La Bauzeille Haute is situated at the head of a wild south-facing valley in France’s deep south, with spectacular views of the Pyrenees. We are just 40 minutes drive from the airport at Carcassonne and its medieval town and 20 from the carnival town of Limoux. This is the heart of Cathar country with its Castles and myths, legends and stories of Aragon and Occitan.

Located in the hamlet of Rivals, 10 minutes from Lake Montbel, 1 hour from the ski slopes, Foix and Carcassonne and 1.5 hours from the Mediterranean Sea. Chalet Salamandre

Enjoy the peace, the view and the comfort of this stylish chalet. Very suitable as a romantic getaway or relaxing in nature with your family. We are at 650 meters altitude, in a hot summer it is always a little cooler than in the valley and with a breeze, very pleasant. At night, the lake cools down and it's a good night's sleep. We don't need air conditioning. Dogs are welcome, €15 per stay. For the winter months there is a wood stove. The firewood is not included in the rental.

Daytours possible by the day: cathar castles, Carcassonne city, Andorra country, Mediterranean beaches. Lac de Montbel is 20 minutes away.

In order to make the most of your stay here is a list of places to visit near the cottage: Rennes le château, Rennes les Bains, Pic de Bugarach, vulture observatory, Galamus gorges, the medieval city of Carcasonne. 1.5 hours from the beaches and 3/4h from the ski slopes in the Pyrenees. Lakes and swimming in the villages of Puivert and Quillan. Lover of hiking and biking lots of beacon tours.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the wooden terrasse watching the sunrise over the mountain . This home is on the door step to the enchanting Nebias labyrinth formed by a karstique maze hidden in a preserved oak forest near the huge pine tree forest. From here you can visit Quillan and its lake, the mysterious Rennes-le-Chateau, the lake and castle of Puivert, the stunning castle of Montsegur, an impressive sight nestled high on a rocky hilltop.

The Knights' House

Spacious and comfortable Templar house, ideal for one or two couples with two children. In the heart of the village, this pleasant home is only about ten steps from the Aude and its promenade. Gîte among the vineyards

This recently renovated house is set in the middle of a 70-hectare organic wine-growing estate, in the Cathar region and close to Carcasonne. It offers magnificent views of the surrounding vineyards and forests, ideal for walks, with views of the Pyrenees. This house is next to the Belgian owners' central farm, but is entirely private. During your stay, you can enjoy free wine tasting and a tour of the winery.
