Self Catering This 300 yr old Thatched Cottage has been restored and has some of the original features like the original fire place , original floors and old style furniture, we tried to maintain as much of an authentic old time atmosphere as possible whilst also providing for comfort and pleasure. Some of the rooms are small . The road outside the cottage can be busy at times you will need to take care going out of the driveway the traffic mirror will help you out .

This is a gorgeous little hut built in the top corner of a hay barn, but has the feeling of a comfortable treehouse. It is located in a peaceful rural setting overlooking a field. It is quite near other buildings in which we live, but it is totally private. Access requires climbing two short flights of sturdy steps which bring you on to its balcony Kilkenny city is a handy 20 minute drive away, but a car is needed as there is no public transport. A perfect place to retreat to.

We loved our stay with Niamh and Joe. I didn't think the pictures did justice to their artsy decor with humorous touches. And the elegant breakfast room was a welcome bonus. First class :) Joe was very helpful in giving us pamphlets of things to do in the city and surrounding area as well as a page of dining suggestions. The house is a short walk to all kinds of dining and shops, as well as the castle. We stumbled across a lovely trail which followed the river, bringing us out to the far end of the castle grounds. We recommend this for an evening stroll.

Der Aufenthalt bei Margaret hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Sie ist super freundlich uns hilfsbereit und hat uns gute Tipps für den Besuch in Kilkenny gegeben. Sie hat uns sogar in die Stadt gefahren, was wirklich sehr nett war. Für ein gutes Frühstück war alles vorhanden und wir durften sogar Früchte für die Weiterfahrt mitnehmen. Auch für unsere Weiterfahrt nach Cork hatte sie wertvolle Tipps. Es war ein super Aufenthalt und wir empfehlen die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiter!

Agnes is a lovely and very caring host. We felt right at home, everything was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was more then we could have asked for. She also has a bunch of recommendations for Kilkenny and surroundings. We will definitely come back should we be in Ireland again and can only recommend a stay at her house :)

The rooms and grounds were stunning. Alexander was very accommodating and friendly, my parents and I felt right at home. The tour of the residence and garden were fantastic and hearing about the family history before staying in this lovely home was fascinating. Our stay Huntington Castle was the best of our Ireland trip hands down.

We had a short but lovely time at Oonaghs Place. The room and bathroom were very clean and well equipped. Parking in front of the house or around the corner, 20 min walk to the city center. Would stay here again :)

Sebastian welcomed us at the bar for check-in, showed us to our room, asked us if we needed assistance with our bags & demonstrated how to get in if we were returning to the hotel after midnight. Bedroom & unsuited bathroom were immaculately clean & tidy. Bed was very comfortable & a TV in the room too, clear instructions to connect to the WiFi. Fresh water provided on a hot sticky night.
