Rose's Cottage

A self contained cottage. 1 minute walk from a long, white sand popular surf beach and 2 minutes to a beautiful tidal estuary. The cottage is behind my house in a semi tropical lush garden. Pataua is a perfect place for walking, surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking or just relaxing. The garden is fenced so safe for babies and children or a small dog. My small dogs Ody and Tom share the garden. They are full of life but super friendly and gentle.

Spent a couple nights here to get out of Auckland for my birthday. Serena was lovely, accomodating and even left me a birthday card which was so nice! the place is beautiful and quiet. Super close to Mount Manaia and all the surrounding beaches. Beautiful spot to get out of town for a bit! 😇

I’ve been to more than 30 airbnbs throughout my life - both my wife and I agree this was by far the best experience we’ve ever had at an Airbnb. Modern, new property, directly in front of the water with a large front yard with bench’s, swing, and hammocks. Quiet, peaceful and safe suburb. Lloyd is also an excellent host and extremely friendly - we were welcomed to the property with a bottle of red wine, and also provided complimentary milk, tea and coffee. We were also offered paddle boarding equipment and were allowed to check out late from the property. Four square is only a short 5 min drive and open late. The waterfront setting and view were definitely the highlight. Worth a lot more than the advertised price. Cant recommend it highly enough

Great place and Pataua is magic. Graham's place is terrific and kept meticulously. It was peaceful and well appointed. Very functional and well supplied kitchen and great grill on the lovely deck. We were only able to stay a couple nights but this was a great spot to see Pataua from.

We had a wonderful weekend and created some truly beautiful memories in this stunning home. The fireplace was a lovely touch, especially during the chilly mornings and evenings. The kitchen was modern, stylish and very practical, with a massive island bench that worked perfectly for our group. It made cooking and sharing meals together so easy and enjoyable. The hosts were readily available through the Airbnb app whenever we had questions, and they graciously allowed us a slightly later check-out as we were having such a beautiful weekend. The instructions for using the house facilities and checking out were clear and really helpful. The spa pool was amazing and added an extra layer of relaxation to an already perfect weekend. I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

Outstanding! The surroundings are incredible, so much beauty. So ideal if you're looking to escape noise and just be in nature. The house is so comfy, cosy, simple and still elegant with lots of quality furnishings. It's peaceful and has great views. Perfect for a summer day or a cold blustery night. Susan was a wonderful host, really took time to put in effort and give us great recommendations of what to do in the area. Super friendly and easy to deal with. Book this place now, don't hesitate!

A very well maintained and nicely decorated paradise where one would fully immerse in the nature. Doing star gazing while enjoying the hot tub was an amazing experience. The utensils and furnitures, including the outdoor ones, are exceptionally clean. Despite the winter weather (shorter daytime), it’s a privilege to enjoy the entire place as no one is renting the retreat next door.
