A beautiful self-catering cottage in a Victorian Shooting Lodge at start of the Pennine Way, on a private working farm in the High Peak. Surrounded by open access national park moorland and meadows. A further three renowned show caverns, 7 pubs, cafes and shops are within walking distance. The scenery is dramatic and ever changing as the weather rolls in over Mam Tor from the West. Temperature inversions create outstanding conditions for photography. The cottage is vernacular and decorated to English Heritage standards.

The setting of this cosy small detached cottage is beautiful and you feel quite secluded, yet the village of Edale is 1 minute walk away. From here you can enjoy the countryside by walking or biking, short or longer routes. There is a folder in the cottage with a selection of maps, which you are welcome to use and choose a route straight from the door. There are two pubs, two cafes and a general store in the village.

We have lovingly restored a section of our 300 year old cottage for guests to have their own privacy. Our cottage is one of the most central properties in Castleton village.
