Welcome to a farmhouse style guest house built in the late 1800's located in the village of Utica-an hour east of Columbus and the entrance of Amish Country byway to Holmes County-an hour away. It is conveniently located on the corner of State Rt. 62 and 13...busy and noisy intersection; but cozy, private, and relaxing inside. You have the apartment to yourself-large kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee bar, as well as pastries, snacks, and diy breakfasts available.
“This was our second stay at the Village Farmhouse, and it was spotlessly clean just as it was the first trip, and we have already scheduled a third stay. It was well stocked with bottled water, milk, pastries, cereals, and coffees with a K-Cup coffee maker. The antique bath tub may not be well suited to elderly and/or handicapped, and the bedrooms are both on the 2nd floor with very steep and narrow steps. There is wi-fi and a TV with DVR, but no cable or antenna tv, but we connected our lap top via a HDMI cable to their TV, and we were able to stream TV that way. The Village Farmhouse suits our needs, but it may not be every one's cup-of-tea.”
We have an 1840's Federal style brick house in rural Knox County, Ohio. We do not have WiFi but you will find peace and quiet, fresh air and a variety of trees and birds. Views from the house include fields, our barn and occasional deer. We are just seven miles from Kenyon College, Mount Vernon and the bike trail. The largest Amish settlement in the USA is only 40 minutes away. If you like to kayak, canoe or fish, you can access the Kokosing, a scenic river, in less than 5 minutes.
“Beautiful house on beautiful grounds that are fun to explore. There is a wonderful mix of experiencing a home from a different time with modern amenities. The board games and puzzles are a great touch. We hope to stay again. Great communication from friendly host, Jerry. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.”

“Rosella and Roger were very friendly and welcoming. I stayed for multiple months from out of state and they made me feel at home. They even provided a home cooked dinner every Monday night. The room and entire place was very nice, clean and exceeded expectations. Hanover is a nice little town and I’d recommend Panther’s Pizza if you like pizza. Most of the restaurants and grocery stores are in either Newark or Heath (20 min drive). Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend.”
