Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Barry

I cannot overstate how amazing this place is. I was looking for an escape into the woods and it was exactly what I wanted. The setting of the cottage is stunning, right on the river and surrounded by trees. It feels remote, even though it's only a short walk into the village. The welcome was really friendly, you can tell that the owners are very active in their community and have put together loads of local info. I particularly liked the map of the community forrest which made me feel confident enough to explore walks by myself. The cottage itself is beautifully kept, with everything that you need, and then some. I didn't want to leave.

Thanks for having us Jules. Perfect house for what we needed. Clean, comfortable and cosy. East to get into town by bus or Uber. Found somewhere to park on the street outside easily. Lovely and quiet at night. Perfect little garden.

Gaynor is a super-superhost. Welcoming, friendly and considerate, going the extra mile to ensure a perfect stay - milk, biscuits and coffee a thoughtfull extra for late arrivers. We will be back, without a doubt!

Place was lovely, really clean and well organised. Off road secure parking which was fab! Great hub to get to the Brecons, we did multiple hikes & explored the area. Valentina is really proactive with her communication and made it so easy. Plan to come back and would recommend to friends!!

What an amazing find. An idyllic cottage with outstanding views. Janet & Mike were very hospitable and friendly and I would highly recommend booking this cottage. We were welcomed by Mike who set up the log burner for us, so lovely to have a real fire on a chilly evening. We saw lots of baby rabbits, bats, sheep, chicken and Guinea Fowl, it felt just like Snow White’s cottage. A perfect relaxing, peaceful break away with breathtaking views across the Welsh countryside.

The original cottage has been renovated , decorated and furnished to a very high standard, making it a comfortable place to be. The outdoor space is delightful, with the relaxing sound of the river below and the plentiful birdsong.

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay , It was like a home 🏠 from home 🏡, very clean , Garden looks amazing 🤩 Beds most importantly very comfortable, Lynette a very responsive host ,great local walks, amazing mountain ⛰️ views from the windows and garden!we are definitely 👍🏻 coming back!! The chapel house is a hidden gem, with 2 beautiful balconys the one leading off the bedroom at the back has stunning views of mountains and is pure bliss to wake up to the beds are comfy. Everyone felt comfortable and relaxed for my two picky daughters they slept amazingly, i would advise though if you are plus size the shower is a tight fit so just be aware when booking. The host was brilliant couldnt have asked for better. Will definitely be looking to rebook again.

Lovely stay at Tors Park would highly recommend for anyone wanting to visit north Devon. Great location and easy access to many walks in the area. The apartments have absolutely everything you will need and the sauna and cold plunge were a nice addition. Although the cold plunge was unserviceable when I was hoping to use it.

Beautiful place to stay. Very spatious, well furnished, stylish and a beautiful location. We had everything we needed for a long weekend stay as a family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alison's - thank you for having us! The spacious apartment has obviously been recently furnished, and it was extremely clean. There was everything we needed, with a very comfortable bed with high quality bed linen. Thank you for the generous welcome basket, which was ideal for our breakfasts, and we enjoyed the biscuits too! All in all we thought it was excellent, and a great location for visiting St Fagans and our Cardiff cousins. Thank you very much to Alison and Luigi, and we hope to stay with you again.

Really lovely little flat in a beautiful location - gorgeous views. The place had everything we needed, comfy bed and great shower. Elizabeth was very friendly and responsive too when we had any questions. Really lovely stay in the Welsh countryside!

A very nice apartment - clean and well equipped. In an excellent location to get to all the amenities in Clevedon. We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to book again next time we are in the area.

Robert was friendly and helpful. The location had a great train service, which I used to get into Cardiff. The locals were really friendly and there were pubs within walking distance, along with a good Indian. There aren't many shops in the town but there is a Co-op. It was a great base to get around the local areas and not far to the seaside. The apartment was very clean with everything I needed and dog friendly. The only reason I may not be back is because it is not a wheelchair friendly town to get around, with uneven pavements and few dropped curbs. I would definitely return were it not for that. We had a really great trip.

Emily helped us out of a huge hole at short notice when we couldn’t get in to the property that we had originally booked. She was very responsive and helpful, even though she was on holiday.

A lovely flat, perfect for 5 people for a weekend stay. The space has everything needed for a comfortable stay, including books and games for our toddler. Thankyou very much Maxine!

I have to come clean - I am an enthusiast of Penarth, the architecture of the town, the community feel, and everything about the place. Sarah's place, being among the oldest houses in the town, was a must for all the things I was looking for. Sarah herself is friendly and has clearly put a lot of herself into the house. My journey time to Penarth could have been subject to delays, being more than 500 miles... but we had good communication and met up without difficulty at the house. All in all, the house was cosy and well appointed. It also was a great base for strolling into Penarth Town centre and even, across the barrage, to Butetown and even Cardiff. I would thoroughly recommend Sara's house for your stay.

This clever barn conversion is quite thoughtfully designed and very comfortable inside and out. The professional level of decoration found a wonderful balance of beauty and homeyness; everything was lovely in the most welcoming way. There was lots of space for our family to spread out, and the beds and linens were excellent. As lovely as the house is, the best part by far is the view. It was absolutely stunning, rain or shine! We found ourselves drawn outside at all hours of the day to enjoy the sights and sounds around us. Just as described, there were places in the house where the wifi was spotty, and the track up through the neighboring farm to the house might be a challenge for some cars. As we had read about the property, we were not surprised and spent an absolutely wonderful week there! There were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores 10-15 minutes away in Abergavenny when we could tear ourselves away from this slice of paradise.

No complaints at all, the house is lovely and felt like a home from home. Well catered for all including a high chair and stair gate if required. Very clean, comfy beds and a generally very spacious house, great for bigger groups. A 20 minute walk to the centre so easily accessible, parking at the back was secured by the gates. A nice big garden if you’ve got kids with you. Would definitely book again if we come to Cardiff. Thanks!
