The High Mountain Getaway

Erica was an amazing host. We have camped in the area before and saw this cabin for rent. It was perfect. So secluded and off grid but still has all of the necessities. We enjoyed being out and about all day and returning in the evening to cook a hot meal with a fire in the fireplace. Beds were SO COMFORTABLE! We can’t wait to visit again!

The home was in great shape and had everything we were expecting. We looked forward to a weekend away in a private and remote space. Overall we were very satisfied. I would caution anyone that there are cameras around the house exterior and it felt like we were being watched at all times. That became especially clear when someone came by the house to do work outside on Saturday morning, unannounced. They didn't disturb us, but it was just strange to come to the space when we had the home reserved. That just made us a bit uncomfortable. Also note that the door lock code is set for exactly the check in time. We commuted to the house from Denver, which is about a 2 hr drive and ended up showing up 10 min before check in. We had to sit in our car and wait for the code to reset to get in. It's a minor thing, but having like a 15-30 min grace period would be real hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay - home was clean and well appointed, the provided coffee was delicious, and the location was perfect for access to Buena Vista, hot springs, and St Elmo. Beds are nice, firm enough but not too firm, and there are extra blankets if it gets chilly. The views were so beautiful. Great stop along the way on a road trip! If you are light sensitive, consider bringing an eye mask. If you’re adults thinking about sharing the bunk bed, that may not work out - but we belatedly found that they had provided an air mattress! Hosts are super responsive. Would rebook in a heartbeat. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We stayed 4 nights with our three kids and loved it! We loved the access to the pond for fishing/swimming. The seating area down by the creek was so nice to roast marshmallows and just chill. The cabin was comfortable and plenty of room for a family of 5. My only critique was the downstairs Queen bed was really firm and uncomfortable to us. But that is just a personal preference. The place had everything we needed/wanted for a great stay in the mountains.

If you are looking for a beautiful view, look no further! The pictures don’t do it justice. The kitchen had everything you would possibly need. Comfortable furniture and beds are a plus. We had everything we needed for relaxing stay. We were taking this trip to celebrate retirement, and we were very happy with our stay. It’s worth every penny! Kirk was easy to communicate with. We would definitely go back!!
