Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

This is an incredible property! The views are simply amazing. The entire area is packed with fun and great food and views …WOW! We rented a two-person kayak which was so fun to just take off from the dock into ocean water. It’s the harbor, so the water is fairly calm. Even this cautious skeptic felt very safe kayaking in the ocean. Do it!!!! We want to come back!!!

Fabulous stay! Everything was perfect! We enjoyed watching the ferry come and go. Sunset from the deck and the stars were spectacular. Quiet location was a nice reprieve from the craziness of Acadia and Bar Harbor. Very clean and felt like home. We will definitely stay again if availability coincides with our trip!

Goose Cove was very comfortable spot for us on the quiet side of the island. Modern and clean. Two bedrooms on the opposite side of the house made for maximum privacy. Each had its own bathroom. The kitchen was had everything. Washer and dryer were top-notch. Patio was great for relaxing. Can’t emphasize enough how nice it was to return each day, especially on crowded days over by Bar Harbor. Would definitely stay again.

We do an annual birding trip somewhere in the country with my sister-in-law and her husband. Mari’s house was by far and away the nicest, most comfortable AirBnB we have stayed in. The beds, the furniture, were all quite comfortable. The kitchen sufficiently equipped - and we cooked dinner there every night of our stay. The screened gazebo on the deck was grand for eating or justing enjoying the night air. The directions for the house couldn’t be clearer. We were absolutely delighted.

We had a wonderful stay at the cozy cottage. The house was great, with everything newly updated and fresh. Great views, modern amenities, clean and well appointed. The location was great, on a very quiet cove. It was as peaceful as could be, and the view of the night sky (and the aurora!) was a big plus. No complaints whatsoever about this charming cottage. We would love to return as soon as we can!

I have stayed at many airbnbs and Sophia’s was one of the cleanest and most comfortable! I especially appreciated the little details that made our children feel cozy and welcome. She was excellent at communicating and working with our needs.

Beautiful place in a beautiful setting! We loved Salt in the Pines for our group of three couples. Scenic ~20 minute drive to Bar Harbor and easy access to Acadia. We already want to come back and stay again!

This lodging was exactly what our family wanted for our time on Mt. Desert Island. With 4 upstairs bedrooms it provides plenty of private space & the open living room & well-stocked kitchen allows for a spacious, comfortable time together. The books, games & game room are a bonus! It is well shaded keeping the house cool on warm days. The location on SW Harbor means it is a quiet experience but also has cafes & shops within walking distance ~ Beals Lobster, Clark Point Cafe, Little Notch, Acadia Quiet Side Shop, Rodick's. We recommend the following walks/hikes nearby : Acadia Mtn, Flying Mtn, St. Saveur Mtn, Wonderland, Ship's Harbor, Bass Harbor Head Light, Great Pond, Charlotte Rhoades Garden, Wendell Gilley Museum. On into Bar Habor we recommend driving up Cadillac Mtn, hiking Gorham Mtn, Ocean Path, Gorge Path, Sand Bar & Island, Jordan Pond. The hosts provided frequent & clear communication and we will happily consider staying here again if it meets our travel needs.

We had such a nice stay at Ross and Dana’s place! The home was spacious and private, and we loved waking up for a view of the lake with our morning coffee. Whether it was going for a paddle on the lake or taking a day trip into Acadia, their place was the perfect location for our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this Southwest Harbor rental! The owners were welcoming, thoughtful, and responsive. The home met our needs and we had everything we needed. One thing to note is the laundry is in the basement so if you have mobility issues that could be an issue but the machines worked well and it’s always nice to be able to have clean laundry on a trip. One of our favorite things about this home was the giant tv and comfortable seating for movie nights after exploring the area all day. I would recommend this rental if you are interested in staying in a quiet and comfortable home on your trip to area!

We had an incredible stay at the Blue Hill Bay house! Nestled in a peaceful wooded setting, the home feels wonderfully secluded, yet inviting. The expansive windows, especially from the top floor loft, make you feel like you’re living in a treehouse. We loved spending evenings around the fire pit, which is surrounded by thoughtfully curated plants, creating a truly magical atmosphere. The grill was easy to use, making outdoor meals a breeze. Inside, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms spotless. We also appreciated how thoughtfully designed the space was, especially since it's hard to find a cute place that also warmly welcomes dogs. If you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate, this place is a gem! We can’t wait to return.

My family and I stayed here for a week on MDI and totally felt at home. This place is cozy without feeling crowded at all, and they have included everything we could have possibly needed, from useful kitchen utensils and containers to a box of tissues in every room! I really liked being able to store our bicycles in the shed out of the weather - although the weather turned out to be great. There are some lovely garden areas all around the home as well and it was a pleasure to watch the flowers continue to bloom during our stay.

John's place is absolutely beautiful and homey! The house has been totally renovated in the winter of 2025 and is very lovely, classy, on-trend in ways that make this seaside cottage feel so refreshed, current and relatable. And that's just the INSIDES! The deck overhanging the rocks to the shore is THE perfect place to hang out: start your day here with a mug of hot coffee. Have lunch and cocktails in the afternoon/evening while viewing the unspoiled, gorgeous bay. Nature and serenity are what this place is ALL about! Enjoy the total peace, privacy and happiness this home provides. It's a true gem!

My husband and I loved staying at Ann’s place! It was the perfect place for a week of exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor! It was walkable to downtown and many trails and popular Acadia sites were within a 15 minute drive. The house was clean, cozy, and perfect for the two of us!

Beautiful and peaceful location! While off MDI, it was still very easy to access Acadia National Park and was a convenient location overall. Wonderful views out the windows, sliders, decks, etc. The area by the water was lovely as well. As we were staying with our baby, it was so helpful to have some provided baby items—a pack and play, high chair, and a baby gate (though we didn’t us the latter)—in addition to typical items (bed linens, towels, a wide variety of kitchen essentials, etc.) Robard was an excellent host, providing lots of information before the stay and responding promptly during our stay. We couldn’t get a window to lock (user error on our part) and Robard quickly came to check it out. He arrived just as we figured it out, but was very kind about the inconvenience, and chatted with us about the area and clamming by the water.
