Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Sveitarfélagið Ölfus

The four of us (4 adults) had plenty of room, comfortable furniture/beds and fully stocked kitchen equipment. Viðar and Bryndís are responsive and accommodating hosts. Location made city attractions (museums, churches, walking) and day trips (Golden Circle, puffin tour, sky Lagoon, Snaelfellsnes Peninsula) simple. We were always happy to return to this home that felt like an island of peace.

We spent two nights at Guðbjörg’s place before heading to the airport, and it was the perfect spot for a short stay. The home looked exactly like the photos—very clean, thoughtfully arranged, and set in a quiet, peaceful area with convenient parking right outside. Check-in was smooth, and Guðbjörg was quick to respond and helpful throughout our stay. The space was ideal for our family of four. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Having a grocery store nearby was a nice bonus for picking up essentials. Overall, it was a calm and comfortable stay, and we’d happily recommend it to others. We just wish we had a bit more time to enjoy the place!

Beyond our expectations! The house was perfect , clean, peaceful and felt like home. The host is so friendly and helpful and helped us feel settled right away. The Views were unbelievable! The Location was so nice for us as we were only in Iceland for 5 days but we got to visit so many places from Selfoss. I would go back in a heartbeat ! Thanks for this beautiful Airbnb for making the trip extra special for my family! More than 5 stars !

Jóhann was very responsive, made sure our stay was going well and even gave us directions to two grocery stores that were close to the house. Location was great, easy to get to and only about a 15 min drive into Reykjavik. There were 10 of us staying here and we had plenty of room, house was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Gilsi and Johanna were exceptional hosts - very responsive and welcoming. Their home is beautiful and well situated in a quiet neighborhood that is easily accessible to Reykjavik and the amazing sites that Iceland has to offer. The house is perfect for families with young children and our group (4 adults and 5 kids) had everything we needed and then some! One thing to note - there is only one bathroom with a shower and tub, the other being a half bath. It didn't impact our trip greatly but may be an important thing to note if you need more shower facilities for your group.

The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, even leaving us a handwritten note and it was such a thoughtful touch. also the kitchen was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed, which made it easy to settle in and feel at home. Being escaped from the coldness of iceland, heating worked perfectly, and the cozy, warm atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and comfortable after a day of exploring. The location was in a peaceful neighborhood, and the house was spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. Staying here made our Iceland experience even more memorable !! Björgvin is a great host and his place was everything our group was looking for. Remote house, with a hot tub, grill and good vibes. The location and the view from the terrace is beautiful with only a few minutes drive to the nearest town. Björgvin was really friendly and offered his assistance if we needed anything which was a nice touch.

What a great find! The place was perfect and the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the books! I read a Steinbeck book which I greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful as was the sunroom. I imagine the sunroom would be the perfect room to see the Northern Lights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we even got to spend a little time with one of the neighbors who was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very spacious, clean & nicely designed. If you are looking for horseback riding our kids LOVED “Riding Tours South Iceland.” Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I would love to return there someday.

Clean and beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The place felt remote but was near enough to Selfoss to make grocery shopping and eating out very convenient. The house was immaculate, very well equipped, and exactly as described. We were able to watch the northern lights from the beautiful deck and we were able to interact with the sweet horses on our way to and from the property. Edda was very communicative and explained everything very well. We would definitely stay here again!

Leszek was very supportive, the information about the house precise. The place is beautiful, cozy and cabin-like. The hot tub is very pleasant (the water smells like sulfur due to the geothermal area). we would definitely recommend this place Nd come back again!

Lovely cottage with amazing views. Cottage was clean, cozy, and exactly what we were looking for. Comfy beds and couch. Loved the covered hot tub - we had windy/rainy evenings, so it was nice to soak while having some weather protection! There is a large windowed sliding door you can open as well to let in cool air in. Host was friendly and communicative, check-in and check-out were very easy. Other pros - there’s a cute restaurant onsite, and we didn’t use them, but also laundry facilities. We’d definitely stay again!

What a wonderful time we have had! Amazing hosts, gorgeously warm & comfortable apartment, hot powerful shower which has been so welcoming after a long day of exploring & the most comfortable bed ever!! Check in at the apartment before you visit the supermarket (Kronan is the best!), as we found a wealth of condiments & bathroom toiletries already there which was much appreciated. It has been magical visiting Iceland: beautiful waterfalls, whale watching, glaciers, geothermal bathing & more. We’ve loved every single minute & can’t wait to come back! Thank you Kate & Siggy. Xx

I enjoyed the time very much. The place has a great design, everything I needed for a long variation and more. It's so close to busses that go to the City Center and by foot you can go to the sea. I also had a long walk to Sky Lagoon. Also there was a grocery store in 10 min walking range through the quiet and very safe living area. The hosts were super helpful and friendly at all times. You even get a digital booklet by them that shows you all the important Information to get around, emergency numbers and places to visit. I especially loved the vulcano inspired colour design in the rooms that made me wanr to go on adventures and to see the countries wonderful nature. I definitally recommend the stay. I already think of coming back there somewhen in the future. It felt like a second home. Thank you, Kristin for the lovely time!

this was a great place! close to many things. we used it as a base for day trips around Iceland. super clean, quiet, and had all the amenities you need. alex was always quick to respond to all our questions and was so helpful. definitely recommend this spot.

Casa stupenda, grande e accogliente. Posizione ottima, c'è la fermata del bus molto vicina che va diretto al centro di Reykjavík e un supermercato a 10 min a piedi. Il quartiere è molto bello e tranquillo, anche per fare una passeggiata. La host è gentilissima e risponde a tutte le domande richieste in modo veloce e preciso. Ci ritornerei molto volentieri.

Casa molto calda,comoda hai supermercati e zona molto tranquilla. La posizione e è ottima per intraprendere viaggi fuori reykjavik. A me è piaciuta molto!

we love everything about staying in Sara's home. comfortable warm ambience with all the necessities. location is perfect for a peaceful stay, yet close to Bonus for groceries, Braud&Co. for parties, Sky Lagoon 29 min walk. Bus stop is 5 min & 15 min. into Reykjavik. We stayed last summer 3 days, and a again for 5 days. highly recommend.

Haben dort eine Woche verbracht. Sehr schöne Wohnung für 2 Personen in Reykjavik. Die Wohnung liegt etwas außerhalb, allerdings ist alles mit dem Auto sehr gut erreichbar. Kontakt mit Rakel war äußerst unkompliziert und freundlich. Wohnung war sauber und sehr gemütlich. Wir würden für einen Aufenthalt in Island immer wieder gerne diese Unterkunft buchen. Nur zu empfehlen.
