Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Waterland

We were only there for a weekend but we will definitely be back. The house is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures and it has everything you need. Also some spices and cooking utensils - everything was simply thought of.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house is very cozy and we felt right at home. Jeroen was always available and responded quickly. Before the noise from the tower's chimes, we were a little worried, but for us it was bearable and not disturbing. We really enjoyed the evenings in the hot tub. It worked great and was immediately operational, as was the sauna. The location is great, great place with restaurant options around the corner and by bus we were in Amsterdam in no time. We highly recommend the host and the accommodation.

Lovely stay in a beautiful location with easy access to Amsterdam using public transport. Very helpful hosts with frequent communication answering any questions and even booking dinner on our behalf. Highly recommended!

Ideally situated (20 minutes from Amsterdam city center) in a beautiful , peaceful setting. A real family house, warm and welcoming. We have had a great time.

We would have liked to stay two more nights - there would still be a lot to discover in Amsterdam... and the small cozy house is so relaxing after the many people and the hustle and bustle in the city. Beautiful accommodation is centrally located in Volendam. Amsterdam is easily accessible by bus in 25 minutes. Host is super accessible and responds quickly.

We were totally satisfied with the small cottage, everything was as described, very clean and beautifully decorated. The location is also great, neither the beach nor downtown Amsterdam is far away. The immediate surroundings are very quiet and close to nature. Glad to come back :)

Very nice apartment in beautiful quiet town!!

I can't say enough positive things about our stay at Kevin and Kim's beautiful home. The place was fantastic and exactly as advertised. We felt right at home immediately in their immaculately clean home. It had everything we needed for a quick getaway. It was close to busses, the grocery store and the lovely shops and promenade in Volendam on the water. Amsterdam was only a 20 minute bus ride. Kevin greeted us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Truly a great experience. I would book with Kevin and Kim in a heartbeat again should our travels return to Volendam.

Cute spot for a vacation

The location is in front of harbor and very close to the historic center of Monnickendam. Bus access was very good for nearby towns and villages, including Marken, Volendam, Edam and Broek in Waterland. I was happy to see the sunrise across the harbor and yachts from the window of this attic apartment. I also really liked the check-in time was early from 13:00. This made me to leave my bags in the apartment early and explore Monnickendam well in the afternoon. It is very good for especially a short term stay in this well organized clean apartment. Joke and Peter were both friendly hosts.

I stayed at Vivian’s place with my elderly mom, and we had a great time! It is extremely conveniently located near all of the restaurants on the promenade. You just have to step out the door, walk a few steps, and you’re right on the promenade. The modern kitchen is nice, sometimes a bit inconvenient if you are not very tech-savvy or want to use a mokka pot for example (which you can’t on the induction plates). Two things to be aware of: 1. there is a small step from the main bedroom to the main bathroom, which tripped my elderly mom the first time. 2. If you are staying on a Friday/Saturday night, be prepared for lots of loud and drunk yelling from the nearby bar until about 1 am. The TV had German and British channels, which was great for my mom in the evening. Free parking is about 10 min walking away. Vivian has been very responsive and gave us some great restaurant suggestions (Smit-Bokkum and Romy’s Kitchen!). We would definitely stay again!

This apartment was amazing for our quick trip to Amsterdam. The location is perfect—right on one of the main canals and walkable to everything. Helena was such a gracious host and gave us some great recs for vintage shopping, drinks, and eats. The space was well appointed and she was so flexible with our arrival and departure times. I would 100% recommend this place and would stay here again on a future visit.

Yafit and Jerry’s apartment was everything we wanted and more! Such a beautiful spot and well equipped. Me and my friend stayed for 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed chilling on the outdoor seating area after a long day of sight seeing in Amsterdam. On our first day we explored Zaandam on foot and on the bikes provided at the apartment. We visited nearby Zaanse Schans which was great! The other two days we spent sightseeing in Amsterdam which was easy to reach on the train. We loved our trip and we would happily stay here again!

The location of this Airbnb is excellent — situated in a quiet neighborhood that made for a peaceful stay. The studio is small but cozy, featuring a comfortable bed and a shower with great pressure and temperature. Since the apartment is in the basement, you could occasionally hear noises from the residence above, but it was never a major disturbance. One of the best parts is that it’s right next to a lovely park, making it super walkable. Plus, you can easily walk to many of Amsterdam’s main attractions from here, which is very convenient. The host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again if I return to Amsterdam.

The Condominium is in a nice quiet part of Amsterdam, but still easy to get to city centre. Was very clean and comfortable.

We had a great time in this sweet apartment. We loved sitting in the living room overlooking the canal and appreciated the great shower and overall layout of the apartment. The location is fantastic. Very residential and more peaceful than other parts of the city we have been to. We highly recommend it!

This place was wonderful! It was just as described. We enjoyed listening to the birds (wild parakeets and others) as we sat on the balcony in the mornings. The stairs are steep and narrow but that is just part of being in Amsterdam. One thing to note, there are 2 showers, 2 sinks, but only 1 toilet. It didn’t cause any problem for me, but those staying in the first floor bedroom will have to climb up stairs in the middle of the night. Overall, I highly recommend!

Henri our stay was very nice and the personal touch like ,fruit,beard,eggs etc in the fridge and the other personal touches in the flat made us very welcome,if we come to Amsterdam again i would definitely stay there,it was excellent.thankyou mel & henri for allowing us to share your home with us . Our stay with MorningStar in Amsterdam was absolutely exceptional. The home was pristine, beautifully designed, and full of luxurious touches that made our three-night stay unforgettable.
