Unforgettable Stay at Cable Bay! My husband and I had such an incredible time at this beachfront Airbnb that we ended up extending our trip—honestly, we just didn’t want to leave so we extended our stay and extra day! The property offers stunning views of the ocean and provides direct access to the best beach in the area. Rosemary and Brian were fantastic hosts from the moment we arrived, greeting us warmly and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their thoughtful recommendations on local dining spots and nearby attractions really enhanced our experience. The location is perfect—there’s a fantastic fishery and a charming dairy just around the corner, so everything you could need is within easy reach. We truly had an unforgettable time and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this hidden gem at Cable Bay!

Janes place is incredibly beautiful. The sun shone down into a little piece of paradise and we did some fishing (and caught fish) right in front of the house! Truly magical spot and Jane was warm and generous 🍃 I will 💯 be back again

I wanted a place that was quirky and this was it The caravan bedroom was very comfortable Kitchen and bathroom had everything I needed Having the yard fenced was great for my furbaby although she did like playing with the resident Labs!!! Loved walking along the beach watching the Kite surfers We didn't need to leave the property Having Netflix available was a treat as weather was very unpredictable!! Would love to return in summer!! A 5 star host!!!

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful Airbnb right on the water’s edge. The location was absolutely stunning – peaceful, scenic, and so close to nature. Our host was super friendly and full of helpful local tips. We especially loved the walk to the nearby surf beach and grabbing a morning coffee at the local campground. A perfect spot to relax and explore!

Lovely, clean and tidy holiday spot. Perfect for our family of five as a base for travels in Northland and a restful place to retreat to. A short stroll to beautiful Coopers Beach.

Tyson’s Waterfront Bach is located very close to the ferry ramp in Okiato. It has a lovely view across the water towards Opua and is well-appointed, delightful, peaceful and cosy. Access to the water is good, the drive to Russell takes only about ten minutes and there is a lovely, local but at times tricky, walk through native forest. Within minutes of arriving, we were relaxed and enjoying our stay. So it continued for 5 nights. We’d come again. Thank you John

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was me, my partner, my sister, her partner, and their newborn — and the space was perfect for all of us. The house was fresh, clean, and beautifully maintained. Being right on the beach made it even more special — private, peaceful, and ideal for a relaxing getaway. The host went above and beyond by providing breakfast items and treats, which we really appreciated. There were also heaps of games available, which we definitely made use of and had a lot of fun with. You can really feel the care that’s gone into creating a welcoming and comfortable space. We’d definitely love to come back — highly recommend!

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

The cottage has a gorgeous view - such a treat to wake up to it every morning. Really spacious and ideal for a couple. Short drive away from some amazing beaches. Thank you, Kathy!

This was the most lovely accommodation! It was clean, well-appointed, and had the most beautiful view of the Bay. Wendy communicated well, and provided easy instructions for entry into the car park, and from there, into the apartment. Our two night stay was extremely quiet, which we expected, given it's not the high season, yet there was still enough going on about town that we never wanted for something to do! The location was absolutely ideal, as all businesses were within very easy, close-in walking distance. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer, and we'll definitely look to return!

Rhys and Kas’s home exceeded every expectation we had. The view is truly beyond words—something you have to experience to believe. From sunrise to sunset, it felt like living in a postcard. The house itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The short walk to the beach was one of our favorite parts—just a few minutes through a gorgeous, peaceful trail that felt like a hidden gem. Our kids loved it, and we soaked in every moment as a family. Rhys and Kas were an exceptional hosts—kind, attentive, and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. This home offered us the perfect mix of comfort, beauty, and tranquility. We can’t recommend it enough and would come back in a heartbeat!

Wow, we have truly enjoyed staying at Clive’s beautiful home, located on a gorgeous beach. The location was phenomenal, steps away from the beach with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The home is equipped with all the necessities, very spacious yet cozy, the floor to ceiling windows provide the best views from the living room and kitchen. We are already looking forward to coming back, we had such a wonderful experience.

The most serene beautiful location. Felt like a million miles from anywhere but best brekkie and coffee just steps from the door and a general store a couple of minutes away with everything you could need. Bed to die for, luxury linens and towels. Possibly the cleanest place EVER. thank you gavin, a perfect stay in a beautiful location.

By far, the best airbnb experience we’ve ever had! My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and everything was perfect, we felt so comfortable and at home at the place. Wendy went above and beyond, and made it extra special by picking up flowers so I could surprise my wife upon arrival. The place is beautiful, with amazing views and Wendy and Mike were fantastic hosts. They were so helpful and welcoming to us. And last but not least, the fresh baked bread each morning was delicious! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend them to anyone staying in the area.

Olive Grove Cottage is one of the best airbnbs that we have stayed (trying hard to recall one that was better). The bathroom had loads of bench space for all our things, the bed was so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed (including a sharp knife - almost a first!). The two cabins (one for bed and ensuite, and the other the kitchen) were connected by a fabulous expansive patio, partly covered with a sail cloth (just right for a bit of shade from the sun). This patio was a great place to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the view - spectacular. Such a lovely private enclave. To top it off, the herb and vegetable garden were available for what we wanted. Lisa is a fabulous host, who made us feel welcome from our very first contact, with a very quick response time. I couldn't recommend Lisa's place more highly.

Absolutely stunning Airbnb, one of if not the best we’ve ever stayed in (we’re doing a round the world trip so have stayed in a lot by now)! It was absolutely pristine, we felt like we were checking into a 5* hotel with the quality of the beds, linens, towels etc. It is genuinely nicer than the photos and more spacious, and it was so appreciated that Anita had some provisions and snacks like milk, chocolates, crisps and fruit there for us when we arrived. Anita is lovely and so friendly! She kindly greeted us at check in, showed us around and how everything works, and gave us some fantastic local recommendations which we did and thoroughly enjoyed, in particular the coastal trail to Paihia and getting the car ferry across the bay to go to Russell. The views over the bay, watching the boats come and go, are stunning. We didn’t use the BBQ that’s on the balcony but would have if we’d stayed longer, which I wish we had! Overall we couldn’t fault this place, and HIGHLY recommend staying

Karen & Peter were great hosts. They greeted us upon arrival and departure, toured us around their Airbnb, and even had a little local guide book. They’re lovely people and their space is very clean. We were really happy with how complete their utensils for cooking were. We highly recommend their place for anyone looking for a home away from home at the Far North.

Vittoria is an excellent host. Great communication at all times. The accommodation was spotless with no issues at all. Can highly recommend this spot!!

We stayed over NY with this as a base for some great adventures and lots of seafood. The property manager Peter was very flexible and helpful. Bev next door was also amazing and very hospitable. Would have no hesitation in staying again! Thanks for an awesome trip.
