Family-friendly vacation rentals in Waverveen

Fred and Kelly’s place is absolutely wonderful. We stayed because the price was better and there was a little more room than many places directly in the city. Though we looked forward to it, we didn’t expect to fall in love with it…and we did! Staying outside of the city is pretty great. It’s a 10ish minute walk to the train station, and then an easy navigation to wherever you need to go. We didn’t mind the “commute” a bit, and it was nice to start off and wind down in a quieter setting. The place itself is well kept, clean, and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We enjoyed casting Netflix on the TV with the fireplace on in the evenings, and we spent a couple of mornings in the garden. We booked this spot our entire stay, but also spent one night in Amsterdam to experience “city life,” and also spent one night in Utrecht. These were perfect additions to our home base plan. I’d definitely stay here again!

This yurt and everything around it is so incredibly wonderful! The hosts are super warm and great, we had 100% privacy and yet the feeling that there is always someone there who cares. The surroundings offer a lot of peace, you can unwind and watch the animals around you all day and the stars at night. And if you need a little more action, there are bicycles you can pack to explore the area and the sea. The yurt has everything you need to feel comfortable. Games, record player, a great kitchen, clean and luxurious bathroom and shower, lots of chill options inside and outside and the private hot tub on the terrace makes everything almost too perfect. We really have nothing to complain about, it was just great!! Thanks so much :)

Plenty of room, quiet neighborhood. The M5 bus made our commute to Train then Amsterdam easier. (Approx 1 hour). Loved the 2 free bikes available for us to use. The sauna was a lovely bonus to use at night to relax. Moniek’s was resourceful and actively answering our questions. Alot of gadget in the house, no cable on TV so it was hard for my elderly parents to figure out how to use an intelligent tv with Netflix and all but we managed differently. Area was really nice close to the house but Almere centrum gets a bit suspicious at night so be aware to not be a women alone at night coming back -even locals fidy not recommended.

We had a wonderful relaxing family weekend in a beautiful house with a wonderful garden. Plenty of room for everyone to relax and equipped with every comfort.

What a fun experience! And what a terrific host! In a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. To say we got to stay on a houseboat in Amsterdam is always going to be a fun memory! But note, it is definitely a boat. You must be fully able bodied to access the boat and get around comfortably inside. The kitchen is suitable for snacks. And as with most European AirBnBs, bring your own bath products.

Nice apartment with wonderful jacuzzi in a closed part of the garden. Very private and wonderful for a weekend getaway from the busy daily life. Nice kitchen, great bed and good shower. Even a washing machine (not used but still).

What a dream place! From the first contact, everything went very smoothly and cordially. Fareen is a warm, attentive host who had prepared everything with care and attention to detail. The communication was quick, friendly and personal – we felt welcome immediately. The cottage is cozy, atmospheric and surrounded by peace and nature. Everything was taken care of to the last detail and fully equipped. We enjoyed a delicious glass of wine in the garden, the comfortable interior, and the feeling of coming home to a special place. Great place and great hosts. We had a lot of fun and felt comfortable. The accommodation was accessible by boat and we could go shopping by boat. It was a real adventure. The accommodation and the pool were clean. Everything worked out for us ☀️

I’m emotional about leaving this absolute treasure of a rental- wish we could stay forever. We booked Darley’s on the recommendation of well-traveled local friends who literally *moved* to Hilversum after staying here and told us it was the best Airbnb of all time. (These friends also know that I’m finicky about vacation rentals and generally prefer hotels.) I’m SO glad we listened to them. This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful, well-appointed, lavish, thoughtfully stocked, gorgeously furnished, comfortable Airbnb ever, and now I’m probably ruined for all others. It could have been half as incredible for twice the price - we’d still be delighted. I’ve never felt more at home while traveling. We had all the privacy, comfort, provisions, fresh flowers and fruit, random fun perks, great water pressure, immaculate cleanliness, inspiring corners, luxurious linens, and other copious supplies we didn’t know we needed. Thank you, Marielise, for the Airbnb experience of a lifetime. WOW.

This place is so adorable! It has an amazing terrace, and right in the center of the city with so much to do. The place was so comfortable and had all the amenities we would have needed. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking to explore Amsterdam!

The host is comfortable, flexible and cooperative. The cottage is wonderful and more beautiful than the photos shown. The cottage's accessories are very beautiful. The cottage and its surroundings are a garden and arranged seating and well-maintained trees. The little river is wonderful. I highly recommend the cottage

Mrs. Trienie's hospitality was like a dream. She greeted us very nicely, showed us around the cottage and offered various attractions. We are very grateful for such hospitality and kindness. The area is beautiful - full of greenery, rural animals only complemented this wonderful landscape. The cottage is very cozy and clean. The place had everything we needed for everyday functioning. We are enchanted by everything we have seen in the area and we will definitely return for, I hope, a longer stay. Thank you!

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Alkmaar! It is close enough to enjoy all that the city has to offer, yet it also provides a beautiful, peaceful escape from the business and crowds. Han and Kelly were great hosts, providing helpful recommendations and even rides from the train station and into Alkmaar. We also enjoyed hanging out with the dog, cat and chickens! We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place exactly as described. It's not 5*, it is two old (but well looked after) caravans, but they have everything you need and look out over the garden and the fields beyond. Easy cycle to get to Gouda and there are shops etc in Stompwijk only a short walk away

A week of relaxation among the bustle of the birds. In rainy weather, there is plenty of space inside and in nice weather a very pleasant garden to sit in. Nearby, there is plenty to do, shops are close. Everything is available to cook for yourself. Baking pizza in the pizza oven was also fun to do. Definitely recommended. We felt comfortable.

At Wendela and Martin you have a lovely quiet (private) place. They live on the road themselves, but behind they have built a cottage with everything you need. Also a private terrace where it was wonderful to spend the evening. Wendela and Martin are very friendly, warm welcome with delicious strawberries and cold drinks in the fridge. The cottage is full of comforts and has good beds and a nice shower. We were looking for a place to stay because our son participated in the Ironman 70.3 and then this place is definitely recommended. But it is also a good base to take beautiful bike rides. We have therefore had a number of wonderful days.

Wonderful place to stay. We felt right at home. What a lot of nice places to sit and the decor is completely nice. In addition, a beautiful garden environment and lots of privacy. I slept wonderfully in the bedstee (we called it the dowry because of the nice curtains). And also nice that we could use the bikes!

We had a really nice time, it's locations is great, nice restaurants and a supermarket nearby, close to the Hoge Veluwe national park

The cottage is on a small-scale green park, where you can go with your dog. In fact, it was Pentecost weekend and I've never seen so many dogs. All on a leash and only friendly dogs. With a few minutes walk you are in the forest, where - in some places - the dog can also go off the leash. There is also a communal swimming pool that you can use. The cottage is comfortable, the bed is good and also in a nice place where you have no view. Communication with the hostess, Jacq , is perfect. She responds immediately to any question. Thank you for the nice days.

We spent a lovely, relaxing long weekend at Madeleen‘s place, a cute apartment in a charming old house with a gorgeous garden directly by the Ijsselmeer. While there is no proper kitchen, Madeleen provides everything you need to make yourself a coffee or a sandwich, with a coffeemaker and a large fridge at your disposal. There is a pretty good restaurant in walking distance, and quite a few more a short car drive away. Getting to Amsterdam is easy, and after a busy day in the city, the garden and the quiet are absolutely wonderful, as is a quick dip in the cool water. Madeleen‘s friend Anna welcomed us and was a perfect hostess who we very much enjoyed chatting with. We had a great time and hope to visit again sometime soon. Thanks for everything!

A super cozy accommodation in quiet surroundings. Dogs are welcome and the adjacent forest is within 5 minutes walking distance. The accommodation is super equipped (toaster, dishwasher, hair dryer, spices, etc.) and even coffee for the coffee machine was available. The large garden offers sun all day, in the accommodation the temperature was pleasant even at 30° outside temperature. Most attractions and cities in the area can be reached within 30 minutes by car.

There were six of us on a family vacation with two kids and grandma and grandpa. We had a great time at Karin's house. It is perfectly equipped, very clean and lovingly furnished. The park offers many activities, but not everything is described as on the homepage (e.g. electric cars for kids are not in operation). We were in the off-season in May and there was quite a lot of activity in the park. If you are looking for peace and solitude, this is the wrong place. It was perfect for us with the kids. The beach is fantastic. Would love to come back!
