This stay was everything I had hoped for and more. The large living room windows made us feel fully immersed in nature, while the space itself—both the living room and bedroom—was incredibly cozy, peaceful, and safe. Yvonne is a truly exceptional host. She went out of her way to help us with a few rides and even some laundry, all with such kindness and generosity. She made us feel completely at home and genuinely welcomed us back anytime. Thank you, Yvonne, for making my Ireland experience reflect the warmth and hospitality for which the country is known. I’ll never forget it.

Eileen's place was absolute serenity. Super quiet and a wonderful place to come back to after a busy day out exploring. Only a 10 minute drive into Tullamore, so easy access to shops and restaurants. We found it a great central location to enjoy day trips from. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, quiet base.

What a beautiful gem — and what wonderful hosts Emma and her bubbie were! We received such a warm welcome, along with their amazing dogs, Nala (don’t be fooled by her big German Shepherd looks — she’s a total softie) and sweet Jessie. The space was perfect: a super comfy bed, and a well-equipped kitchen stocked with fresh milk and eggs from their own hens, which we thoroughly enjoyed for breakfast. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Fox in the fields, saying hello to the mother hen and her chicks, and greeting the sheep in the morning. Such a magical place — beautiful surroundings, kind and generous hosts, and a truly special experience. We’d absolutely love to come back and stay a wee bit longer. Thank you! 🤗

Connie was absolutely wonderful from the day we booked. She answered all of our questions and had excellent suggestions for catering and other services we would need. She helped us get acquainted with the house when we arrived and brought a lovely basket of treats to help us settle in. Any issues we had in her centuries old home were quickly addressed and remedied or explained. Connie is a lovely woman and welcome in our home anytime. The home is spacious and full of character. We had many guests from many places, so spending time together and being able to take day trips was important. The grounds are well maintained and we had a lot of fun feeding the ponies and mule. The folly, where we held our handfasting, was perfect. We also met so many wonderful people in the little town of Ballycumber. The pubs were a lot of fun and we were happy to support the little grocery store for most needs. This was a great experience for all of us. We are so happy we chose Ballycumber House.
