Charming wood and stone thatched cottage nestled on the South slopes of Mont Mézenc, near Gerbier de Jonc (where the source of the Loire river is located), in the Borée district of Ardèche, 8 mins from the ski resort of Les Estables. An outstanding location!
“If you want to find peace and serenity, you have come to the right place. The small thatched cottage is full of charm, well equipped and very cozy. We loved the wood stove which really brings a very warm side. No TV, no internet and almost no network !!! Ideal for cutting yourself off from the world, refocusing on yourself and recharging your batteries in the great outdoors. Hike with pretty landscapes between Haute Loire and Ardèche. Ps: bring board games if you like that.”

“My sister and my 96-yr old mom and I took Juan Carlos' mixology class and loved it. The venue is really special. The "mixology" room is behind his mezcal bar and opens onto a beautiful open-air garden room full of different agave plants. It was our first introduction to mezcal and he taught us in great detail how to go through the tasting process. Then we went into the mixology room, where he had different local fruits, spices, and greens all ready for the creative process of designing your own cocktails. The first step was to learn the basic foundation of preparing a classic cocktail, and then we got to experiment. My mom loved this part and we all loved tasting our experiments! All of the proceeds of his classes go to his nonprofit organization, which is focused on teaching local people about Oaxacan heritage foods and food preparation so that they can benefit from the huge food-culture economy here.”
Unusual cabin bordered by 2 rivers, in the peaceful and unspoiled Beaume Valley, in a calm and rejuvenating setting. Located on 10ha of land on an old Ardèche farm which is gradually coming back to life, with an assertive ecological intention and according to the principles of permaculture, it is part of a more global agrotourism project which promotes ecological values, simplicity, freedom, harmony with nature. In fine weather, you can also camp, the terrain is large.
“Beautiful place! We slept one night in our VW Bulli on a sunny meadow with a swing and free-range chickens and one night in the beautiful homemade cabane. The whole farm is built as nature-based as possible with many small, loving self-made details. Very personable and relaxed host. Gladly again!”
