per another review, the house needed an airing out on our arrival, just smelled dusty. Do note that you really need to bring everything you might need as the General Store's pricing is extortionate and their options are limited. This is easily remedied by a 1 hour roundtrip to Colac, but easier still to arrive prepared.

Beautiful property that was warm and welcoming from the get go, and felt like home every time you walked through the doors. Everything was clean, well thought out and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay plus some. Cannot recommend Lisa and Matt’s place enough and look forward to staying here again.

Richard's place was absolutely beautiful. The views of the forest and ocean are amazing, and the living room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are all excellent spaces to live in. Fantastic place for the Great Ocean Road Race - just a short walk down to the bus stop. The place itself was very spacious, very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend

Apollo Bay is always a great place to visit because there's so much to do in the region. Lisa's place at Marengo was a great spot to come back to at the end of each day and Lisa herself was quick to respond. It was warm, comfortable and suited our needs well. The setting of the property was perfect for us. Far enough from the Great Ocean Rd, but positioned well enough to have uninterrupted views of the surrounds.

Genuinely the most beautiful, cozy stay I have ever stayed in with AirBNB. Being in the middle of the Otways was just stunning. We saw so many wallabies and birds and it felt so peaceful during our stay. We wish we had one more night! Thank you Michelle for opening up your stunning cottage, I will hopefully be back again soon!

Great little cottage in a beautiful bush setting. Plenty of space for two couples, with comfy beds and everything we needed for a relaxed stay. Peaceful location, yet still an easy drive to Lorne. We really enjoyed our time here!

The cabin is situated in a Big 4 park which means that it has access to amazing activities and facilities to entertain kids, and even a small kiosk for my morning coffee and muffin. The cabin really suits a family, it has two living areas, and a great kitchen. There is a filtered view of the ocean and the walk into town along a beachside path is lovely and only about 2 kms. Apollo Bay itself offers many places to eat and there are lots of interesting places to visit. Our host was very responsive when alerted to a couple of issues and all in all we had a great stay.

A perfect place to unwind!! The field guide is very detailed and if you find yourself unsure about something prior/during your stay you probably didn’t read the field guide (like me haha). But the host of very friendly and a quick response settled all my queries. The stated distances to walk up to the cabin are correct and not an exaggeration, so just be aware. Ocean views (just), kangaroos aplenty, and cosy woody stove, what more could you ask for? I definitely hope to return one day :)

Just what you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Clean, quaint, and peaceful. Also feeding the parrots was a huge bonus :)

Joleen and I loved Jan’s place. Honestly it was well worth every penny. We really appreciate the time and effort you have put to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. We will definitely come back, thank you Jan and Pete!

Lynne's little cabin is perfect for Holiday stay. It locates within the big four Holiday park and just two minutes drive from the Apollo Bay town centre. The cabin is nicely decorated and has everything that you would need. Even has a coffee machine with lovely handwritten instructions. My family and I really enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay with kids, lots of activities for them to be kept busy. Great location, close to the beach and short drive to shops. Would recommend this accomodation.
