Self Catering This 300 yr old Thatched Cottage has been restored and has some of the original features like the original fire place , original floors and old style furniture, we tried to maintain as much of an authentic old time atmosphere as possible whilst also providing for comfort and pleasure. Some of the rooms are small . The road outside the cottage can be busy at times you will need to take care going out of the driveway the traffic mirror will help you out .

We loved our stay with Niamh and Joe. I didn't think the pictures did justice to their artsy decor with humorous touches. And the elegant breakfast room was a welcome bonus. First class :) Joe was very helpful in giving us pamphlets of things to do in the city and surrounding area as well as a page of dining suggestions. The house is a short walk to all kinds of dining and shops, as well as the castle. We stumbled across a lovely trail which followed the river, bringing us out to the far end of the castle grounds. We recommend this for an evening stroll.

A spacious room is furnished with a queen-sized bed dressed in a light quilt. Two bedside tables with lamps flank the bed, providing soft lighting. A comfortable chair and a storage bench add functionality to the space. Natural light filters through the window, enhancing the ambience.

Agnes is a lovely and very caring host. We felt right at home, everything was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was more then we could have asked for. She also has a bunch of recommendations for Kilkenny and surroundings. We will definitely come back should we be in Ireland again and can only recommend a stay at her house :)

Oonagh was a great host, so welcoming and accommodating, and her B&B was just lovely. Very homely, spacious, clean, inviting. Only a very short drive into town too, not too long a walk. We only stayed one night but could have happily stayed more. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

Sebastian welcomed us at the bar for check-in, showed us to our room, asked us if we needed assistance with our bags & demonstrated how to get in if we were returning to the hotel after midnight. Bedroom & unsuited bathroom were immaculately clean & tidy. Bed was very comfortable & a TV in the room too, clear instructions to connect to the WiFi. Fresh water provided on a hot sticky night.
