The area is a summer paradise, great trekking and wildlife on your doorstep, close to the National Park and World Heritage site of the Cirque de Gavarnie. The Tour de France passes often on the Col du Tourmalet. Bareges and the Tourmalet ski resort has the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees, 100k of pistes, high-speed lift network, free ski bus, just a few minutes to the slopes.

We needed calm and there we found some. We were able to take walks all around... Gavarnie circus, heavy, animal park... despite the bad weather we didn't get bored. There are all the necessary shops in the village. The place was perfect. the view of the mountain and the creek very soothing.
