Vacation rentals with breakfast in Whanganui River

Absolutely delightful cottage which catered for all our needs (3 generations!). warm, dry, clean. Very well equipped and we really appreciated the extra details and treats in the pantry and fridge!! Host was warm and welcoming & check in was a breeze. We wish we could have stayed longer but I'm sure we will be back again! Thankyou!

Excellent home for a large group, the view was amazing looking out at the whanganui river, very sunny. Had all the amenities and extras too, it was a well equiped home. Will definitely go and stay again. Peter was fantastic around the communications. Thank you for letting us stay at your home.

This is a great wee place, the gardens and surrounds are lovely. It was a shame it was the middle of winter, because the pool looked great too. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need. Really felt like a home away from home.

Absolutely loved our stay at Andrew’s, it was so peaceful and surrounded by beautiful native bush, meaning the bird life was bountiful. The house was everything we needed, the fireplaces made us feel at home and cozy. Communication was great, and Catherine was super helpful and always available for questions. We’ll be back for sure!!

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Honor’s place — we were so lucky to find it and it answered everything that we needed. The house was immaculate and beautiful settled in a wonderful garden and less than a minute to the river and we couldn’t have had a nicer time with the perfect hosts.

A very charming stay with very kind hosts. steps to the bathroom were no issue for us but could be for someone with impaired mobility. really appreciated the complimentary beverages and cookies. Would stay here again.

We had a very pleasant overnight stay.Dirk & Louise were there to greet us & made us feel very welcome. It was a chilly evening & they had the room heated for us. We had a peaceful & good sleep.The next morning they were there to say goodbye.The breakfast was nice & we would have no hesitation in returning.Thank you Dirk & Louise

The apartment was pristine and cozy! We really appreciated Anna’s attention to detail with all the amenities and household features; the view was beautiful and our stay was absolute bliss.

A lovely stay in Ohakune, gorgeous views of the mountain and a short drive to lovely restaurants and the supermarket. Having the spa pool was definitely a real bonus, after a cold and tiring day cycling the Old Coach Road it was just what we needed! Richard was a great host, very friendly and made everything really easy with check in. Would stay here again if returning to Ohakune. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Jude’s place is a hidden treasure in Ohakune. It was spotless and has the best views. Farm-style living yet so close to the town. Jude and Luigi are such lovely people and amazing hosts. Piper, their dog was our best companion. We are definitely wanting to stay here again.

Beautiful and convenient stay in Whanganui. Great design and decor in the historic building. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Walkable to restaurants and downtown.

MOST AMAZING CABIN!! Can't possibly say enough about how fantastic the hosts and property are. We would have been happy spending our entire vacation here. So close to the parks and "Mount Doom" and other LOTR locations -- the entire back side of the cabin is a view of "Mt Doom" and there's a LOTR Risk game!! Pool table was so fun to use. Bed was super comfy. Used the washer/dryer (laundry detergent, no dryer sheets) and dishwasher, bathrooms (remember to bring your own toiletries), kitchen -- all very well stocked with cooking utensils and basics (salt pepper oil - I think there was sugar/flour too?). There's plunger coffee maker. Appreciated the OJ and crumpets and scrumptious home made raspberry preserves. Hot tub on the back deck fantastic too. Deb and Dave so friendly and flexible with our schedule. You won't believe how private and secluded the cabin feels - perched up on top of the hill. We really hope to stay here again one day - LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! BEST HOSTS!

We had a wonderful few days stay with Alice and Calvyn, who were both incredibly helpful and welcoming. A great place and very centrally located. We would happily stay again if we are in Whanganui. Sharon and Don

Had a lovely stay after a day of travel. Lovely comfy beds, clean and welcoming. Had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fran’s. Very private and lovely rooms. We especially loved the great breakfast selection. Easy contactless entry to the rooms and peaceful location. Fran is very friendly and accomodating. We would stay there again if ever we travelled back to the Manawatu.

I stayed at the Gumnut B&B for just two nights on a road trip through Whanganui. The guest space is large enough to be an apartment because there is a lounge and dining room as well as a bedroom and dedicated bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and generous. I spent my first afternoon on the porch enjoying the cool breeze and pleasant weather with views of the garden. The neighborhood is quiet at night and felt safe. I walked into downtown to explore Whanganui. Maryann and Barry were friendly hosts and Maryann stopped to chat with me when she had time. I recommend staying at the Gumnut B&B and I would gladly stay again.

Barb and Mike are amazing hosts and we had a lovely and comfortable stay at Tongariro Adventures. The national park is only a short drive away. The waterfront is a few steps away and there are amazing trails around the area. Barb and Mike’s place exceeded our expectations and their hospitality made us feel very welcome. Also, top marks for the amazing breakfast!!

Tony’s place was awesome. Tony was super welcoming and place is nicely located. Tony got a regular from now on.
