Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Arco da Calheta

The view... Stunning! We more than enjoyed the time at Tatiana and her mother Ana's place. Ana looked after us and made sure everything was in order...and she is an angel!!! The house is very large and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped, we did not use the outdoor kitchen, but it is certainly great if you like to grill. We had the three bedrooms with sea views, but actually only for sleeping. We were also on the upper floor only once to play billiards. Actually, we only stayed in the large kitchen and in the outdoor area around the pool. As mentioned, the view is fantastic, the view of the Atlantic, amazing!For our car, we had our own wide garage, directly under the accommodation, with direct access to the house. The driveway may be a little narrow, but we had no problems with our SUV. Ana lives right below and is always helpful! Madeira, rental car, this accommodation, 5 stars+

The villa was beautiful - stunning location - and perfectly furnished. Lovely walk to Ponta do Sol village but the walk back is not for the faint hearted - Bolt is available :-) Whilst there were a few teething issues on arrival, Rita was super responsive and helpful in sorting any problems and our stay was great. It was a lovely stay in a stunning villa with amazing views and we would love to come back.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! The house is extremely clean and matches the pictures perfectly. We even had freshly stocked groceries when we arrived which was a huge plus after 3 long flights. This location is so close to many delicious restaurants and the beach. We absolutely loved the pool and sun bed. 10/10 recommend!!! We already want to plan another trip back 🩷 THANK YOU!

The house was exactly as described — clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Everything was well prepared for our arrival, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and the whole place had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect — quiet and peaceful, yet close to local shops, restaurants, and everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space (great for morning coffee or relaxing in the evening). The host was extremely friendly and responsive, always ready to help or answer any questions. You can really tell they care about their guests and put a lot of thought into making the stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

Quinta Ribeiro was a very nice, practical cottage with everything you need. Quiet location, fantastic views. Great facilities outside, we have therefore lived completely outside. A top location! And every question we had was answered almost immediately by Ivo: great host!

We had a really good time at Claudia's appartment, the location is perfect for visiting the whole Madeira island, peaceful and with amazing views. The pool will heal all your hiking pain!

We stayed 13 nights at Fatima's. We've never had a place so clean! The accommodation is damp but Fatima makes sure that we are as comfortable as possible (spare sheets, towels in large quantities, etc.). The apartment is very well equipped, we did not lack anything. The views are splendid! Fatima and her family know how to welcome us, they are very kind and very responsive to our requests. The only negative point, but which is minimal compared to the full potential of the accommodation, is the sound insulation. The ceiling is just a floor and we can hear Fatima and her family walking if we stay in the apartment during the day. The noise never woke us up or prevented us from falling asleep. We highly recommend this accommodation and now know where to stay if we have the opportunity to return to visit the beautiful island of Madeira.

The place was beautiful in a very quiet location with stunning views. Everything was clean and furnished with love so that you can only feel comfortable from the first moment. It had everything you need, we also loved the many kitchen utensils and the grill, which we used every day. The terrace with whirlpool, lounge, loungers and table were the highlight. We spent a lot of time in the accommodation because we felt so comfortable. The beach Calheta is 5 minutes by car easy to reach and highly recommended. We also loved the private parking. Bruno and Maria are very accommodating and also asked how we are doing and if we need anything. The location was perfect for us, very quiet, lots of privacy and yet we can get everywhere by car. Great apartment which gives the feeling of home. Very well equipped with everything you need to spend the holidays. Close to shops, restaurants, paddle court, port which made it easy to find activities. 5 min walk to two beaches (sand and rocky). Very responsive hosts, clear instructions were given from the beginning. The parking place saved us from the hassle of finding parking so great value to have. Would recommend for a family stay

upon arrival we were very well received by Ana. She explained everything to us and we were even able to arrive a little early at the apartment. She gave us tips for sightseeing, dining, and also told us the nearest supermarket. Ana was at her best!!! The apartment is perfect, there is everything you need even more than we imagined. Thank you for everything! We were able to fully enjoy this beautiful island. And Gabriel spent almost all his evenings in the pool 😄 thank you again from all 3 of us

We had a great time at Germano's. It's his parents who manage the accommodation, and they took great care to ensure that our stay went smoothly! Thank you again. The accommodation is impeccable, spacious, perfectly equipped. The views are superb and the pool is a real plus! There are plenty of good restaurants around, we enjoyed the calm and the very peaceful side of Jardim do Mar with nice walks. We found it hard to leave! A gem if you're looking for a unique place in Madeira for your vacation!

The accommodation offers a parking space, breathtaking views and in the kitchen you can find everything you need for cooking. Also very clean - so everything is great and you get what the pictures promise

Flawless accommodation, great terrace, it's really a plus Barbecue available, very nice! Small downside on the bedding and the musty smell in the house. Please note, parking at the top of a very steep slope, difficult to access from the road...

The stay at Juan’s House let us to relax in great atmosphere. The apartment is well equiped even including cofee machine. There is a view at ocean from taracce. It is very clean and very well prepared for guests.

Leonardo let us check in early. Beautiful clean environment right next to the water. He provided a clear and quick video to watch for instructions. Parking is a little complicated but your car is safe in a garage which is nice. Definitely recommend.

A lovely apartment: convenient, well-situated and pleasant views. Good location if you have a hire car; Funchal isn’t far at all, and there are many local shops and restaurants. Host-wise, unless you speak a little Portuguese, it can be slightly difficult; Jose is happy to call and speak for his mother. Very friendly and welcoming!!!

This apartment has a very good vibe! Would definitely recommend or choose again! You can watch and listen to the waves which makes it even more amazing. It is simple, pure and clean, towels were big and had a great scent. Pillows were good quality and very comfortable. There is a restaurant (and by the way very good restaurant) in the neighborhood, it’s not disturbing, there’s no music or shouting but there is some business in the evening until guests leave around 9pm.

Great apartment. Everything as described. Tip...bring some shower/bath gel or buy some locally. There was only little bottles of shampoo. This was to start you off when you arrived, but, if you feel like a shower after a long journey it would be nice to have just a couple of small bottles of gel just for the initial shower or bath. It was quite noisy when we stayed with very loud building works with an excavator loading and crashing rocks and boulders into the lorries and travelling right past the apartment loaded with all of those 🥺 This was at the front of the apartment, so although we couldn't use the balcony there: thankfully the bedroom was at the rear of the property, so a lie in was possible when the work started early in the morning. However, this may not be the case for any future guests as they may have finished the works before they arrive. Other than this problem, we had a great time on this beautiful island ( our 8th visit and our first time in self catering)

Can’t recommend enough. Clean, fantastic space, great location. Marina really helpful and always responsive. Well equipped kitchen with everything for meals in but equally a 10 minute drive into Funchal. The view from the apartment is beautiful and the location means everything is easily accessible. Supermarket across the road. We didn’t hire a car because the location was so great.
