Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Cape Girardeau

The pool alone is worth booking this stay! Absolutely beautiful pool and hot tub, overall very private (just share with homeowners which was no problem), clean, peaceful - feels like a tropical destination in IL!! However, the path (basically a hill) to the pool from the camper is hard to navigate. The camper is more of a camping experience and was difficult for my very tall husband. Bed was too small for him. The kids and I (short wife) had a blast though. Just bring bug spray - there are tics!

Loved staying at this location. So close to restaurants and shops and outdoor adventures. Very quiet. Amazing views of stars. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Very responsive and helpful host!

This quaint and cozy place was a perfect stay for our road trip. The patio was a great spot to enjoy dinner! The weather wasn’t the best but we made the best of it and did enjoy the pool for a bit.

We loved staying in Kevin's RV. The kids thought the bunk room was really cool. There were 2 adults, 3 kids and 1 infant and we had plenty of room. Everything was as listed and had everything we needed.

We chose to take this trip for our daughters birthday weekend a perfect setting to get away and have the option to camp, fish, swim and able to relax around a peaceful fire while eating smores. The camper had everything we needed very nice and spacious. The beds were very comfy. The area was nice and quiet. We caught fish from the dock. The family was welcoming to the pool area. And cant forget the friendly Pugley. He was for sure a bonus he loves to play fetch.

Our stay was amazing. Our host were super accommodating of some special requests we had. The pool house was just we needed to make our two night stay the most memorable for our family.

It was very clean when we arrived and we really enjoyed our stay! The dogs loved it and it was very peaceful! we will be back!

Dave’s place was perfect for our family. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room. It’s an older home, but has been kept up very well, and is very charming. The neighborhood is beautiful and we loved taking walks every day with our kids. Dave was very communicative and responded immediately if we ever had a question. Thank you Dave, we hope to be back soon!

Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. I recommend to any couple who likes to hike and have a private place stay.

We really enjoyed our stay! The area was beautiful with a variety of hiking and we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub in the evenings. This was hands down the cleanest Airbnb I have ever stayed in! Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area.

Amazing get away to spend time with our grown kids and their families. Lots to do with the game room, fire pit, kayaks, fishing, etc… this location is pet friendly and had a very large fenced in porch with the dogs loved. We took walks on the winding country roads and met minimal cars. But those that did drive by met us with a wave and a smile. One car stopped to admire our pets and welcome us to the area and said how thankful they were to have guests in the area. We will definitely make this an annual stay.

Our time at Allison’s place was wonderful! It was the perfect bachelorette trip location, a comfortable home, and the perfect set up for us. We’d love to be back!

What a great experience. Charming home away from home, opportune for making it our own, accommodated our family, while we each had our individual space. It’s clear that this family ranch was well preserved and host many positive memories. A coveted sprawling ranch cabin in the woods. ❤️

Beautiful cabin with all the comforts of home. Owner was responsive, friendly and helpful. The town and surrounding area are gorgeous if you want to explore, and there are great restaurants everywhere. Would 100% stay here again.

Fantastic week staying in this cabin in the Shawnee National Forest. Great location for quickly getting to various highlights in the region. The log cabin is outfitted very well with Native American decor and has a great kitchen and outdoor grill with a Kroger less than 10 minutes away. The hot tub and fire pit were great for unwinding at night. We look forward to returning for more hikes and vineyards in the area in the fall and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed this little gemstone by happenstance and can not say enough great things about it! Approaching this sweet little cabin in the woods down a little gravel path with string lights to light the way feels like you’ve stepped into a fairytale story! Cozy and secluded, complete with a hot tub, grill, and fire pit. Just what the doctor ordered for a relaxing reset. Bonus: Lirkey trailhead is just a hop, skip, and jump down the road for some peaceful hiking. We have been to S. IL many times and Wistful Cabin is the best place we have stayed so far! Jess is very responsive and the whole process was very turnkey…did I mention the fresh honey? 5 STARS

We were in town for a girls get away with some hiking and Twisted Sister was perfect! Such a beautiful setting and so close to the places we wanted to go. It was super easy to get in, very clean, and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves as we prefer to do. We also enjoyed strawberries from Flamm Orchard, and great hikes at nearby Little Grand Canyon and Cove Hollow, plus of course Giant City State Park. Candace was an excellent hostess. She lives next door but gave us complete privacy. And when I had questions or wanted recommendations she was super responsive. It made us feel safe and cared for. It is so nice that she shares her beautiful property with guests in this way. We will be back!

Great place, recommend and would stay again

We had a group of 15 and this home was absolutely perfect for our stay! There’s a ton of gathering space, especially in the living room where the large couch and footrest easily accommodated everyone. The multiple dining areas upstairs also made mealtimes easy and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked — we cooked every meal for all 15 of us without any issues. Having the extra fridge downstairs was a huge plus for storing all our food and drinks. The outdoor area is truly picturesque. We loved lounging on the deck, soaking in the peaceful surroundings, and listening to the local wildlife. All of the bedrooms were spacious, and it was a huge bonus that everyone upstairs had their own bathroom. The home had everything we needed and more — highly recommend for large groups!

Our group had a wonderful time! Great location with approximately 15-30 minutes to most nearby attractions including Little Grand Canyon Trail and Alto Pass Vineyard. The house appeared well kept and accommodated our group perfectly. The back deck was peaceful. Ashley responded promptly to all of my messages and was very nice and professional. We hope to return in the future!

I went to SIUC many many years ago and never visited Giant City. We came down to visit the campus and Giant City and Theresa’s place allowed us to bring our pet and was a great location. It was clean and nicely decorated at a good price.

Great house, great location. Quiet neighborhood. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for my son to play. He loved playing in the basement.

We enjoyed staying in Mary Ann's home that once belong to her grandparents. Everything was right where we needed it to be. We were on a bicycle tour in Carterville and took advantage of having a nap on the screened in front porch wicker furniture. We were able to cook most of our meals and do laundry before we left for the next location. We would stay there again if we are in the area. Thanks.

Kevin’s place was PERFECT!! Super cozy & CLEAN! Our family loved the peaceful, secluded location. Kevin quickly responded any time I had a question and gave us several good recommendations. Our pups felt right at home too. We look forward to staying here again!
