Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Windermere

The location is fantastic and there is another route if you dont fancy the very steep hill up to the property. There was enough space for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and hot tub as the weather was intermittent!! There was a small issue with the heating which the hosts responded to immediately. A great central base for exploring.

Lovely house, great views, within 30 mins drive to all main south lakes sights. Communication and check in all very easy and clear. We had a great stay :)

Had a great stay at The Falls property, such a cosy spot and just beautiful views. We were sad that we didnt really get to use the outside space as it looked great, and we were sad to leave. Would definitely book again if we were in Ambleside. Don't be put off that its outside the town, we timed a 7 minute walk through the back roads which was perfect, also meant we had parking which is clearly at a premium in the town!

A cozy spot perfectly located for an escape to the lakes. The birdhouse had everything you could need and the bed was so comfortable. We had such an amazing weekend and can't wait to come back!

Amazing kitchen we both loved cooking in our tapas meal in it. It was great to have a selection of herbs and spices already in the kitchen. Everything clean and tidy . We’re just home after a very lovely stay in the most beautiful location. Louise communicated well and provided us with a pristine place to stay with everything we could wish for to make us feel at home. The apartment has the most amazing views from every room and is very comfortable and well equipped. There are so many lovely places to visit in the area, some walkable from the accommodation, that we definitely need to visit again. We would have no hesitation in recommending this air bnb - it’s one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you Louise and Mick 😊

Really enjoyed our stay at Black Mesa. A very cosy, restful and comfortable place to come back to after a day's walking. Great location with lots to do round and about.

This lodge was beautiful with amazing views over Lake Windermere from both the deck and the living room. The weather was a mix, but honestly, it was stunning whether it was raining or sunny, though the sunshine definitely made it even more magical. The lodge itself was spotless and had everything we needed, making it feel super cozy and like a home away from home. White Cross Bay Holiday Park was a great spot, really peaceful and in a perfect location for exploring, whether on foot or by car. We’ll definitely be back for another stay!

We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

Really enjoyed our stay, we were celebrating my Mother’s 90th birthday and had other family members staying in other lodges around the park. Beautiful scenery and great location. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Lovely caravan sited on a well kept location. We are an older couple who only stayed one night to break up a journey, but would thoroughly recommend this space especially if you have a young family. Spotlessly clean and stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay, it makes for a very enjoyable holiday. Many thanks to the hosts!

What a fabulous few days me and my boys had ..I’ve never seen them so relaxed (ages 35 and 37 )x I think it was the lovely energy we felt in the beautiful Nest xx looking out over the river each morning set us up for the day. Would recommend 100% , we had everything we needed ..I couldn’t fault it ..the bedrooms immaculate and the beds /bedding were soft clean and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the gym and pool offer also x staff there were lovely at the Swan Hotel. Thank you xx

We had a wonderful 5 day stay! The caravan was perfect for our family of four (plus our dog) — cozy, spacious, and full of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. What really stood out was the incredible attention to detail, especially for our pup — treats, a towel, and even a blanket were waiting for her. It was so heartwarming and showed how much care went into everything. Our host was amazing — Sam sent us great recommendations in advance for places to eat and things to do, which made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. The fresh flowers and duck food left for us were such a lovely surprise — it truly felt like a personal and welcoming experience. We’re so grateful and would absolutely love to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, pet-friendly getaway!

The cottage was impeccably clean lovely furnishings very homely beautiful surroundings bed linen clean and fresh beautiful garden / dog friendly the cottage is equipped with everything you may need whilst you stay i would and have recommended to friends and family and we will be back next year !!! We had a great stay at Hilltop, it's a lovely cottage. I was able to have breakfast outside every day of my stay which was a real luxury for me. We did some great hikes too venturing to the Borrowdale valley with its stunning views and even went down to the beach one day. Good communication with Natasha as well, would definitely reccomend.

We had a wonderful stay the place met all our needs and more! It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break in the Lake District. The location was perfect peaceful yet close to lovely walks, local pubs, and scenic spots. The host was helpful and responsive, making everything easy from start to finish. We’d definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stress-free getaway.

Dylan was very helpful the cottage has excellent modern facilities. Luxurious Bedding and linen the whole cottage was pristine clean, and no clutter. It is a unique property inn that is a conversion of a former church and so is very social. it is in a peaceful location and following the sat nav given by Dylan was easy to find. Very comfortable beds it has to be said that the cottage met our needs perfectly and met the description given 100% which was why we choose it.

We had a lovely time at Morven’s place, which was our second visit to Hideaway Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and has a great location in Staveley with good links into the heart of the Lakes. Easy walks are accessible from the cottage. A perfect spot for a quiet few days of rest and relaxation!

Rose Cottage is a truly wonderful place to stay. We had a fantastic break with our two dogs and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and well-equipped home base. Jo has thought of every detail—from the exceptionally well-stocked kitchen for home-cooked meals, to the shelves filled with books, board games, and a brilliant selection of hiking guides to help you plan your next adventure. The beds are incredibly comfortable, which is a real treat after a day out walking. If you’d rather take it easy, the garden offers the perfect spot to unwind. The location is excellent, with scenic walks right from the doorstep and easy access to the touristy spots in the Lakes. Caldbeck has everything you might need, a great pub, a couple of charming cafés, a local shop, and more. Jo and Chris are truly inspiring hosts. It was a joy to hear about their adventures and journey with Rose Cottage. They were also incredibly generous with their time, going above and beyond when our car broke down.

Annie’s Weaving Room is a fantastic place to stay. Location is perfect for accessing the surrounding area. Only a short walk into Bowness itself yet location is very peaceful. The accommodation was spotless throughout and had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. Can’t recommend enough.

Kylie’s home was lovely and we had a great time. Check in was very simple; the house was clean and location was great for our Windermere staycation especially since we didn’t have a car. Kylie was also very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. Would definitely recommend Kylie’s place to anyone visiting Windermere.
