This home was very comfortable and clean. It was quiet and peaceful. We were here early March and weather was sunny. You can take in the views without the leaf foliage at this time. Pleasant place to stay. Trey was great with instructions and ease of checking in. Also checked in with us during our stay. Thanks

This place was perfect for a leadership retreat. It offered great accommodations in a peaceful setting. This was our second time to stay here and we were not disappointed. FYI…we drove 12 minutes to Chestnut Oaks Farm Table & Restaurant for a great meal one night.

George was an excellent host. He met us at the cottage and very helpful in finding local interests. This place was an excellent location for hiking nearby trails. Be sure to check out the waterfalls as well. It’s also an hour and 15 minutes from Chattanooga. There is a DG Market in Altmont which is a great alternative to Walmart. A very peaceful setting and located on the edge of Savage Gulf State Natural Area. We enjoyed our stay at this place very much.

Alfred’s Place Cabin is fabulous! The view is out-of-this-world. The water pressure is outstanding. The new mattresses are more firm than the old, but still good. The refrigerator, stove, W/D, & dishwasher are all top-quality. The kitchen is well stocked and the linen closet has many backup items. The rustic feel brings us back to memories of our childhood. The peace in this place is amazing. The tiny mosquito-eating bat was entertaining & helpful. A few cave-crickets & a random spider, yet nothing aggressive or dangerous. Deer walked through the yard daily. AC worked fine. Was 90 degrees out, yet w/the window units, cabin stayed comfortable. Livingroom/dining room set-up gives lots of seating for game-playing, relaxing, & conversations. Communication is responsive, kind, & respectful. I have nothing bad to say about Alfred’s Place. It is my favorite place ever, absolutely wonderful. We are already planning our next vacation here.

We really enjoyed this place. We stayed at one of the smaller houses in the past. The extra room, King bed and a comfy sofa were great. Enjoyed breakfast on the screened porch. Great to get away from the city.

We stayed for 4 months during the winter and really enjoyed our time at the cottage. We were looking for a peaceful & quiet getaway in nature and that’s exactly what we got. It was so comfy and relaxing. We loved having our morning coffee in the sunroom over looking the lake. Kitchen is well equipped, wifi was super fast, lots of TV channels. There’s no cell service, but with the fast wifi you didn’t really need it. We were sad to leave! Would definitely come back, and absolutely recommend Melissa’s place for anyone who wants a peaceful escape.

Very secluded, but I felt very safe being on the back side of their property. Dan and his wife both showed me out to the cabin which was situated right in the middle of the most beautiful area of wilderness! I was making a last minute stop, driving with my dog from Houston up to New York and I didn't want my dog to have to deal with a hotel room. This was the perfect solution. Quiet and comfy. It is very dark, so if you plan on arriving after sundown be sure to bring a flashlight! They do have some string lights but I had to use to my phone to navigate the bathroom. Great find!

The home is even better than the pictures . Loved the comfortable queen bed I slept in , the linens were so soft and comfortable. So convenient to the cute little downtown area and the walk there is delightful , looking at all the historic homes

We recently stayed at this amazing cabin in the woods, and I can’t say enough good things about it! The property is absolutely beautiful — it sits on tons of acres, so it feels super private and peaceful. Waking up to the sounds of nature and having so much space to explore was so much fun!!

Head and shoulders above the rest! Much better than the typical Airbnb with five star ratings. This is a true five star rural destination stay, not a stopover getting a courtesy five-star rating. No comparison with the typical highly rated Airbnb - this place is special. The cabins are well made with rustic feel - not old & worn with glossed over touches. Dan & Joann have done wonders with funky & country decor touches inside & out. And the farm is spectacular - mowed shorter grass walking paths, nearby stream, much wildlife. I had a fabulous time with picking & singing tunes each evening with Dan & friends! And I'm no pro, but the whole experience was comfortable, warm & inviting. I have new friends in Dan & Joann - maybe even new family! I'll be back!

Loved the stay it was a great place to go back to and relax the drive to get up is a bit steep but other than that it was great

We loved it. Came in town for a soccer tournament and couldn’t have been more perfect. Back yard is amazing. House is comfy. We cooked for ourselves almost every night and had our own spaces among 5 (two families). Hosts responded within minutes to any inquiries and were amazing in the weeks leading up to our stay by working with us on changing dates, including while there. We are already booking it again for next year if it’s available!

Our family went out for a few days during spring break and it was awesome!! My girls loved all of the animals, the big indoor pool, and fishing!! We plan to come again! Fred was also super responsive and the place was so easy to find!

This was exactly what we were looking for-a clean, comfortable place with a beautiful view and mountain feel on our way to Savannah to visit family. The weather was perfect for one of the days, and the other day it was rainy and foggy, but we spent that day going to Ruby Falls. It cleared up in the afternoon. We spent evenings around the fire pit in which wood was provided and we brought our own outdoor chairs that were more comfortable than the benches provided. We also grilled out using the grill on the property, and there were plenty of silverware, dishes, glasses, pots and pans etc. Everything was just as pictured. All in all, a wonderful getaway. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to Fred, our host.

This was a dream come true for our family! My kids were thrilled with their experience and couldn’t have been happier! My wife and I felt so much at peace and we loved the view. We felt so happy with our choice we booked an extra night and no one wanted to leave! Absolutely amazing!!

We had a great trip to Cabin in the Sky. During our stay we had a small issue with a leaky ice machine, but the team was responsive and extremely helpful and courteous. Be sure to note the potential issues for your family using the stairs, as they’re really ship ladders which can be difficult for small kids or older folks. Even so, our kids loved the ladders as much as anything. We’ll be back!
