⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Perfect Tuscan Escape Just Outside Lucca's Walls! Our stay at this duplex was wonderful, earning every single one of its five stars! From the moment we booked, communication with the host was prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful, making our arrival completely stress-free. The location is truly unbeatable. Being just a 9-minute drive outside the historic walls of Lucca offered the perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility. We enjoyed peaceful evenings in a gorgeous back yard, yet could easily pop into Lucca within minutes to explore its stunning architecture, vibrant piazzas, and fantastic restaurants. The short drive meant we avoided the bustle of staying right in the center, and parking was a breeze with a free parking lot just a short walk from the walls. The duplex itself is a gem. It’s beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and felt immediately like a home away from home. Would 100% rebook at this location! 🩷

We had a truly wonderful stay – for all five of us! The house and the outdoor area were absolutely beautiful, even better than in the pictures. Everything was spotless, charming, well maintained, and well equipped. The garden was stunning, and the whole place felt peaceful and private. Ilaria and Francesco were the kindest hosts – helpful, responsive, and incredibly welcoming. We’re already thinking about coming back for a summer holiday (the pool and AC are perfect!). Great location for day trips to Pisa and Florence, and there are lovely restaurants nearby. It was an amazing birthday trip and really good value. Our family needed a house to be near family as well as the city of Lucca, but we wanted the peace & quiet of the hills. This house was perfect for us, even with all the stairs! In fact the stairs were great conditioning for all the walking we did. There were 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which is great for a family of 4 (Mom, Dad, and 2 kids over the age of 8). Everything was as pictured: towels and linens were clean, kitchen spotless, and yard was beautiful. We did not have time to use the hot tub, although it looked very inviting. We did enjoy the amazing views from all the bedrooms as well as time spent sitting outside on the terrace. Igor was a great host and the Welcome gift was enjoyed. Although we were somewhat familiar with Lucca, Igor was able to provide us with more local information that was extremely helpful (grocery stores, parking, restaurants, and sites to visit). He greeted us when we arrived and was there to say Goodbye. Definitely recommend this place!

Wonderful place to either lay back and enjoy the picturesque-postcard view from the comfort of your front yard or the pool (which was refreshingly cool in June), or to go further explore Tuscany locations within reach. The house was beautiful, clean and equipped with everything you could ask for, ie a quiet and air conditioned bedroom, kitchen with a gas stove, fridge and a wood fired bbq and a jacuzzi + comfy seating outside. Shops, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance, max 10 minutes. Andrea is a fantastic host who clearly cares about providing the best possible stay for her guests, which she did. Whenever we return to Tuscany, we will definitely make sure to stay here at Palaia again.

Maurizio and Giulia welcomed us warmly into their beautiful home. Everything exactly as in the photos, cozy and clean environments, the perfect place for those looking for relaxation and tranquility. Highly recommended!

Guido's house was absolutely spotless. Clean, cosy, lovely garden, great jacuzzi. The view from to bedroom was fantastic. We loved the company of cat Gianluigi. The house offers everything one needs when on vacation, even more. I absolutely recommend Guido and Francesca's lovely casa. Well done.

Awesome place to stay if you are looking for privacy and nature going hand in hand in the beautiful chalet surrounded by peaceful calmness and a relaxing atmosphere. Maria who is a very friendly Host was always helpful and responded very quickly if we had questions and we are thankful for whole service (with the car :) We recommend the chalet a 10/10 and would revisit it anytime again !

We were an extended family of eight. The accommodation can only be described as perfect for us. The views were amazing and it was just so peaceful. We enjoyed the pool and the short trips to many restaurants and surrounding villages. That said, we spent most mornings and evenings soaking up the views across the valley to Volterra and beautiful villages dotted on the hillside. Andrea takes huge pride in being accessible and instantaneously responsive. A pleasure to deal with. A small bar / cafe across the road took care of morning coffee’s and any gelato pangs. Thank you Andrea, you made our stay so very memorable. Our only disappointment was leaving!!

Marco and his family are impeccable hosts who made us feel at home. Available and always responsive. House in a great location and convenient both for going to the sea and for spending a quiet day by the pool. I'd go back!

The place was very well equipped (kitchen, bathroom, towels, detergent - everything) clean and perfect to get down from the location. Communication was excellent and check-in was very friendly. We also received friendly and quick answers to our questions. The WiFi reception was good but less suitable for 4 or more people who want to work at the same time. We would come back. Thank you for the hospitality 🙏

A beautiful villa with exceptional views to the hills and valley. Various oudoor areas. Private location however close to sights and amenities. Cafes and restaurants not far however not walking distance, best accessed by own car. Electric bikes were available for sightseeing. Fantastic host, always responsive and helpful. Can warmly recommend.

We visited for a multi-generational family holiday - grandparents, kids and parents. The setting is wonderful, in the mountains of Fosciandora - an easy 1.20 hr drive from Pisa airport. We enjoyed having the option of the jacuzzi as well as the fresh water pool. And had local chefs cook for us several evenings. The local Tigalle meal was a special highlight on our first day - compliments to Chef Nenella. It’s a stunning place and we’d love to come back. Local trips we did were to Lucca (about an hour), Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and Barga. Pizza Indie was a great recommendation from Leo. Our hosts were so responsive and wonderful to speak to. They couldn’t have been more attentive. I can def imagine we’ll be back in years to come. Highly recommend the his wonderful place to anyone who truly wants to get away and switch off. The mountain air and beauty is good for the soul.

My wife and I stayed at Enrico’s villino for four nights in May and really enjoyed it. We travelled without a car so walked from the train station - it takes about 30 minutes but is easy to find. Enrico met us and showed us round. The house is small but had everything we could have needed. The garden is great with lots of areas to sit in to relax. The jacuzzi was great to use each night. Enrico is a great host who checked in regularly with us to ask if we needed anything. We were very comfortable at the villino and would recommend it to anyone visiting Lucca.

Daniele (host) made us feel home - Really open and helpful. The house was clean and well equipped, and lived up to our expectations.

Sabrina and Teresa greeted us at the gate of the villa when we arrived. Showed us around and were very responsive to us with any request during our stay. We had a relaxing and wonderful time. Many laughs, great meals, wine and a wonderful Villa with everything we needed and spectacular views. Thank you Sabrina and Theresa!!

We were a group of 10 including 3 under 15 and found Enrico’s place very roomy and easily able to accomodate us all. The bathrooms were all very clean and the beds were a more traditional Italian style but still comfy. The outdoor area was lovely and where we spent most of our time (as there was no indoor lounge area). Enrico was a gracious host and very responsive to any questions we had. Location wise, the house is easily walkable to the town centre (which is very quaint and picturesque) and to get on and off the autostrade. Would recommend staying here!

Very comfortable house suitable for a large group like ours with children, well equipped and clean. Ample space in the living area and nice outdoor space. The village, with all the services, is very close, we moved very little and we enjoyed the house that, despite being large, it warms very well. On the first day, with the enthusiasm for the snow, we were locked out of the house with the keys inside.....panic! The host, although not close, activated quickly and in a short time they came to open us up . Great stay

I had the pleasure of staying in Lisa's accommodation and I can only warmly recommend it! Nestled in the woods, this apartment offers an atmosphere of tranquility and peace, perfect for an escape from everyday life. The apartment is not only cozy, but also impeccable in cleanliness and furnishings, with thoughtful details that create a truly pleasant environment. Lisa turned out to be a great host: always available and ready to provide tips on activities to do nearby. If you're looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate, this is undoubtedly the ideal place. Our easter holiday at Corrado's place was WONDERFUL.It's a welcoming and clean typical mountain chalet....Who loves to nature & calmness...Above all our children had great fun with his beautiful garden... Corrado has done his best for us.He is a available & courteous person...As a host he is perfect!!And it was a remarkable vacation!!!!

Our stay was beautiful! We didn't even leave the property, taking advantage of the grill and pool. Corrado was always very helpful and recommended many things to do in the area. The house was super clean and the surroundings were quiet, a perfect getaway. We'll be back!
