Vacation rentals with a washer and dryer in Castle Douglas

We had a fantastic stay in Adrians apartment, spacious property and well located to enjoy all that Keswick has to offer. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Keswick.

Rachel and Michael went out of their way to be kind and helpful. The space is beautifully proportioned and laid out with just about everything you could want for a trip away. It is up a long lane from the road, (a well maintained lane) but that is fine and part of the charm. It would be ideal for a romantic weekend away, though as a female on my own I felt safe and reassured that the owners were close by but never intrusive. My young spaniel enjoyed our walks with Rachel and her dogs down the lane. The Workshop Cottage even has it's designated parking spot, and small garden area, and a bench in the sunshine to admire the view. This is a stunning, unique and slightly quirky bit of paradise at a very reasonable price. I would book again in a flash if I needed to visit the Lakes again.

Great little apartment on the main street in Whitehaven. There’s no kitchenette (this was detailed in the excellent and accurate description) but there is a fridge, microwave and crockery so it’s Ideal for a few nights stopover, but a longer stay would mean eating out a lot. The apartment is clean, cosy and nicely appointed with a large comfy bed, separate bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. It’s on the third floor and there are 50 steps up to the flat, so that would be some to bear in mind if you have mobility concerns. Gary was a great host, really proactive, friendly and had great comms He reacted to a slight issue with the shower within an hour of it being reported so top marks as a host. Although there is no parking directly associated with the apartment, there are plenty of car parks within 2-3 mins walk, and they are reasonably priced, and safe to leave your car over night. All in all, a lovely place to stay.

We stayed at Piers's place as an overnight stop on going further North. Despite seeing the pictures on the listing we were amazed at the beauty and sheer size of the apartment; the high decorated ceilings, original wooden panelling, gorgeous oriental rugs & tapestries, pictures and artefacts from many different countries, plus a modern and extremely well equipped kitchen. I have never had a choice of 4 different ways to make coffee before! I chose the delongi which was perfect. A truly wonderful experience.. highly recommended!

Church Street was a lovely place to stay, good layout, comfy furniture, plenty of room and all very clean. Location was good for us, 10 mins walk into the centre of Keswick or the lake. A great base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

It was a lovely flat in a quiet location. Lots of walks direct from the door. Close to the centre and shops. Instructions for parking and access first class with photos.

A great stay in a very comfortable cottage. We especially appreciated the large dining kitchen, the pretty back yard, the comfy living room with plenty of seating, good WiFi, and walkable location. Loads to do. Highly recommend the Scran Van on the harbour for delicious fish and chips

Really good location for a family holiday. We had 6 adults and although 2 were in the ‘children’s’ bedroom they were comfortable and there was lots of space for us all. Outside spaces (places to sit or eat) in particular were lovely and the hot tub of course was fabulous. Really great easy location for Ambleside itself and getting quickly walking!

Margaret’s place was wonderful! We all really enjoyed it; even better than the photos. The surrounding area was very quiet and scenic and the hot tub was a real treat. Thank you!

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

House was exactly as described and pristine. The kids loved their own space in the “loft”. Would be slightly weary of stairs with younger kids (especially if they walk at night). Kitchen had everything you need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. The house was super cozy and the beds very comfortable. Fantastic location - very remote if that’s what you’re looking for. Perfect location for climbing Scafell although we didn’t attempt due to the weather. Fair drive on tricky fell roads if you’re looking to spend lots of time in Windermere / Ambleside / Keswick. But perfectly doable. Great pub down the road with play area and football for the kids. Would love to return / have stayed longer to walk around the area close to the house.

Lovely little bolthole, incredible location in the heart of the village. You’re a minute walk away from most of the restaurants, pubs and sights. Getting checked in was super easy and the place was spotless, thank you Nia!

The property was a home from home. It was absolutely beautiful with an amazing garden and view. The property had everything we needed. The hosts communication was clear and proactive leaving no uncertainty about what to expect. The surrounding area is beautiful and the property itself very peaceful. Would definately stay again.

The place was so nice and perfect for our needs. As a family, the facilities were a great addition, such as pool, pub onsite, games etc! The apartment was perfect for kids as it had games and other things such as highchair and cot. The view was lovely and terrace huge!

An immaculate 2 bedroom flat, perfect for my family of 4. The bathroom was recently renovated and Graeme sent photos of this before our stay. Lots of handy amenities provided such as toilet roll, tea, coffee, ironing board, hair dryer, hand wash etc which saved us a trip to the shop on our first day. There were even some games / activities which kept the kids entertained too. We’ve had a fantastic weekend and already booked to return next year!
