Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Akureyri

We are family of 4. The house is very clean with amazing views. We have everything we need here. Bathroom is clean and warm. We cooked quite often and the kitchen utensils are of high quality. This is one of the top3 Air B&B we have ever stayed for the last 10years we travel around. Thank you Agusta for sharing this house .

We stayed four nights and did day trips from the house. It was a great starting point for the northern Golden Circle. The house is lovely and as pictured. The kitchen is nicely equipped for meals at home. Loved the views and the hotpot. We would love to return!

This home so great! Had everything g we needed for a big family. Beautiful location, so close to town and was perfect for us in every way.

Beautiful location - plus we were lucky enough to see northern lights right there! Place was as described, very comfortable, easy drive to downtown Akureyri. We had a wonderful time - thank you!

Stayed here for (unfortunately only) one night with a group of six people. Lovely house, very clean and with everything you need. Enjoyed every second of it. Four people could sleep upstairs and two downstairs with two separate bathrooms. Two minutes walking distance from village centre, port and Hering museum. And a beautiful view over the city and the fjord. Big recommendation! :)

This House was a really Great Choice. It is a Little Bit further away from the ringroute but that made it really quiet and scenic too. It still is easy to reach and you have everything you need close by. I highly recommend to take a detour to this City it is really worth it. Herdís was a really helpful and friendly Host. If im ever going to visit Iceland again I make sure to take a stop there again.

Remy’s place was probably the most beautiful Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The views totally exceeded my expectations- I could take my eyes away from the window where I was able to see the most beautiful sunset/sunrise over the fjord. My only regret is that I didn’t stay here longer! Thank you Remy- for being an amazing host and I hope that I can visit again someday

I wish we could have stayed here for a week. Or a month. Such a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great design and architecture. Happy little signs of family life but also spacious and accommodating. Both secluded and close to Akureyri. Only regret is that I didn’t try out one of the many hammocks on the property. Loved taking a small watercolor, painted by the host’s mother, home as a reminder of our stay.

This peaceful corner is perfect for taking a few days for yourself. Ultra thanks to Runar who was very kind to us.

Cozy little house with breathtaking views 🤩 The cats and the dog are adorable 😻 🐕 Our hosts were very nice and pleasant. The hot tub is obviously a plus!

We stayed 3 nights, we used it as a base to explore Lake Mytvan and go whale watching from Husavik. Lovely, comfortable apartment in a nice neighbourhood, near to supermarket and petrol station. Host Anita very friendly and helpful about how to pay the toll for the tunnel and how to take a different route to avoid the toll. 100% satisfied customers. Highly recommended.

Clean and cozy place to stay. Snowstorm in June... we didn't expect that after the south was sunny. Saevar provided us with tips for snowy weather, thank you so much!

We had an unforgettable 2-day stay at Tora’s beautiful studio house. The place was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The surrounding scenery was absolutely stunning, with sweeping views that made every moment feel like a postcard. One of the highlights was having horses nearby — such a peaceful and unique experience! And the swing was a fun for my daughter and unexpected touch that added to the charm of the property. Tora was a wonderful host — warm, responsive, and thoughtful. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Iceland’s natural beauty in a peaceful, scenic setting. We’d definitely love to return!

The place is just beautiful. The view, the surroundings, the furnishings. Our stay here could not have been better.

This Airbnb in Akureyri was a great choice, as it was close to the centre and the interior was really nice (furnished with wooden mid-century furniture, which was a big plus for me). Helga, our host was very friendly and helpful, she recommended great restaurants, we tried one of them, and had a top notch experience.

Couldn’t recommend a stay at Pétur’s place more! Apartment was spacious and very clean. Outdoor space was lovely as well.

Big spacious apartment with a beautiful backdrop of mountains out of the windows. The apartment is equipped with all necessary amenities and Tomas is an amazing host. I would surely recommend it this place for exploring northern Iceland.

A cosy little apartment, clean and modern. The house is a bit worn down, but the apartment itself is nice.

This was by far the best place we stayed during our visit to Iceland. The unit was nicely equipped from the kitchen to the linens. Location was walkable to dinner and local shopping. We were even able to walk to the docks for our whale watching excursion. Our only driving was to the Forest Lagoon hot springs (highly recommend them, we went twice)

Nicely decorated apartment, spacious kitchen, free street parking right by the door, responsive host, good linen. Note that the washing machine and dryer are in a shared room with the apartment downstairs.

We felt very much at home in Ragnheiður's cosy apartment. It's very quiet with view over pastures, horses and mountains. You'll find a fully equiped kitchen with everything you need and the whole flat ist VERY clean! Even on foggy days there is a lot of daylight in the living room. We were allowed to use the washing machine, which was a lifesaver. Ragnheiður was very kind and helpful and always very quick to respond to questions!
