Tranquil Valley Home, 4 guests 2 upstairs bedrooms. A walk on Karekare beach is one of the most memorable walks in the country. Some of the local bush and coastal walks are also highly rated. Karekare had some significant flooding in February 2023. There are still some road works being completed. We inform guests about these at the time of the booking. The Little Louise's: Lux-romantic & Panoramic View

To say that Janene was a 5-star host is an understatement -- she would be better described as a personal CEO -- Chief Experience Officer! She has thought of everything that one might miss about their home and she has included those "creature comforts" as part of your "home away from home." (In fact, my wife ordered some of the same bed linens and pillows to enjoy at our home back in Texas!) Janene is super friendly, proactive and responsive, and always thinking about how to add value to your stay. Her recommendations regarding things to do and places to dine in the area were spot on. Piha is a favorite for mu wife and I, but being able to experience the atmosphere of The Little Louise's added another special element to this special place on earth. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone!

Wonderful special gem. The first thing my son said when we arrived was, “This is the house I’ve always wanted!” Loved the views over beautiful bush and sea. Slept super well up in our little nest above the forest. Lovely bush walk down to the beach. What a unique place away from the hustle of the city.

Such a lovely peaceful place close to city but on the edge of Waitakeres and close to west coast beaches like Piha. We used it as a springboard to theatre in the city, lovely hiking around Arataki visitor centre and a comfortable drive to Piha. Close to many supermarkets. Comfortable and warm. If u like cooking as we do the full kitchen makes that easy. Lovely all round.

The Blue House - Piha Retreat

This luxurious mountain-top eerie offering spectacular views over Auckland's iconic Piha Beach was the setting for a recent 'Big Chill'-style Easter reunion with old friends. The gorgeous open-plan kitchen, dining and living room provided the focus for the group to reminsice about our youthful exploits at Piha over wine, fine food and chocolate easter eggs. There is sleeping available for eight, though there were only six of us. The house has all the mod-cons, including a beautiful stereo system, featuring creamy-sounding Linn speakers. We spent hours reading and chilling in beautiful designer chairs, or looking out at the panoramic view of Lion Rock. One suggestion is the deck is crying out for built-in barbecue, though I imagine council regulations might prevent that. Also, Piha is (STILL, after 40 years) woefully under-serviced by shops, so make sure you load up on everything (including wine and beer) in Auckland beforehand. A truly memorable weekend.

We loved staying here! The lovely space upstairs with the beautiful view meant we could enjoy meals with our teenagers and then they were based in the downstairs area and could sit around the fire and wander off to the beach. The decor was fun, the amenities were great and we could take the dog. We had a fantastic weekend!
